The KnuckSlap™: A New Take on Knucks

  • Michael Janich explains and demonstrates the concept behind his new KnuckSlap™--an evolved modular brass knuckle design that combines a classic two-finger knuck with a palm sap. The result is a weapon that can be used to punch, slap, and grab with crushing effect.
The KnuckSlap™ concept was created by Michael Janich. Mark Olson of 5x5 Combat Soltions then took Janich's original wooden model and refined it in CAD to yield a finished, fully engineered design. Mike Mackin of Spectrum Energetics LLC then executed the design in 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum.
The KnuckSlap™ is available exclusively through Tactical Elements: www.tacticalel....
P.S. The original name of this product was the "KnuckSap," however, several days before its release, another company revealed a different product by that name. Honoring their first commercial use of that name, we changed gears and christened ours the "KnuckSlap." Nevertheless, if you hear "KnuckSap" in the video, just imagine you hear an "L"...

Price point is way to high. There is no way that you have anywhere near $125 invested in even 10 of these. Considering how flooded the market is with affordable self defense options including many in the same category as yours it would be ludicrous to pay this much and if you were worried about people have a good self defense tool and not just lining your pockets you would have made them affordable for more than those with hefty wallets. I understand turning a profit but that's not what I'm seeing. The mark up is far too high. It's different but not good enough to rob people. And if the material is your excuse for the price you should rethink your choice of material as there are many affordable workable metals available.

I can see a decent open hand slap to the ear will be a serious deterrent to put an end to most situations escalating into a physical confrontation. And due to the size of it and striking quickly most people won't have a clue what just happened

@@raygun4468 illegal in England but not in many places in the US and I have 20 years of military combatives and martial arts experience. In no way at anytime would I be using them to strike the head as it can collapse the skull and kill. So yes a strike to the head would be attempted murder regardless. A "back-fist" with dusters? I think not unless you want to turn your wrist out to an unsafe angle as the back fist striking surface is the back of the knuckles....the dusters don't cover that part of your hand so no but hammer fists are one of your best friends if you're using dusters, break small hand bones or crack forearms or aim for soft squishies all along the body but stay away from the head of you want to stay out of prison. I carry dusters on a daily and can attest to the effectiveness when used properly to damage limbs and joints to halt an aggressor. Why do you all live in this tiny box of "you gotta throw head shots" it is not the case and if you strike the head you'll have a hard time proving self defense to a court. Much easier to prove self defense if it is clear that attempted murder is not your M.O. also it's much easier to prove self defense when you know, understand and adhere to the force continuum and only use the amount of force necessary to either immobilize or incapacitate your assailant. I don't approve of unwarranted violence in any way so I will close with this. Situational awareness and a new pair of Nike are some of your best self defense tools.
