    Truth (satya) has been divided into three categories: a) Paramarthika Satya (Absolute Truth), b) Vyavaharika Satya (worldly truth) and c) Pratibhasika Satya (appearance). Brahman (Pure Consciousness) is Paramarthika Satya. All relations and business are Vyavaharika Satya (even though Consciousness is one, yet we have to accept that my mother is different from my wife and treat accordingly, herein Paramarthika Satya has to take a back seat, and then Pratibhasika Satya (appearance): for example, mirage, it appears as if there is water, but it is not so, or a rope seen in bad light and considered as a snake. Even through it is not a snake, yet the appearance generates all effects of fear, shock etc. in the viewer. This world is more like an appearance -- a mirage-- it appears (or seems) to quench our thirst, but in reality, it does not. That is why we run after worldly enjoyments just as a thirsty would chase after a mirage.

    Amira and Ayaan.. I am an avid follower of Swami Sarvapriyananda.. I find him 21st century swami vivekananda.. Just convey him that i have expected a protest on the R G Kar medical college incident, a heinous crime happened in one of the oldest prestigious medical college in kolkata.. He definitely knows being a bengali.. Tell him if vivekanand was alive he should have condemned and protested.. He talks about global justice.. Doesn't he think R G kar case comes under the domain of global justice. I respect him.. Follow him.. Since long.. So expected the same out of respect and love for him.. Just convey my message.. It means a lot to me.. He actually means a lot to me.. His voice means a lot. 🙏

      Very much so, but know the teaching itself, he certainly points the direction but find the subject to the meaning in all teachings is consciousness itself. The Atman within IS Brahman without.

    Acharya Gaudapada has penned Mandukya Karika (87 verses) on the 12 Mantras of Mandukyopanishad --and this is a masterpiece, just as all works of Gaudapada. Acharya Shankara wrote a extensive commentary on the Karikas of Gaudapad. Great works !!

    Since my childhood I try to reach within me a state of not existing and so doing experiencing the sensation of total 'nothing', no reality whatever. I wonder if that can be called Shunya or is it only my imagination. As a child it was just a play but after I started to read about oriental philosophies it arouses in me many questions, since, though a very rational person, I still 'practice' that feeling because it is so relaxing.. as if momentarily out of body.. I wonder if Swami could give me some explination..

    Just use metophors of this word is a virtual reality where a partition jeeeva of your larger self atman which is partion of paramtman Brahman logs on to ..to play a character..
    This virtual reality just like game is rendered only for user and is evolved not programed..
    The virtual reality also explains double slit experiment..
    These metophors make it simpler to cognize old metophors like dream used in earlier times but it's still a metophor..
    Tom Campbell a physicist and explorer of consciousness is phenomenal..his metophors have helped me understand vedanta better

    Things exist but they lack independent existence. It's called dependent arising, also dependent origination. Phenomena arise but they are without inherent essence, therefore empty, akin to a dream. For more information, study the doctrine of Sunyata as elaborated by the great Indian philosopher Nagarjuna. It boils down to the idea (and fact actually) that all phenomena (including the self!) arise like a dream from the interdependence and interconnectedness between other phenomena and conditions (including awareness and consciousness itself). Everything can be broken down to other things and has no existence of its own. A car is nothing but the result of its building components. Taken apart, the car disappears. So with everything else. In this sense, reality is as empty as a dream because nothing has an inherent essence. The realization of this truth on a deep psychological level usually leads to what we call spiritual awakening or enlightenment.

      What is the difference between awareness and consciousness then? Aren't they inherently same? Also here he says that consciousness is one, but isn't it that humans all have their own consciousness?

    • @_lonelywolf
      @_lonelywolf 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@melosasengupta5068 I use them interchangeably, even though one could argue that consciousness should refer to self-awareness rather than (just) awareness.
      In Hinduism in general, it is believed that consciousness is one. It is sometimes referred to as Atman. Whereas in Buddhism and more recent eastern philosophies, consciousness (and awareness) are mere phenomena, hence as illusory and empty as everything else. They're not so special, so to speak.

      @@melosasengupta5068 Awareness is JUST BEING. No thoughts are generated in pure Awareness.
      In Consciousness, you experience something due to generation of thoughts (from memories). The spinal reflex is a pure awareness response. Your conscious mind does not know this very briefly but becomes active after the initial response to complex activation of some pathways in the brain, thoughts interacting in the field of consciousness.

    Can the dreamer experience his dream knowing very well that it is a dream...can the dreamer realise the limitations of his existence as a dreamer in his dream...can the wave realise that it is actually the ocean...can we go beyond our intellectual understanding ...can the photograh realise that it is not the person and its only an image.

    • @kerrydubord5273
      @kerrydubord5273 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would have to say, the dreamer is the dreamer alone which is brought on by the mind rolling the film which is the dream itself. What is realised in Vedanta is that all is witnessed by consciousness itself, the real being is what is one within everything,the atman, the mind is the film, the dream is the film, in deep sleep, if uninterrupted, the dweller is the self.
      In waking? See the screen of consciousness itself before the film, this is unbound, all pervasive, one without a second, the atman within and Brahman without.

      So Very True, but it must be noted that Advita Vedanta or any spiritual path is like the finger pointing to the moon and many on the path focus on the finger and completely miss the moon...It is like the fish that learns all about water and then goes in search of it...until the moment when the fish realizes its union with water then there is nothing to seek or do...The ultimate voice is that of silence and if one is able to listen to it then there is nothing else to know.

    Isn't Gaudapada also then false? My consciousness is experiencing reading the Upanashids which itself is an artifact in my conciousness?

    Pure Awareness (aka Brahman or pure consciousness) pervades the entire universe.
    Animals: In pure Awareness, no thoughts emerge. It is JUST BEING. If something else, other than the pure Awareness, also exists (forever) in the field of pure Awareness, it will be known in pure Awareness.
    True Existence: It is forever and in all conditions.
    Exists only sometimes (time bound): It is due to an illusion created by the interaction of many elements in the world. For example, rainbow, love, hate, anger, etc etc.

    In the present Awareness (where no thoughts are generated in humans), all other concepts, ideas, Gods, religious dogmas, hate, love, devotion etc do not exist. If something else, other than the pure Awareness, also exists (forever) in the field of pure Awareness, it will be known in pure Awareness. In other words, one needs an emergence of thoughts (mapped from memories in the brain) to produce the images or concepts of Gods in our conscious mind. That means, Gods and religions etc are images experienced in the awaken consciousness mind as a result of the brain input (memories).
    Therefore, any image, concept, idea, philosophy, religions, gods, stories, theories etc., are inherently empty (nonexistent). In other words, we worship the imaginary image created in our mind. We beg the characters (various hero-like images) created by us to save us from problems, reward us for good deeds, offer banana, coconuts, and money to our own images. We get upset with our own nonexistent image sometimes, throw temper tantrums, and become militant atheists to reject our own image. Worse is, sometimes we replace the previous nonexistent set of images with a new set of nonexistent images in the hope of a nonexistent eternal existence in a nonexistent heaven. Humans are so smart.

    This is spiritual gobbledygook ...while terrorists enter the space with guns, both would realize the reality. Lord Krishna did not tell Arjuna to reflect on reality and illusion when the time for action against the Kauravas had come.
