    They look like well behaved gals and good milkers the smaller bags less stepping on wounds and mastitis

    Tip for feeding out of a bag. Slit the plastic down the center on top then cut both directions. Flip each side over and set a tire on it to hold it open. No loose plastic. The whole face is exposed and when you are done for the day flip the plastic back and set the tires on it to keep it fresh.

    Mister man that’s some feeding system you have there. Conveyers connecting the silo line to the feed bins/trough/manger and a mixture of chain paddles & belts. I come from the smaller, old labour intensive feeding system of sileage forks & wheelbarrows. :) Great vid Kip!! I guess silo bunkers are not anymore economical than the Ag-bag.

      It’s pretty complex, you really have to stay up on it. Bunkers could be the future but we’re still thinking hard on it, it’d be a complete overhaul.

      And in my area concrete is not cheap.

    Ag bag seems cheaper than a new silo. It may not be my money. But still seems like a smarter choice. Beats getting smaller to only have to use the silo

    You showed how you made the "Ag-Bag" and now this is the way you take the silage from it.
    The only down side is the disposal of the plastic.
    Can you ♻ recycle it .?
    Nice video. 👍👍

    Curious why have an empty silo and full agbags?

    • @KipSieglerFarming1
      @KipSieglerFarming1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We fed that silo out first, I had another silo with corn and start feeding out of bags last

    Thanks. Does that ag-bag silage ever freeze solid?

    • @KipSieglerFarming1
      @KipSieglerFarming1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It freezes some but I’m still able to dig out of it👍

    To bad they don't have a machine for unloading silage from the bag like they have for unloading grain from the bag. They are fast. Thank you for the video eh.

    Why not just empty the Ag-bag into the silo - it would take a day or two - but then you would have your feed available without the daily additional work.

    Why not build a bunk silo

    • @KipSieglerFarming1
      @KipSieglerFarming1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We’d like to, the problem is getting it in the bunks to feed. The bags are almost a temporary fix.
