I think this is the problem with my oil loss, dramatic oil loss. I looked down by the oil filter housing and there is a bunch of green gunk. Looks almost like corrosion but i think it's coolant. Does that sound right?
Great Video, I got all the bolts/nuts off the rights side coolant/thermostat assembly (front and rear) but just cannot get it loose off that coolant pipe that runs across to the left side of motor. Can you offer advice? Thanks
That coolant pipe has a o ring that slides into the thermostat assembly. You really have to wiggle it back and forth. Just o rings. I had to pull really hard and wiggle it alot to get it to pop off. Definitely want to put new o rings on when done. Rock auto carries them
It was leaking out the bottom. Bad o rings. I changed the pressure sensor and that wasn't it. It would dump when it was cold outside. Was a fairly involved job.
Hi thanks for the video! Did you end up changing the whole oil filter housing or just the seals and gaskets? I replaced my oil pressure sender 2 months ago and they are bone dry now i thought it was the same but now i suspect the oil filter housing.
I replaced the whole filter assembly. I got on ebay. KIA had a national back order on the filter housing. If you do change that housing thier is a crossover pipe that needs to be removed below the lower intake. It is a bit tricky. I put new o rings on thermostat housing and the coolant crossover pipe.
Having all this fixed on my 2012 Santa Fe 3.5 as I type this. Ug...luckily it's all covered under the extended warranty I purchased. Only 31K miles! WTF?!
Good information bro thank you

sounds like a nightmare Kia should just use a spin on filter. But yes I know that oil pressure switch is a problem too
