My theory for the connection issue is that in the original, since the connections were slower, it's possible that the bullets would hit the next player before the game had a chance to apply the bullet damage drop off. So instead of the second getting hit by the same damage as the first, it is registering the first hit and damage drop off nearly instantly.
Eugene yackle the M16 was not always like that, in the og cod4 they werent able to one burst and quad headshot, at most it was a double or a triple if you're lucky enough.

BO3 has dedicated servers, and you can get collaterals on that game. It is something with the code, it's not the connection. There is something in the code in the old version of COD 4 that enables users to get collaterals. They must have changed that code in MWR that doesn't allow users to get collaterals. If they put collaterals in the game, there are collaterals. Connection can't do shit to change that.
The whole "connection being too good for collats" doesn't make much sense. If we are all playing with basically the same connection (like on a dedicated server), wouldn't that mean that if two or three people lined up on your screen, they would also be lined up in other people's games? Wouldn't that mean you should get a collat?

Really good connection your bullet will register more aka if you have the scope an inch off the player it won't kill him, with bad connect it most likely would bc of the logics. If you have bad connection your bullets are basically dumb they hit the players at time were they should've missed.
People have a right to complain and be angry though, they paid for a remastered version of the game, not a game with inconsistent gun damage compared to the old cod4.
The collats are broken because the player model width is bigger on this game as well if you open the PC files you will find that the bullet penetration is very slightly altered from the original game. In conclusion, deep impact is said to have fixed the collats because deep impact is buffing the bullet penetration value back to the original but it does feel very inconsistent :)
That makes sense since burst weapons have always been better on host, so if you're on host (servers are so good) you can't hit collats w/ snipers but you can with m16 since it's a burst gun on a good host

it doesn't make sense, but that's it's intended purpose. The ACOG producing more damage is a glitch that obviously wasn't supposed to happen.
