    Thanks you guys. I have had my 20K for about 14 months, and I’ve only deployed the couch into a double bed once. As a matter fact, I don’t carry the back cushions with me anymore, and I leave the couch set up as a single bed full-time. That’s where the cat rides when we’re driving, lol… In the sleeping bag, lol. If I had a boyfriend/partner to travel with, I would make him set up the bed every night, lol.

    You made the bed assembly look easy....The THOR Rize / Scope have the same type of bed...But some people say it’s difficult and like Tetris...I’m going to post this video on the Facebook Rize /Scope group page so they can see how easy it is...and I’m sure everyone will like the bedding products they use, so when I can get the links, I will share them on the group page too...Nice Job.l.Thanks for showing and sharing...Enjoy your new van !!

    I do agree it’s the best floor plan. Q: Now that he summer is in full swing, how is the roof AC cooling? Is the AC noisy? Is the van well insulated?

    • @jotjourneys2943
      @jotjourneys2943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Daniel, thank you for the comment. I do think the AC unit could be a larger BTU, (only 11k btu) and like all AC units is quite loud. It does struggle at times to keep up but we've come up with ways to cool the unit better by closing bathroom doors and a blanker over the cab so that only the "house" is being cooled. However, it beats not having AC at all. The van isn't in my opinion very well insulated. THOR really cut corners in this department as many others but we love the floorplan and the rig overall so we deal with the shortfalls.

    After researching many class B and B+ models we settled on the Thor Sequence 20 L model with the 2 separate twin beds so we don't have to go through this very step every night.

      Congratulations on your new rig! Totally understand! It now only takes us 1 min to set out the bed after having the rig 1 year and 35k miles. Like you we also researched and became quite the expert in the class b chassis. We chose this one due to the spacious interior and the larger galley and rear bath. However, we all camp differently and have different needs and must haves. Safe travels on your journeys ahead!

    Great video. 3 questions. Do you leave the table up while traveling? How loud is generator while operating? And do you feel bathroom too cramped for showering and other business.

    • @jotjourneys2943
      @jotjourneys2943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Chuck, thank you for watching!
      1. Although we could leave the table up while traveling, we usually don’t. We’re actually planning on getting the Lagun Table mount. The table is a little cumbersome and takes up a lot of usable storage.
      2. Prior to this rig we had an Airstream Interstate and the generator on that unit was excessively loud. The generator on this rig is extremely quiet. You can barely hear it while inside. It is actually able to be used in national parks so I’ve heard. Haven’t tested that for credibility, but it’s definitely quiet!
      3. The bathroom is actually very usable in my opinion. For a class b I truly believe it’s the most usable. I don’t have any problems showering or “other business”. You have enough room to turn around and wash, you can’t really bend over but you can rest your foot on the toilet to wash your legs.
      Again, thanks for watching and hope I answered your questions!

    Thanks for showing this. I'm seriously looking at this floor plan for snowbirding in, but really hope Thor comes up with a more streamlined way to make this bed. It's just me an a large dog, so the size and features are perfect, but that looks like it would get really really old doing it for months at a time.

    • @jotjourneys2943
      @jotjourneys2943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely. We had the same concerns as you. However, for us it actually isn’t that bad. It takes about 2-3 minutes and you’re in bed and 2-3 mins and your ready to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. They way I look at it, I spent more time making the bed in my full time bed everyday in our previous rv. This gives us the most open and airy layout on the market.

    I love this floor plan. Is there storage under the bed?

    • @jotjourneys2943
      @jotjourneys2943 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It really is in our opinion the best floor plan on the market today (for us). There is a small cubby under the bed forward bench behind drivers seat. Most of the plumbing (truma, water lines etc) are under the bed aft.

    you can throw out all the cushions and get 2 pieces of memory foam,one for the back and one to sit on then just put the one from the back next to the one you sit on when you are ready for bed.Just 2 pieces to deal with and not the 10 .

    I am waiting for a 20K, it's in but there are 2 issues they needed to order parts for. I got the generator version but now I see people complaining about how low to the ground it is. Is it a problem with speed bumps? 3" lifters for the back? How much did that cost?

      Sorry for the late reply. The generator sits very low. Speed bumps weren't an issue prior to getting the lift. However, backing into a space where there was a curb was a problem. We went to Off Highway Vans for the 3" lift and the ride control kit. We paid around $3,000 out the door. Well worth it! I only wish we had installed it when we took delivery. Hope this helps.
