In our culture, shouting has a largely negative connotation. Moreover, children are taught first and foremost not to express themselves by shouting but to use speech in such a way as to stifle emotion in order to regain a certain rationality.
The scream represents irrationality, disobedience, revolt, a form of expression that is uncontrollable and which sends us directly back to our deep animality from which human beings constantly seek to escape.
If shouting were an idiom, it would certainly be instinct. The one we're born with in our early days. We could develop, sharpen this cry the same way we do with our language. Maybe even its sound characteristics would give us more freedom...
In that case, we would write scream poems, and we would declaim these poems... And let live the music of these screaming bodies !
