When asked by Hollywood and western media on his obsession with akimbo's and dual wielding automatics, which is rare in western cinema, Woo simply replied : _"god gave us two hands, why not use both ?"_ Thats why I love this guy and his films
@@atwunz Haha it wouldn't be the first time either since he directed John Travolta twice. The John Wick films were definitely influenced by Woo films like The Killer
Hello, would you have the name of the song that the user "Jawsunleashed" used in the original video? I went back to look for this video with the aim of finding that song, I had been pending for all these years to find out its name, and today with apps+AI as "Shazam" I know I could achieve it, it was a song of the TECHNO-TRANCE genre or similar. Thank you very much.
A trademark of Hong Kong action movies in general, first scene with two guns was in Long arm of the Law directed by Johnny Mak in 1984, not just a Woo thing.
I’m obsessed with A Better Tomorrow. The sequel is good too and worth watching for the action scenes, but the first one has a great story, great characters, and action as well, a perfect film for my movie taste.
Simply Awesome Stuff: John Woo is brilliant when it comes to action 🤘🏻💯 The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled, Hard Target, Broken Arrow, Face Off, Mission Impossible 2, were too good. Fun Fact John Woo was offered to direct James Bond Film Goldeneye but he rejected it and then Martin Campbell directed it 🎥🎬💯🤘🏻
If I were to do a parody of a John woo movie; I would have a shoot out scene in which right the middle of the crossfire would stand a magician with a top hat 🎩. He'd remove his hat, doves would fly out and either crap on the protagonist's shoulder or fly in the faces of the bad guys. It's would also be funny if the movie took place in California, and the good guy had to fight the bad guys with only 10 round magazines
@@jornalsuperhero 5:38 is from Hard Boiled (1992)! This scene happens near the end of the film where Alan (Tony Leung) is facing off against Mad Dog (Philip Kwok) at a Hospital.

This is what cowboy bebop live action should've looked like along with Wong Kar wai style cinematography
Bro Cowboy Bebop with Woo's action?
Yes yes yes
Don't forget motorcycles, swinging on ropes/chains, back-in-time montages, plot ironies, and the usage of reflections.
I love John Woo's movie style !
Much dashing & stylish one !
I never want to hear the Mission Impossible theme ever again after this video
John Woo should be given a chance to direct a James Bond Movie, I'm sure he will take it to a different level 👍👍👍

Akimbo walter p99 ?

Mission: Impossible 2 is the closest we got to a 007 film directed by John Woo
this video deserves millions of views
The music makes this even better
No doubt Indian movies like Mohra, Aatish, Athadu etc. had John Woo's gun-fu influence(copied) in it.
No disrespect to John Moore but why did they go with him instead of John Woo to do Max Payne's movie?
My fav filmmaker
Hard Boiled is the best Woo.
Just a bunch of bad guys running in front of the hero's bullets. And then there's a scene with the final boss. Rinse, repeat in another movie. :)
I miss the old movies
