  • Between coordinating architects and contractors, reviewing design drawings, client calls and business development, there is SO much that happens in just one day for me, so I wanted to bring you along for another day in my life as a business owner and interior designer, so you can see what it's really like!! Make sure to watch to the end as you won't want to miss my site visit to one of our high end residential projects that is currently under construction!!
    Hope you enjoy this video and don't forget to comment and give it a thumbs up if you do!!
    Lots of love,
    xK

    Karin, I love videos like this! When you take us through a day in the life of an interior designer, people like me who hope to one day be as successful in the same field really enjoy this kind of content. It’s almost like a “behind the scenes” exclusive into your future career and no one else really puts out these kind of videos on TH-cam. Appreciate ya! Thank you!

    Nice to see what a 'day in the life' is like so that people truly see the value, the time, the experience required, the 'inside the trenches' and all that it takes to make a beautiful and functional space come together...it is NOT all hanging out and picking colours or shopping... it is mostly resolving, avoiding and anticipating problems and preventing them..CHEERS to you and your team!! I lLOVE my job, and would not have it any other way...

    Great video! I love how you show the true day-in-the-life of an Interior Designer. It's def a lot more than paint colors - LOL! Also, you and your team are going to absolutely LOVE Revit...I promise!!!! It's super easy to use and saves so much time. If drawn correctly, you can easily create 75% of your elevations and renderings. The only 2- down falls of Revit are the slim catalog of 3-D models and no excel integration for Schedules. Good luck, and reach out if you ever have questions. :)

    Hi Karin, I really enjoyed watching this video. A couple of weeks ago, I watched a video by Mr.Kate (not sure if you are familiar with her channel), and she mentioned being unnecessary going to school for interior design, that she became one because her friends thought she had good taste and asked for advice, so why not charge for it... As an interior design student it was very frustrating to hear that. Could you maybe talk about your thoughts on the subject on a video some day? Thank you for all the inspiration.

    • @KarinBohn
      @KarinBohn  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gio Schirmer Hi! I actually just talked about this subject in another video that’s coming out shortly. Stay tuned as it’ll be on my YT channel soon and I’d be very curious to know your thoughts... ❤️

    • @thesweetsceneblog3222
      @thesweetsceneblog3222 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think what Mr. Kate was talking about was being an interior designer/decorator under your own brand/business. I think in your video, you spoke about being one and working for someone else...if I'm not mistaken. You said you wouldn't hire someone if they didn't have some kind of training. Mr. Kate was speaking about if you want to get into it and necessarily don't want to pay so much money to go to school, or put yourself in debt, then start off by doing your own home and friends and family's homes and then branch off from there....which is how she got started.
