it's by kanno yoko. if you think this is great, check out ghost in the shell. of course, different genre altogether (both anime and the music), but omg... AND COWBOY BEBOP! another of kanno's works. fanastic tracks!
@@billlodhia5640 I second the Cowboy Bebop recommendation. Blue is I think my favorite song from and anime. So many amazing tracks by the seatbelts(writeen by kanno of course). Space Lion is sublime too.

its creepy how every piece of wolfs rain ost makes you feel depressed. even the "fluffier" sounding ones. if you watched the anime . i rewatched it so often in different languages, I know how it ends, I know what happens but yet each time I need few months after to recover from depression. Especially if you draw paralleles to "our" reality and that we might end like they. And this song here sums up everything

Wolfs rain is the most heart breaking anime I’ve ever seen, more heart breaking than any movie could ever be. It hits so close to home it tears me up just thinking about it, and I didn’t cry when my dad died, shit speaks volumes.
Wolf's Rain is one of the best emotional, heart-string pulling anime. I have to say that for a fact. It is the best anime and who cares if a Twilight thing is the featured video? Wolf's Rain deserves respect, who cares about if Twilight is on the same page?
Frank Rivers Agreed. It is depressing. There are a very few good anime nowadays. (Of course, NOT ALL are bad, but still, I know what you mean.) This was the best one I've ever seen in my life. Second will have to be Black Butler and third will probably be Death Note (I mean so far, because I've only seen a few episodes), but Wolf's Rain will always have to be the top. I can guarantee, that whoever watches anime a lot, must see this, and will most likely change their point of view on how most anime shows are today. There's a couple of kids in my school who indeed watch lots of anime, but they never had seen this... ;-;
Frank Rivers Also, the manga from Wolf's Rain is TOTALLY different, but the anime is actually WAY better. (That's in my opinion), but anyway, there should be a season two. Who agrees?
When I hear this I think about how could heaven possibly exist. If it were to exist you were to heave to be freed from all of your burdens including the burden of knowing that some of your friends and family will be going to hell. The only way to do that would be to be forced to forget about them.
My thought exactly. It sounds so much like Led Zeppelin, it's chilling. And a hint of some Silent Hill, I find. It's such a good OST for an anime it's damn unbelievable.
(SPOILER) I didn't get the end of wolfs rain. It just made me cry to see everyone die. I don't know what to think. I just felt.....incomplete or something.
the end is kind of confusing at first yeah. When you see all the characters back walking around after seeing everyone die. But they found paradise. Just like how the wolves were almost mythical in the book of the red moon so was paradise. It unleashed like... a reset. A lot of flowers started to bloom again after most of the planet was covered in ice. They mentioned in the first episode that when the world was coming to an end wolves would seek out paradise. Most likely what happened to the main pack was like what happened to Darcia, they were reborn and will exist as humans unless they manage to remember that they were wolves like Darcia had done. Sorry if my explanation is weird, it's been years since I watched the show. It's still one of my favorites though, and I always enjoy listening to this song, even if it is a little somber. But yeah, in the end, all the characters made it, thanks to the wolves the world didn't end and they get to have a normal human life especially since pretty much all the nobles are gone. They never make it too clear who all comes back beyond the wolves lol
That makes sense. Thx for you reply! What I had thought is it's just an endless loop in time because Kiba at the beginning of episode one was hurt and walking through snow like at the end of the series.
Neko Kat haha no problem. That first scene in the first episode along with the opening could all just be clever foreshadowing too. Or everything could have reset. It's a common troupe in anime to leave the ending open for the viewers to interpret things differently. Kinda neat :O
someday... when my nephew is at the right age... i'll force him to watch this with me. he have to. there's no other way out. he's growing up with these part-rubbish-animes nowadays and i'd like him to know the old, very good, series wich're really worth watching. >:( (sorry, my english sucks a bit

(SPOILER) when the world was falling apart, and everyone died, that was the end of the world. Cheza was the seeds to rebuild the new world, the beginning of the new world was paradise. Lord Darcia's wolf eye that didn't get destroyed started killing the things around it... so all in all, its just a cycle of that world. At first everything is pure= paradise, and then it is slowly polluted. that's what i think.

1 of the saddest animes ever
FMA(2003) being another one.
Dewayne C not even compared to clannad...
Clannad is just saddness for ever
Why you think that?
This whole anime is about hope
I understand 4 year old post but just don't get why is it sad.
Read the manga
such a beautiful and sadly underrated anime, forever one my favourites
I think it also plays when CHugara is dancing around in her little ball room and the wolves and Darcia are making their way to her.
The best song I've ever heard. I love Wolf's Rain!

Baby Kiba! ^_^
Beautiful song and most saddest anime that will make me cry like a baby!
Another season of Wolf's Rain would make the theme of the show, the cycle of nature and life and death, null and void.
I wonder if this show was one of the highlights of Steve Conte's musical career
Either this show, or Ghost in the Shell.
***** he contributed to a lot to bebops soundtracks too
That's pretty deep there, reaperflex
Tengo ésta canción metida siempre en la cabeza, realmente hermosa.
Sí, ella es muy bonita, incluso! Pero la que más me gusta en Wolfs Rain es "Gravity".
Nunca dejaré de amar esta canción
