Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video, we're breaking down A Quiet Place Day One.
-
The brand new prequel has just released and it tells the ground level story of the alien invasion. Taking place in - new york citttty....it's a perspective we've not seen in the franchise before.
Throughout this video we're gonna break it all down and talk about where we leave things at the end. We'll also be going over the news of part 3 so make sure you stick around until the end. From here on out its heavy spoilers ahead so check out here if you haven't seen the movie.
Make sure you hit the thumbs up and if you subscribe now then you can tell your mates you've been a fan since day one.
With that out the way, thank you for clicking this, now let's get into A Quiet Place Day One.
-
Ok so whereas both part 1 and 2 took place in rural America, here we're in a modern day metropolis. This allows us to see things from Day One though we have watched that in the franchise before.
Part 2 opened with us seeing things from the beginning but here its expanded beyond just a prologue.
Following a terminally ill cancer patient named Sam shes living out her final few days at a hospice. Writing poems about how shit life is she's resigned herself to death. Sams already said goodbye to the city and has pretty much closed the door on the past.
However a spark of light comes when her nurse invites her to go and see a show in the city. Sam demands that they get pizza after it and throughout the film we learn why this is so important to her. It turns out that one of her happiest childhood memories is something that she used to do regularly with her dad. A much loved piano player he'd take her out to a show and then they'd go for pizza at a restaurant called Patsys.

This was the fist time that i ever saw a male character say out loud that they were scared.. Also as someone who has cancer I really related to her feeling nihilistic at the beginning of the film. The film was poignant and tenseq
Should tell you how unrealistic this garbage is.
first time a male character saying he was scared…? Huh? The little kid from the previous quiet place movie said he was scared many times what are you talking about? Also, there is hundreds of movies where male characters say they are scared. Are you like new to watching movies or something?

This movie gave me a lot of Cloverfield vibes, and I love that movie.

I personally thought it was great. A horror movie with heart. Superb acting and the ending was satisfying yet bittersweet. 4/5 stars for me.
Yeah it was an action thrill horror and I really enjoyed it…I was holding my breath a few times and I had to tell myself to breathe lol

I would say it didn't actually have much horror now that I think about it, like three tension scenes with the slow pans and lingering camera
Great movie, chemistry between the two main actors is interestingly good, Djimon Hounsou's character finally got a name and the cat survived.
Omg! I was going through the comments to hear about the cat, lol. Is the cat mute? Cause how else did she survive?
@@Jamietheroadrunner nah even better, plot armor was strong with the cat, cat might even make it through to the end of the entire alien invasion hah

He’s a good actor didn’t even know that’s who he was!
Sam was holding a book called Dawn by Octavia Butler outside of the bookstore. It’s speculative fiction about a woman put in a position rebuilding human society after an alien invasion.
omg I LOVE Octavia Butler thank you for catching that. I love that she took up a book from THE Black Female Pioneer of Sci-fi fiction.
So glad others caught that too! I always loved Dawn (and the rest of Butler's Xenogenesis trilogy) because it was such a different take on the typical alien encounter/invasion story. In addition to being great as well I think Parable of the Sower and Kindred likely get more attention because they're her more "literary" works. But I have a soft spot for Dawn because it showcases Butler's nerdy sci-fi B-movie fan core. Huge props to Day One's production designer!!
I smiled so big when I saw the book by Octavia E. Butler. I love her books.
Thank you so much for mentioning this! Interesting that he did not.
I liked it a great deal. The performances brought it up from being a "movie" to a "film". I loved that we went from survivalist middle/upper class America to a person who literally has nothing, is (initially) alone, and is trying to survive for just one more day. In fact there's a poem about time in the film. Brilliant.
Describing it as a film and not a movie is the perfect way to talk about it
How did you get that the family from the first movie was middle/ upper class and the main character from the third movie had nothing? The family from the first movie lived on a farm. Now arguably was it initially their farm from before the invasion? Maybe, maybe not. If it was their farm, we can safely say that farmers struggle financially. Unless they own huge corporate farms, family farmers aren't normally raking it in. On the other hand, the main character had markings of someone who was accomplished and had the nurture of family. Had culture and a love of the arts. The character was a whole author. That doesn't scream poverty. The only thing this character didn't have was health and time. I don't know if you have Intel on how much it cost to live in NY, especially alone. Well it ain't for the weak. Even a for the apartment the film revealed her having. That's like 3k/month or more. So that's more than 30k/year just for the apartment let alone food, pet, insurance, supplies, etc... she'd have to make a considerable amount to cover that. Not to mention her apartment remaining untouched even when SHE WAS GETTING FULL TIME CARE IN HOSPICE! That was definitely something that stood out for me. I'm an Accountant so I was adding in my head, like wait is she still paying rent? 😂
@@leeluv96 omg...u OK? Touch grass.

I’m being dead honest those scenes where the hordes of death angles are just sprinting. While the characters are just standing there in silence, are just so cool and scary.
Have to say, Joeseph Quinn really gave my wife and I “Robert Downey Jr vibes from Heart & Souls” in this
I literally said that to my bf when we were watching it last night.
I said the same thing to my friend last night ❤
Same!
AGREED!
my gf said the same thing!
Just left the theater and I really enjoyed it. Sams motivation was a little meh but given her perspective I’m not mad at it. The acting was rock solid and I jumped 5+ times
Really this movie was not scary at all?Didn't even seem like a horror movie
I jumped during that one scene where she woke up in a bed with all them cars outside the window, and I thought it was a flashback and they had to create a jumpscare out of it
I had to be prepared every time the scenes were quiet or there wasn’t a jumpscare in 3 minutes bc there were jump scares everywherr
I feel asleep, especially the pizza scene.
I saw another comment that spoke on what it was like living with someone who has Cancer, and how the specific thing they were craving was all they could eat and they would struggle with getting anything else. Sam's motiviation was that, she's going to die anyway so why not spend it with something familliar that she loves that reminds her of home. The world is ending and she's going to die anyway, why not have just a small piece of joy before it all ends. I think if you don't understand her nhilistic view it could seem half formed or "meh" as you called it, but I think it's quite poignent to a character who is still dying despite the world literally coming to and end.
The one glaring plot hole in this story is that people fart, cough, and talk in their sleep. I was in the medical community for 20 years, and I have kids. Kids talk/fart/cough in their sleep, adults talk/fart/cough in their sleep, and geriatrics definitely talk/shart/cough in their sleep. LOL! We would only last until we fell asleep and then it would be, "hey Jesus! What are you doing here? Oh wait....."
I don't know...if you watch the scene where there are hundreds of people walking through the city, there are small scuffing sounds and slight noises. What i get from it is that above any reasonable level the aliens hear you. It's just much safer to avoid speaking at all.
Especially with all those canned foods in a survival situation such as beans. I’d be breaking wind and the aliens would be breaking in.
@@frankdrebinn Hahahahahaha! This is gold!
@@blacksheep9505 Right! Beans give me gas like a mofo. I'd be deleted in less than a week.

I loved the film, I liked that there was more action. Also, I love that cats are finally getting the attention they deserve, they are truly so pure! ❤
I like cats but come on! The cat runs away in the city and magically was able to find her owner in the alley. That cat can also hold her breath and likes water...lol.
@@MrGreenvisioncats have nine lives buddy !
@@valentineyves and the death angel would take all of them
Cat ladies have been getting so much hate from US Vice-Presidential nominee J. D. Vance (Ohio Senator - Trump).
Liked it more than the second film. The actors did a phenomenal job. First two movies are about familial love, this one is more about humanity. Calling it Day one you might think you're getting an Independence Day takeover movie but its not that at all. Tiny bit of lore building happens with the aliens, not enough but some.
Saw it in a Dolby theater and the sound was terrifying.
The movie trains you to be quiet
Am I trippin or was there a bigger than usual death angel ?
Could that have been their queen or pack alpha?
Def was a huge one, Eric climbed up a decent height level and when the death angel rose up it was damn near eye level with him if not more.
YES. The one in the burning building scene was damn huge. It's head was almost as big as Eric's full body.
YES!! I was waiting someone for this comment! Cause that mf was huge!
@@caiorabbi3001as big as eric full body? mf it was a whole stadium, that thing was huge AF 😂
This is literally the first movie i could relate to the lead withtl transdermal opioids patches. Im telling you yes, the pains bad. But whats worse is the withdrawal. It happened to me a few times when it fell off because of the heat and had to wait a few days to get my real fill (one patch's last 7 days)
The first time it happened, it gave me a newfound respect for drug addicts coming of opioids. Granted I dont know what addiction feels like but withdrawal. I literally wanted to die. I Couldn't eat or sleep . Couldn't concentrate. This feeling of doom.
So i definitely would have scarfice mystery also
Wisdom tooth pain is greater
I personally really liked this one, especially over the second movie. I think what drove my enjoyment was the characters. It’s the same as the first one in my eyes, where yes the concept is brilliant, but my enjoyment comes from the family and their relationships as they survive.
I totally agree with you and couldn’t have said it better!
It was trash
It was way more high quality and more emotional and the ending was better imo but not much extreme happened as compared to the 2 and 1 movie
Same it was a step back to form from the first one
Agreed
I personally feel like they could just continue to make more and more of these films from different peoples perspectives/experiences and it would never get old and be just as thrilling every time.
Patsy’s is in Harlem, it’s really good pizza.
I wonder how much more business they’re gonna get now.
@@ElfHostageabout your moms juices worth that’s for sure
Lupita always kills 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️
I liked that after he almost cost them their lives, he makes it up by risking his to get the medicine.
Agreed. Sam and Eric both were amazing examples of humanity. Oscar-worthy performances.
I knew I don’t want tripping when Eric accidentally went into the creatures HIVE. And he ran into the “Queen”Monster. Cause that thing was incredibly huge. Bigger than the ones we have seen! That part was so cool! I wanted more lore on that. This part was pretty good for what it was, wanted to expand on the lore of the Death Angels.
I would like to see this from the military perspective!!
That scene really caught my attention. That one death angel was absolutely massive. But what was the deal with the egg things? I don't think they could have actually been eggs because the rest of the monsters were eating them
@@jessiegashler427 Its not an egg but rather its some sort of a mushroom
@@graynight I thought about that afterwards that it did look like some kind of fungus.
One thing to note the death angels never ever ate the humans or animals they killed, instead the creatures seem to be only eating the weird mushrooms things.
What’s great about this universe is that they have so much lore to expand on. We need to know if the creatures can be taught to be reasoned with. Or show empathy, love, and compassion.
Negative. The largest plot hole is the dry note he pulls out of his knit sweater after jumping into the bay and swimming to the boat.
Now you've gone and spoiled it!
:D
You did see a queen monster briefly
This is the comment I was looking! I KNEW I wasn’t tripping when I said that thing was HUGE!!
I noticed that too. I just wished they expounded more upon what these creatures because missing that information made this movie repetitive in story.
@@Oski3_ I would’ve wished they explored it a bit more. They kinda cut that scene off short, I wanted them to show that “Queen” monster more and what exactly they were eating, was it a nesting ground or? What? Cause that’s what I was interested in.
@@3IRDDYRIGHT?! The moment that thing walked away from him I was thinking “oh crap, that thing’s WAY bigger than the others!”
They might’ve left that open to introduce/explained it greater detail in the next sequel, just a thought
I like how the ending is connected to A Quiet Place Part II. Djimon Hounsou and others on the boat found an island to stay in the end, and that's what we saw in A Quiet Place Part II.
Quiet Place all have been character stories and I love them for that.
Me too!
I think you gave a fair assessment, I liked it a lot but besides the one scene in the construction site towards the end, there was not much added to the lore of the aliens. Very well done though
So why couldn't Eric and the cat just walk to the shore and swim without all that drama? The movie doesn't make sense. You could literally walk out of the city with out making a single sound..
I’m thinking if he walked slowly the boat would have left .. he needed to run to catch it .. and the sirens made the ppl on the boat know someone is coming so they should stop .
Saw it last night; pretty great film
I am really really perplexed with this review. I absolutely loved this movie. This was a fantastic job of making a high quality horror/drama movie that has a touching story within a bigger insane story. This really seems to be one of those situations where you, Paulie Bag of Popcorn, had expectations for the movie to be something different than it was. I originally thought it would be a more scientific and militaristic type entry into how this began and thought maybe it was an experiment gone wrong or something but when they showed that it was this in trailers a while ago I realized this is what it was. Not to mention that the emotional side to this movie was so touching. Quinn and Lupits are now two of my favorite actors. Brought tears to my eyes (much more to my wife’s eyes) at the end and leads us into what should be another solid part of this franchise. I’d like to see something different as well but won’t let it distract me from what this really is
“smashing up cars like the LIKE button.” - 😂😂
Just got home from it and i enjoyed it from someone that was born and raised in NYC it was really cool to see places i have been on screen. I feel like Lupitas acting was amazing as was Joseph’s. I think the movie was good not as strong as the other two but i think for a prequel it was good. The cancer aspect of the film truly had me in my feelings because my grandma died in a hospice. I would recommend it.
10:07 “ When you’re three movies into an alien franchise, you expect there to be some new information given about what they are… I thought that in this film we’d be fleshing things out more but it’s pretty bare bones.”
Well no shit. Of course there isn’t any new information about the aliens. It’s day one. They don’t know anything about the aliens yet. It makes total sense that we wouldn’t get any new info given the context.
There was new information tho ppl won’t bring it up tho. One. They nest and they eat their own eggs. Two they can talk to one another and hunt in herds effectively. Three. There’s a massive fucking creature whose head was the size of Eric.
@@Gingerboi101 yeah but no info on how the humans learned to adapt on Day One so quickly. Was New York not the first target for the aliens? Were the military alerted to other cities being hit before New York? How did they know the aliens couldn't swim ?
I feel like they figured out to be quiet too fast doesn't seem believable to me that people would catch on that fast I don't know how long lupita character was out for but she wakes up to theater full of people knowing to be quiet
@@radrobd123It is a life and dead situation. Of course, people would adapt quickly. It is just a simple pattern. The world is full of data, big data, and there are many ways to transport information. The angels are blind; they cannot perceive water; they had no concept of water. When they tried to catch a human, they fell into the water and died. Someone witnessed this, reported it, and now people are aware.

Best comment on this video!
I'll say this, this movie was not what I was expecting, but in a good way. I went in expecting one thing, but got something completely different, and it was still good. Certainly some major plot holes though, that cat in particular. Absolutely no way in hell ANY cat is staying that calm with a stampede of aliens 4 feet away 😂😂😂 Cat would somehow always magically show back up 🤨🤔🤷
I was hoping for more action honestly. I wanted to see the military vs the aliens and there wasn’t a whole lot of that.
I agree. Would’ve been cool to see how they planned on taking them out :/
It would've just been the military dying a lot. It was only the first couple days of the invasion so no one really knew anything other than to be quiet.
You could tell from the trailer that the whole movie was strictly going to be from the main character's perspective because the whole trailer was from her perspective. Wouldve been weird to cut to some epic military battle, especially in a relatively short movie. How would the military even set something like that up in 2-3 days in a densely populated area?

I completely disagree with you...this movie was done excellently...the bond you see play out in real time is beautiful...despite the world being invaded they still find a way to look past that and focus on helping each other...she is dying and in some ways here was pit there to help in her final moments...she helps him to get through his own anxiety of being alone and no has a new friend after she sacrifices herself, the car which represents her life....its not a movie of seeing what we already saw...its seeing it from a different perspective...yeah the environment may be the same but people can see a rainbow and view it differently...I would encourage everyon to see this story of survival, Compassion and bonding from 2 strangers vs a family...I think you're reaching for things to complain about brah...but as your just said..we see this movie differently...1ne

It’s not that deep. Literally the same movie as the last one. Movies don’t need to have some sort of deep complex message that only film school kids understand.

DAY ONE. WORST MOVIE, Dissapointed. / 1,2 is Real A Quiet Place Movie.
It was a very good movie and well shot! The alien chase sequences were amazing! Also that ending was so sad! I'm assuming the sequel would focus on Joseph Quinn and Djimon Hounsou's characters.
i don’t see how it could tbh. they went to an island and stayed there, but for some reason eddie munson wasn’t in “a quiet place 2” but his character ends there
What did this movie show us the other 2 films didnt show us. This movie didnt need to be made. The plot didnt move at all.
I'm in the camp that really doesn't give a hoot about who the monsters are and why they're doing what they're doing. Sam and Eric had such a sad beautiful experience together. These movies shouldn't be about the monsters. They should be more anthological, and this story incidentally took place on day one. I loved the crap out of this. Although I would've enjoyed it more of I had known from the get go that Frodo doesn't die 🥵
PSA EVERYONE, NOTHING BAD HAPPENS TO THE CAT. YOU CAN ENJOY THE MOVIE ON ITS MERITS AND NOT THIS CHEAP ANXIETY INJECTION 🥵🥵🥵
so what about the scene where the aliens are near the eggs? i always wonder about that
I have to disagree with the criticism about not telling us anything new about the creatures. The movie is literally called "A quiet Place: DAY ONE" Can't expect them to show us anything that the characters don't know seeing as how it's the first time they encounter the creatures. I do agree that the story was of human nature with aliens in the background. I like the "What would you do if it was your last day on earth" aspect of it and her ending was poetic. In the end the cancer didn't win. She went out happy, having done what she wanted to do the most. Be connected to her father. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
I leanred new things from the death angles
1.they live in a hive or main base
2.they have a queen or alpha
3.they use humans as shells or something along the lines to eat
I keep hearing people call this one more of a thriller than a horror like the first two and I totally disagree. While there is definitely more spectacle and action, I found the scary scenes in this film way scarier than any in the first two. For example, there is the more more action heavy scene in the trailers with them being chased through the business building, but The whole sequence following that in the subway and the deep water was absolutely horror it was so terrifying. Very resident evil. Hell even the louder scenes are still horror to me. Godzilla is a movie with monsters killing people in a city. That’s an action thriller. Because of how it is presented. This movie is about monsters killing people in a city but can you tell me it feels anything like Godzilla? Just because something is loud and feels like action doesn’t make it not horror.
Also, this video proves again why I don’t come to your channel for reviews.. nothing in this movie that makes it a must watch? Just skip this one? Okay bro. Calling this movie the weakest of the three, insinuating it’s worse than the consistently stupid and underwhelming part 2 is honestly wild to me. At least in Day One not every character constantly makes the dumbest possible decisions just to create artificial peril and tension…
After the first Quiet Place , I came home with a full box of popcorn as it was SO quiet i didn't want the crunching of munchies breaking the silence and COVID shut down cinemas here Wednesday before a Thursday opening of Q.P 2 ☹. Thanks buddy well done as always.
Yep i had skittles and i kept trying to eat some during the moments the characters were able to talk 😂
A baby started crying and in my mind i immediately remembwred Beau
Wow where do u live that there are still covid shut downs? I didn’t think any government would let that happen again…
Fun fact they filmed a scene at the grand which is a club in London and my brother was able go get me a autograph of one of the actors while they was filming!
quality film. character building is the core of any story. I hope the next prequel is "before day one" i think there's a dooms day ark secretly built.
Speaking of new information on the aliens, my sister and I noticed they were eating something when English guy was trying to get the cat down. We have always been curious about their diet since they’re from another world and clearly aren’t eating humans or animals. It was some egg/spider web looking thing that didn’t look earthly at all. I wish they had touched on that a bit more or showed it better.
I'd actually come to this review specifically to see whether they caught that and if so what theories they had for what it was. Any thoughts @heavyspoilers? Another video perhaps?
I got bored watching this. Did not keep me intrested.
After losing my dad, movies just seem to be about loss. I was very empathetic with Sam's character and i totallt understood her drive to just relive that memory one last time. I cried three times during this film, lol.
I have to disagree with needing to know more about the creatures. I like how mysterious they are as it leaves to be terrifying not know why they are here and why they are killing us
Movie was so disappointing first one was great second a lil worse too much useless dialogue. The cat gets most of the film performances subpar 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
I think Eric writing "Patsy's" on the box represents that it was never about the pizza. What she craved was returning to the memories she made there. And that was what Eric was able to give her. A few more happy memories before the end.
It opened questions for me. What happened to the huge numbers of aliens between invasion day and day 300+? Like did an actual big battle ocvur, but both alien and humanity failed to survive? Because there were thousands of them in New York City alone. So multiply that times everywhere else they landed.
When cats get scared they turn into murder beasts. They are lucky the cat didn’t rip them apart.
Movie was very inconsistent & the cat was a pointless addition that took me out the film almost every scene. Name should be Plot Armor instead of Frodo. 5/10.. it had its moments but was definitely worst film of the 3 so far.
The one thing I can't stop nitpicking is that the creatures make a lot of noise. I guess their brains filter out noises they make?
Otherwise I really like this franchise.
I feel like since they had they're own planet for probably millions of years, I think they got used to their sounds like they can recognise who is who
@@Ember8 yeah but when a creature breaks a window, the other creatures don't immediately react
Always a joy seeing your videos pop up in my sub box. Realising the first A Quiet Place movie was near the start of your channel really put it in perspective that I’ve been with you since the super early days. It’s been super cool seeing you grow (both professionally and personally) over the years. Love you always brother ✌🏻
Cheers mate, much love
Thank you for not calling the aliens death angels… my god what a corny nickname, must have been a teenager that thought of it.
lol true
Death Daredevils, after the superhero with super hearing?
(I'll see myself out....)
I give this movie 2/10 because it was so bad. Why would anyone with a brain risk their life and others for a damn cat in an alien invasion? Then Lupita wants to go to Harlem to get pizza instead of evacuating? Seriously the stupidest movie ever!

The aliens can survive in vacuum space without air and will not suffocate, but will drown in water due to lack of air.
That does not make sense.
THIS MOVIE SUCKED, it bored us to tears, answers no questions and basically nothing happens. Don’t fall for the media campaign. Oh and yea, the cat makes it after using up all 9 lives about 15 times.
Enjoyed the movie, it was a good movie, good storyline and good character development. The concept of having this movie in NY it was great, having such a dense population.
I enjoy the pizza hunt (made me hungry), and the overall focus on you can find a little bit of happiness where the world is literally falling apart, regardless of her current health condition.
I was hoping to see Emily Bunt or John Krasinski by the end of the show, it should have been a good connection to the following movie.
It would have been better exploring how they figure it out that noise attract the aliens, and that they couldn't swim. The scene where the aliens were eating, it was confusing, as you could clearly see they are not a technological develop being, which opens a bigger question, how do they know to come to earth? (probably a rhetorical question)
Overall liked it, definitely the weakest of the 3. The actor/actress were on point, good chemistry. Cat had a bit too much focus, nitpicky but mentionable, also no way a cat ain’t hissing when one those things is near and don’t think they hold their breath very well, just a few unbelievable parts, but not that essential to the plot so whatever.
Biggest criticism is this movie doesn’t really show the learning curve of being quiet, kinda rushed past that and the entire plot is pointless to the big picture minus the cameo of the dude at the island in part 2.
Still enjoyable watch overall because if the actor/actress performance
I was not invested in any of the characters. A dying woman who, during an alien invasion, wanted nothing but day's old pizza from a specific place that could have been destroyed like the rest of NYC. A cat that never acted like any cat I have seen in my life, and a man who was scared and cried in almost every scene more than everybody else combined. Part 2 explained what happened during day one. This was just in another area of the country from a different perspective. This movie added nothing new to the franchise, and imo this is the worst one.
The most boring alien movie in a while. Wanted to see more aliens not humans the majority of the time. The cat got more screen time than the Aliens. Like W T F. Should have called it something else, and just remove the aliens. We've already had the humans for 2 movies now three. Give the aliens some more back story and screen time dammit.
QP Day One was really so good to the point that someone's phone rang in the movie and EVERYONE in the theater gasped and turned their heads toward the dude with his phone and someone said 'We would of DIED" laughter ensured for like 2minutes
I was hoping to get more back story on the aliens and where they came from but clearly this wasn't it. This could've been something that should have just been made for streaming because it wasn't worth going to the theaters to see. Finally they should have let that cat die because i wouldn't have risked my life the way they did in this movie for him.
Stupid and unoriginal….aliens in New York but here’s the catch no sound, would have been 1000 times better based in Alaska or some remote regions or even as a high budget television series
What needs to be explained? I thought it was pretty obvious what happened
A tad negative there Paul. At a time where cinemas are struggling to get character driven stories you are quite hard on this one imo. 😮. A wizard should know better. Love the channel mate.
Froto & the cat distribution 😂 I enjoyed it. Superb acting a lot of emotion with action despite still no knew news of these threats.
The Church scene was probably my favorite part. I just feel like Religion should've been expanded on in the previous films. In a world ending scenario like this especially in the first few days, people would definitely turn to God for help.
It was also an Orthodox church.
Maybe it was a subtle show of support for Ukraine, which has been under invasion since 2014.
My review of this movie is it felt like A Quiet Place the anime because only in a anime would you risk your own life for a slice of pizza 🍕 plus an anime cat 🐈 I was half expecting narration from the protagonist in hee mind but I do love the movie for showing how people and aliens were adapting to the situation like the aliens learning what the sounds of a million person march sneaking by is or humans discovering water is their friend
I’ve loved all three films the acting has been outstanding all due to the direction of John Krasinksy
I have watched since day 1. When heavy spoilers was really about heavy spoilers. Miss those days
BAD: it's the first one I watched. GOOD: Now I can watch all 3 in succession!
As a New Yorker who saw this on 34th Street and walked up to Times Square to go home - I love how they captured so much of the city outside of the normally shown areas of NY. I used to live by Patsy’s and that in itself made me settle into my chair.
You should have titled this video as a review not a breakdown or explained video. I was waiting the whole video for you to explain something. Like the way bigger alien in the “nest” scene and whatever they are making/eating there. Or her poem and its relevance to the themes?
Movie was a huge let down
I was actually surprised by how much I loved this movie. The first two were also surprisingly good because I’m not usually a fan of jump scares or really being afraid in general but I was so emotionally invested in this story. When going to a monster movie, I never expected to be crying at the end. The actors are incredible and really blew me away by their performance, and I love Frodo!
Sorry to hear you were let down, Paul but thank you for covering this movie. There hasn’t been much I’ve been watching with my favorite TH-camrs lately so it was good to be back with you :)
Keep up the good work!
I felt like the movie was rushed im a fan but this could of went straight to netflix
I thought it was a great movie it definitely was scary because I haven’t seen the others in a good minute but I’m surprised you didn’t talk about how we finally got to see the aliens actually eat? Or the fact that there was a bigger one?
I been smashing the like button since day one 😂😂
the movie sucked
Great performances and very well made, but agree it does nothing to advance the franchise story. However, it was a very human story that you don’t see as much in horror/ sci-fi.
Overall, it’s a fine movie. My theory to make this movie necessary in the franchise and for Part 3 is that Eric will be a main character and his knowledge of the aliens’ nest location in the city will be a part of the aliens’ global downfall
Good prediction
The magic trick scene is my favorite moment in the whole trilogy so far tbh. I was sitting with my sister holding back tear because of how sweet honestly human it felt. They took time to just BE there you know and have a laugh.
I loved it ❤ the relationship with the caracters was really reminiscent of the first movie. With a tad bit more action.
This really didnt add to the series. Need more about the aliens.
Boring movie and didn't provide any new content to the world.
