Thanks for the great video. The ACS website instructions were terrible. I wasted an hour trying to watch and rewatch those videos and read their paper instructions. Your video was spot on and I was able to install it in about 30- 45 minutes. Thanks!
When you drill metal slow your rpm's way down with steady pressure and a little light weight oil. This will keep the heat down and actually speed up the process.
I installed one this summer and really like it. Cut plenty off the handle and sides then welded it to the top of deck. Used weld through primer, harbor freight easy flux 125, harbor freight cut-off wheels, heavy duty angle grinder and red krylon that matches perfectly. Used it in down position today mulching up leaves and then striped yard with it up.
Just got one and installed it today to mulch up leaves… works excellent! I did the same thing you guys did and had it on the wrong side. Lol. Nice upgrade no doubt.
The advanced chute is one of the best designed chute blockers on the market. It’s always nice to have one on your zero turn, because you can control it easier.
Nice install guys. Ill give ya a heads up pro tip. When installing the spring, use 20 inches of trimmer line. The pliers seemed to work fine, but the whippy cord trick is nice incase the spring lets go in the pliers.
Love Ballard products but for chute blockers, I’ve found the Grass Flap is the best option for us. Quick tap of the pedal and you get to keep your hands on the sticks, plus no handle to get snagged on limbs or heavy shrubs. Only downside is that it’s a little more expensive.
I've installed over 8 of these. This install is correct. Just keep the plastic washers greased and don't overtorque the nuts. Try not to bend the handle too much.
Hey guys, we’ll have a whole video later this week showing it in action. It works like a wonder on the MultiForce, more to come! QUICK SUGGESTION! Before you install your blocker, watch this video at least once ALL THE WAY THROUGH! It will really help you understand the install process, and then go back through and skip around if you get stuck on a phase of the install. Hope this helps!
Hey brotha, that red plate you took off with the bagger pulley isn't supposed to be removed. That's a standard plate that's on all Turbo Force decks and helps with the aerodynamics of getting the grass out of the last chamber of the deck.
I just installed one on my weight stander B mower this past weekend. I was disappointed that I had to remove the pulley covers because the bolts provided aren’t long enough. I also wished the videos on their website were a little better detailed, so I could of used your video the other day lol. However, First day mowing with this shoot cover, I should of bought this earlier in the season.
I am still growing my company and was originally thinking of when I buy my stander next season having this and switching to the catch pro when I do my Thursday and Friday lawns that pay extra to be bagged, but I may just keep looking for other options
Thinking about adding a small stand-on next season to the trailer to fit through those stubborn single gates. Currently running two 61” Scags and a 60” Kubota 1211 but I’m tired of having to have somebody push mow those backyards. Especially in July and August…
Great video Brain, I wish Ballard would make a foot operating chute blocker I just don’t like having that handle to get caught on tree limbs and that it doesn’t open 180 degrees to get through fence gates and other tight spaces.
Right? Love all their other products but I run all Grass Flaps because it’s faster to tap it with my foot and keep both hands on the sticks - plus I don’t have to worry about it snagging on stuff (already get my face caught enough stuff).
Great video, but I think mower $5000 and up should come with mulching kit. They should know we have grass clippings and other objects can be Thrown at customers house, cars, and flowerbeds. Just my opinion. And the powerful The mower. The further the clippings are thrown.
I’m sorry I am new to using a blocker my only question is is there a way to have it adjust to where it’s still able to deflect with it Instead of being all the way open
Hi Brian, Thanks for the video. My question is, will the blockers fit any zero turn or stander mower? I run a 52", 48" zero turn and a 52" stander. All Exmark.
If you ever have trouble opening it and closing it like if it starts getting harder and harder just throw some WD-40 on it just about every time or every other time you use it and I will be smoother than when you put it on
The piece that came from under the deck when you removed the bagger pulleys was supposed to stay on. It's a part of the deck not added with the bagging set up
@@BriansLawnMaintenance did you reinstall the piece you removed? It's to keep the clippings from being recycled within the deck and helps to "force" the grass out of the deck. I'm curious because Randy removes all of his.
I like to shoot blocker but I didn't like the shower of grass when it was down. Added a rubber seal to stop that. Would think this was something that would have already been worked out.
I felt the same way for a long tine, but tbh it wasn’t really a big deal, and looking back on it, there isn’t any real concern. I’m happy to have this blocker on here and compared to other units out there, it’s a small price to pay for a really good option for a chute blocker that works
Mine won't sit flush it's annoying. They asked for pics, I sent pics now they want a video like that's gonna help them tell me why it won't sit flush. As soon as I get it to actually sit flush and tighten the bracket down bam it bows again.
Bad Boys mowers makes the advanced chute system I thought. Ballard just sells them in his website. Ballard blades on the other hand his company does make. And as far as living somewhere there is a lot of sand like here in Florida.... I have used all kinds of blades and I tried the Ballards at double the cost of most other blades and I learned that they do NOT like sand at all. In fact they last not even through 10 yards before the sand blasted them so much... The fin separated from the rest of the blade on all 3. Any other blade I've ever used last wayyyyyyyyy longer. Absolute crap product.

I watched your video and SOLD. I must now have one. Thanks for the education

I wish I'd seen this comment and bought the one you did. The ACB is cheesy and very cheaply made 👎
Helpful tip, I had to use vice grips to pull the spring over the bolt
Finally!! I have been patiently waiting for this !! A video on how to install these on a multi force.
Got you 💯🙏
Awesome video! Exciting start to a new season!
I got mine a few months ago. Love it!!!
Thank you! This was much needed. Installing mine today!
Just ordered one and some blades from Ballard. Thanks for the video.
You bet!
Thanks for the video. I need to invest in one as well. I’ve been putting it off!

Love my Ballard ACS and I used your discount code. Thank you Brian 💯
Hey thanks Tom!
I needed this video 3 days ago 😂
Sorry lol
Ballard’s ACS rocks !!
I broke like 6 bits drilling into my utility trailer 😂 i thought I was the only one
came to see how to install the cam lol the only detail that you left out 😂
Watching this I was going to suggest the Milwaukee drill bit set and walla that’s what you got 😎
😎
When you remove the chute system for the bagger. Make sure to put some Toro Touch up Paint on those holes to prevent the rust.
Good tip!
Love the videos Mr Brian thank you
God bless

That’s a popular route if you need to bag, best off luck pal

Actors working hard. 😆
I just installed one yesterday on my Gravely ZT HD... not sure what the cam and cotter pin are for but works fine without them.
Great video, but a lot more difficult than it looks at least on our Ferris stander.
Heyo, my husband (
That's awesome. It's worked great, no issues so far!
I have the grass flap on my lazer z and it is great

What type of lift are you using
Which ACS model works on a grandstand 36” help!
Can you do some demo with kubota
I’ll see what I can do!
Does this option have the extended handle?
All comercial mowers have that side flat , but the residential mower are kind round I’m not sure it works same way?

Can you add a accelerator catcher with the advanced chute blocker on.Thankyou Brian!!
I would imagine yes since it mounts the same way. At least on the Exmark/Toro deck!
I’m sorry I am new to using a blocker my only question is is there a way to have it adjust to where it’s still able to deflect with it Instead of being all the way open

I'd double check with Ballard's Instagram or website first with a message. They'll be able to let you know better!
If you don’t have a metal punch to get you started use a small drill bit first.
I may buy one for a older walkbehind Toro proline like ur exmark
If you ever have trouble opening it and closing it like if it starts getting harder and harder just throw some WD-40 on it just about every time or every other time you use it and I will be smoother than when you put it on
Thank you good tip!
@@BriansLawnMaintenance yeah no problem
Hey, Brian do you have to run mulching blades with a chute blocker?
Just high lift except in spring/fall for leaves.
I have the exmark foot pedal shoot blocker but grass still shoots out around it and into my beds. I wonder if I should just switch to this.
On my next Lazer I’m going to install this one. The Exmark one isn’t bad, but I’m just personally done messing with cables.
If i have the accelerator industry bagger attachment on my Scag VR2, will the chute be in the way?
That I am not sure apologies

Isn't there a special bracket now where you dont have to drill into the deck anymore?
Just bought one for my Grandstand. Is the standard pole long enough to reach from the plat form?
You have to bend over a tad but it’s honestly no issue
I like to shoot blocker but I didn't like the shower of grass when it was down. Added a rubber seal to stop that. Would think this was something that would have already been worked out.
Mine isn't flush at the bottom so I need to do the same what did you use Exactly? Thank you
I miss Conner already 😇
He’ll be back one day I’m sure ha
Nice chute blocker, but boring holes in the deck would be a no go for me

Possibly with the angle of the drilled hole?

Thanks for the feedback. Try the laser edge blades, those seem to do well with sandy soil conditions. Have you tried them?
I’ve had one of these for a month now. What a pile of crap!
I do not recommend this--I threw it away and bought the Grass Flap. Pay a nickel more and go first class
common sense your shop should had plasma cutter instead drill bits
That would be a complete overkill not to mention a waste of money bud just for a couple of holes.
Lol. I'll just get my multithousand dollar plasma cutter out to make 3 pilot holes. Got it.
