    This technique certainly isn't a piece of cake 🍰 Yet it is one of my all time favourite guitar techniques. Usually reserved for intros to ballads, the harp harmonic technique can sound spellbinding. Have you tried this technique before? All comments and suggestions on ways to improve my video lessons is much appreciated 🤝 See you next Wednesday for another lesson 🎸

    Great lesson, always loved doing these! Tommy Emmanuel just uses these so beautifully, just awesome to use. Thanks so much for sharing!

    This is a great lesson, is there a PDF of the sequences that can be downloaded?

      Thanks - I'd forgotten to upload it to my site. Just sorted that out now:www.jazzguitarwithandy.com/blog/harp-harmonics

    Appreciate that you show alternative patterns. I play almost exclusively in open tunings (primarily Open G, Drop C, and Open D). Is there a particular pattern you would recommend if Iʻm just barring a fret for a chord (perhaps adding a 9th)?

      I think those open tunings would be perfect for these! It's not something I really do, but if you had open G and say barred fret 5 some of the following could sound cool:
      555755 = add9
      555757 = 6/9
      555558 = dominant 7th
      558655 = 7b9
      Maybe try those to start

      @@jazzguitarwithandy Thanks a ton. Iʻve been practicing with add 9 for now. I actually was referring to the picking pattern though vice chord shape :).

      @@DaveKawikaFiely sorry I misunderstood what you were asking!
      I'd imagine the same sort of patterns as I used would work. For me it works best when you are skipping strings. Thing to avoid is having two of the same notes next to each other in a pattern.

      @@jazzguitarwithandy Thanks! I figured out that though open tunings offer new ways to play chords, the challenge for harp harmonics is not playing two same notes one after the other. Regardless....GREAT videos. Keep it up. (Dave)
