- We embark on a 5 day voyage across the North Sea! We're sailing our floating home from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Inverness, Scotland. It's not the most ideal time of year to be sailing the North Sea in as we get near Winter and we've got a tight weather window to make it up to Scotland. Wing on wing for some downwind sailing, cooking underway and a brief stop in England to get our customs and immigrations process sorted as we transit between the EU and the UK before continuing to the start of the Caledonian Canal.

Hi guys, again great content, really interesting to see how you cope with night traffic. Visiting all my holiday places gave me a real buzz as Iam in nz these days. I flew to Inverness once and cycled the Caledonian canal and Caledonian back to the uk via the western isles. The place the people are fantastic, and the food. Good luck guys, we love you both. Tough time to be in the North Sea... While in the Coast Guard I spent many a patrol in the North Atlantic and it can get nasty there too... but then again, the Ships I sailed on were much larger than JibSea. BE SAFE!!!

I'm usually jealous of people sailing while I'm at work in my dark lab. Not today looking at your video. I prefer my worm office even knowing I will have to shovel the 20 cm of snow we just received once I get home. I did sail in those conditions on properly equip boat (full enclosure and great heating system) and it was not fun. So I'm very curious of your plan now.

By taking the Caledonian canal, you are going to miss out on some of the most impressive Highland coastal views available. Granted, it appears that going all the way round Scotland can be pretty rough.
We’ve been to Scotland 2 times prior this season and cruised the outer Hebrides which were amazing!
Hi. I've messaged u before about the spinnaker pole length but, you never got back to me. I owned a Passage 42 from 2013 until 2021. If you are not to far up the coast, call in at Holy Island or Berwick-upon-Tweed which is £17 a night. Then, Eyemouth or direct to Arbroath where Casper, my 460/466 is berthed. Say hello to Bruce the harbour master. Good pub, Weatherspoons, cheap as pennies for a meal and pint included. Day sailing, beautiful Stonehaven and then continue north🙂
Thanks for the recs! As for our whiskerpole, we’ve never measured it so we don’t know, came with the boat when we purchased her so we’ll have to get back to you at a later time for that
Forget it! 3-4 months before my first question to u about the length of your spinnaker pole. It would take 2 minutes to measure the pole yet u are to busy trying to get subscribers or patrons to support your sailing. I will not use TH-cam to pay my saiilng.. Goodbye. Unscibed 👋

Why back to Scotland? Just curious. I figured you would be headed either northwest toward Norway and Sweden or (more likely) south toward the Med. I follow along either way, but just curious.
We mentioned that we’re headed to a marina and that waiting for weather windows along the south coast of the UK (same way we took to get to the Netherlands) would be a challenge
