  • Agent X II / Agent X 2, Mastertronic, 1987,Commodore 64 version
Surprisingly, Agent X II on Commodore 64 is a sequel to "Agent X" published for ZX Spectrum! This is in fact a combination of three different games which are presenting three different classic game genres: a shoot'em up, a platform jumper and a wall breaking game (=break out clone). On this video I show how you can easily modify the graphics of this game. Additionally, the usual cheat POKES are there.
If you like the graphics POKE trick done on this video, you may want to see similar trick done to Ninja Spirit? Video here:

My videos include cheat POKEs for the games. POKEs require a reset switch. If you don't have a reset switch in your Commodore 64, you may be interested checking my instruction video, how to build one:

Unfortunately music in game 2 is corrupt.

Nice vid! Sorry but did you play the sound with a 8580 chip? It was meant for 6581.

      Yes, seems I did.

Just made the comparison. As you suspected, 6581-chip sounds right for game 2. Now that the video is already published, seems the crazy 8580-chip version of the music will be the selection on this video. I feel both sad and on the other hand amused by this... Thanks for the feedback though, this is a good lesson learned for my videos in future.

The music of Tim Follin. Unmistakable style one of my favorite authors for c64!! Which musician do you like for C64?

There are so many. It all started with Rob Hubbard and Martin Galway. I think Tim is in the top 10. Jeroen Tel also comes to mind among others.

@@JoachimWijnhoven71 It's true there are many. It's difficult to choose a favorite.

Vertical shooter part feels a bit generic. The platform part is much better
