As a chronically ill patient, I'm deeply appreciative of the kind, patient, highly competent receptionists and office managers I've met on my journey to diagnosis and (continued) treatment. While I always bring specific notes, and make sure to verbally express my gratitude to all healthcare admin staff, your video pointed out things I could do better to make their jobs easier. Thank you, Mira. :)
Honestly if you brought that type of worker chocolate she would probably cry on the spot and list you as her next of kin on any official documents for the rest of her life

Honestly one of the best compliments I ever got was from a district nurse. I had long term complicated care they needed to come twice daily to help with, and they were amazing, I’d chat to them or just straight up say “I’m really tired” or “I’m not my best today” and apologise for not being social those days. One day a nurse smiled after I had to call for help late at night and I apologised for being awkward, “No love honestly, you’re our easiest patient, your treatment isn’t the easiest but you’re not rude, you’re not mean, you’re honest with us if anything changes, you offer us food and drink, it’s a delight to come here especially after some of our other patients. Please never feel you’re putting us out, we love to come and see you, make sure you’re okay”. And I cried for like an hour after that
This video reminds me of my favorite tweet of all-time: "This is great! I'm going to get a good-grade in (being-a-patient), something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve!"
I havent worked as a medical receptionist but I've been a hotel receptionist and the amount of times someone has thought that i was stealing their information has driven me up the wall. "No ma'am, I'm not trying to steal your credit card information, i just need it to reserve the room for you. That's how... every transaction... works."
When I worked in a kitchen, a customer called in because they wanted to order some food for delivery to a friend who had a death in the family. The customer "couldn't make it down to us" before the delivery they wanted to schedule in 2 or 3 days, and they didn't want to pay by card over phone. I had to explain to them that if they are buying catered food delivered to someone else, we can't fulfill and deliver the order until they paid for it. They ended up giving their credit card number
There was an older / senior aged receptionist at my local drs office that recently retired. She was pleasant enough with other patients, but her whole demeanor would change when I walked in. I miss her so much, she was the best part of my experience going to the doctors. I loved how disgruntled she was and how she’d share some frustrations with me occasionally
Lol But it really does go both ways.. I see plenty of times when the patients (including myself) are being perfectly polite and are just checking in, and the receptionist can be extremely rude.
I don't think I've ever clicked something so fast in my life. Missing the admin at my orthodontist's office, and the admin at the hospital I frequented for MRIs 🥺 I was only in every 6 months but she always remembered me
Some people don't want to "be like other girls". I? I don't want to be like other customers. I want to be nice, sweet, accommodating. I want to be the day's favorite customer that did everything perfectly and gained approval. Thank you for making an ASMR to capture that feeling LOL
I worked in customer service for about 20 years, and so I try to be very nice to admin staff/receptionists. A good relationship is helpful when one needs a bit of flexibility. At my last doctor's visit, the receptionist needed to know my current meds (since I needed a prescription refill); I was prepared with a written list. The background music is very soothing, thank-you.

You have one of the best,"My irritation is boiling over; but for the sake of my own sanity and professionalism, I am choosing not to scream " faces I have ever seen,I just wanted you to know how talented you are at that.
This is both super soothing and triggering at once. Anyone who worked in customer service know the pain of having entitled clients/patients but also the absolute joy of having a good one. 10/10 will watch again. Thank you for this :)

I should tell my doctor we need complimentary beverages in the waiting room. "I saw it in a video!" She'd probably tell me to stop viewing videos and go for a walk.
While this is not a medically related story I do currently work as a front desk agent at a local hotel and just the other night I had a pair of guests scare off other potential guests by making a big production about finding a bug in their room. They claimed the entire hotel was infested and that it was my job to make them a reservation at another hotel and pay to dry clean ALL of their clothes.
I never knew I needed this so much! Unfortunately, it does mean I will be chasing this IRL forever. Good luck and godspeed in all your endeavors, and thanks for the tingles!

It's videos and comments like this that forever gratify my decision not to become a practioner and stick to the engineering side of medicine. As I have told many a family and friend who asked why I didn't become a physician "I do not have the patience for patients."
I once went to the doctor and I felt something about the receptionist that handled me was off, but I didnt think too much about it. So I checked in with her and went to the waiting room. After two hours (!) I was like "Ok this cant be real, I am going to ask whats going on", so I went back to the reception only to be told that my receptionist quit her job pretty much directly after I checked in (not related though, just coincidence) and she didnt actually check me in. So much wasted time 😂
this was sooo so relaxing i enjoyed it a lot, but also ur micro-expressions were sending me 😭 absolutely love the acting that u do for these roleplays!! and ur makeup looked very lovely as well
I genuinely hope this becomes a recurring character, just like the artist. I feel like medical staff goes through so much bs that you’ll never run out of video ideas.
20:29 bruh the look on her face as she says have a wonderful day, specifically the word "day" XDDD the way her mouth moves around that word it's like three parts disgust and seven parts fear, fear that she's actually putting that into the world, that she might in some way manifest a wonderful day for this human into the causal loop
One very simple day of a phone customer service girl....to every person doing this job, you are a hero, truly :) i ONE TIME answered the phone where i work, ONCE and i nearly started a war with a Clinique. They wanted very specific stitches for me to bring them, stiches that i told them they we don't have ready for sale/delivery, so i'd have to go by them and then come to the Clinique (which was no problem) while our offices was about 40klm away + another 10 klm to go buy it and i had to do all that in 20 minutes (this is the actual problem) and they would pay later (which is very common for Cliniques and hospitals)......After emphasizing that this time table is not possible, they replied that they do not care, they have to have them in 20 minutes, so i went like, OK I'm guessing you have already send a chopper to pick me up and she went huh ? Well how else you want to cover about 50klm in 20 minutes with a stop to get the stiches and the traffic. She asked what chopper am i talking about and if this was humor on my part and i replied that i literally believe that she is doing a prank call because there is FLAT ZERO chances that a doctor, an educated person, with a degree, could do something SO FREAKING BRAINDEAD STUPID like starting a surgery without checking that he/she has the correct stiches to stich up the patient when they're done, in order to be in such a hurry to have them .......right ?????? RIIIIIGHT ???? OMFG you, actually get PAID for this :| ?? She replied to someone (probably the doctor) that we don't have them and she hanged up... My Boss came to me, hugged me, told me that an answer like this is what he wanted to shout himself at a costumer for YEARS, told me to go home because he gives me the rest of the day off and gave me out of his wallet 20$ to buy a pizza or something to eat (no i'm not joking 😂😂 ) but he also wanted me to NEVER ANSWER ANY PHONE AT WORK EVER AGAIN 😂😂😂😂no i wasn't fired, I'm still working there

Gurl, you're so talented that this is honest to go triggering me; I was a medical receptionist at a small rural community health center that would incorrectly pop up as the first option when you googled "free clinics in [the town]". I FELT that first telephone call in my bones. My favorite event was when a lady called saying that her husband was VOMITING BLOOD. I politely advised that she take him to the ER. The head nurse overheard and scolded me for not transferring it back to a nurse. So that she could maybe connect with someone who'd tell her the same thing, but more likely get an answering machine? Okay, Lana.
idk this is probably more of a joking theme but it genuinely makes me less anxious about the idea of going to see a doctor haha ❤ thanks for sharing your amazing work, you never fail to make me smile and relax! edit: oh my god 10:46 the ULTIMATE customer service experience haha

I loved my job when I was an urgent care receptionist (moved, had to change jobs 😞) but also yeah that initial call was such a mood and I kept thinking “well this seems familiar”
This is too real! I am a medical assistant and I hear my poor front office gals getting yelled at all the time. My favorite is making the patients feel bad and then they end up apologizing on the way out, for thing out of our control.

Not a medical story, but Food Service. A customer had come in the night before, paid with a 50, and got the correct change. The next day, the customer and their adult son came in, claiming that they'd paid with a $100 and had been shorted $50. My boss checked the safe, and the numbers for the night before, everything matched as being paid with a 50, which the receipt showed. Customer started yelling, so I (6'5") stepped around the line, and asked my boss if everything was alright. Customer stepped back again, then started accusing ME of having been the one that took the money, (I had actually not even worked the day before, and never worked the night shift) I kinda laughed at her, and explained just how wrong she was. Lady went back to complaining we'd stolen $50 from her. Boss checked the cameras, and SAW that it was paid with a $50, and the lady still kept trying to say it wasn't. We explained everything, and asked the customer to leave. She started cursing, at which point the phones came out, and we informed her that if she DIDN'T leave, we'd have the police eject her and have her tresspassed. (arrested for tresspassing, and never allowed back). She stormed off with her son in tow. She kept calling back about the issue, just generally harrassing the store. The next day, her SON came back with a weapon on his hip (not drawn, but visable), he started shouting about the money, at which point, with the weapon on display and the immediately hostile behavior, my boss called the police, and the guy ended up actually in jail. Edit: Just want to say I know that pain, I used to work in customer service/tech support for a number of years. It's sad that food service isn't nearly as stressful. Also I LOVE that keyboard, so pretty
as person who works as a call responder (not First responder or health care) People who call you then you tell them your not what they need and they get mad at you is as frustrating if not more than doing customer service because its always like "There is so much shit I could say, but this is my only source of Income so I can't."
You know, I hate when people over pronunciate harsh sounding letters in asmr... this is the most soothing, relaxing video I've ever watched. Love it! First 2 minutes of me ever watching your channel and already this good!💖🥰
Honestly, I always try to be a good customer/patient because of how notoriously terrible any service job tends to get. And whenever I'm actually *told* that a service worker likes me, I'm both delighted and heartbroken. But yes, it's soothing as hell. *EDIT* The way the hope and light leaves your eyes as you realise the man didn't finish filling in the form was too hecking real and WOOF- Reminds me way too much of my nurse friend, my retail friend and myself when I was on door greeting during the Christmas season. 😂😂😂
This video came on the perfect day for me. Just finished the first week at a new job I can be somewhat proud of, and now it's time to relax. I have also learned that I've been saying Mira wrong. I've been saying it my-ra, like the Mira River
I know that my doc receptionists are always amazed when I took the time to visit the practive website, download the forms and fill them out and bring them in.
One of the Karen's being called "Dolores" (which means, basically, Pain) is just petty, wild, and perfectly on point. I love it
Ha ha ha ha ha I’m so happy someone caught it 😂😂😂
Was low-key expected her surname to be Umbridge
Especially when she said "We have multiple Doloreses in the system"

Hey, no argument here. It's right up there with getting a high five from the doctor over your results. Love the Video! 👏👏👏👏
This is too real! I am a medical assistant and I hear my poor front office gals getting yelled at all the time. My favorite is making the patients feel bad and then they end up apologizing on the way out, for thing out of our control.
as a medical receptionist, this is honestly too close to reality oh my god
The amount of times I have uttered the phrase “….. no I can’t. I can’t just make the doctor do that” in my life is too many to count.
I love this medical roleplay, Mira!😊💙💙💙💙💙💙💙👍. It makes me happy when I visit to the doctor's appointment last February to check my blood pressure and my health.😊💙🎇💙🎇💙🎇💙🎇👍. Well done, Mira!😊😙💙💙💙💙💙💙🌷💖💖💖💖💖💖😊🎇👍
This makes me so glad I work in the OR.
Only talk to patients before and after their surgeries.
I have never been so relaxed and simultaneously secondhand stressed😂 I love this
As a pharmacy technician, this is SO accurate.
Love the background music. Well done, super relaxing ❤️🤩
love this one
Holy moly WHAT is WITH some people!
@@musingmira entitlement culture is a massive part of the issue. She had escalated so far, I really don't think she could have backed down.
as person who works as a call responder (not First responder or health care) People who call you then you tell them your not what they need and they get mad at you is as frustrating if not more than doing customer service because its always like "There is so much shit I could say, but this is my only source of Income so I can't."
You know, I hate when people over pronunciate harsh sounding letters in asmr... this is the most soothing, relaxing video I've ever watched. Love it! First 2 minutes of me ever watching your channel and already this good!💖🥰
Appreciate your finding new and different things to do!
Instant subscribe, this was so fun, and your acting is amazing!
You're the sweetest; thanks again for your work ❤😊
Thanks for the video Mira!
Honestly, I always try to be a good customer/patient because of how notoriously terrible any service job tends to get. And whenever I'm actually *told* that a service worker likes me, I'm both delighted and heartbroken.
But yes, it's soothing as hell.
*EDIT*
The way the hope and light leaves your eyes as you realise the man didn't finish filling in the form was too hecking real and WOOF- Reminds me way too much of my nurse friend, my retail friend and myself when I was on door greeting during the Christmas season. 😂😂😂
There are still creative ASMR creators out there
OMG! I managed a medical office for over a decade and this is spot on! 😂😂😂
Life is harder for those that are gifted because they have to care for so many and be understood by so few
This channel had my curiosity.....now it has my attention :)
I've been sick the last two days this really helped
This video came on the perfect day for me. Just finished the first week at a new job I can be somewhat proud of, and now it's time to relax.
I have also learned that I've been saying Mira wrong. I've been saying it my-ra, like the Mira River
Way to go!!!
And ha ha ha wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened. 😉
I know that my doc receptionists are always amazed when I took the time to visit the practive website, download the forms and fill them out and bring them in.
Just found your channel and love this video!
