Lovely moment at the beginning with one great keeper (Pat Jennings) presenting another (Paul Cooper) with his player of the year award.
Ironically Bobby Robson wasn't convinced about Cooper's ability for a long time, so nearly signed Jennings in 1977 when Tottenham inexplicably let him go. The only reason it didn't happen was because Arsenal came in for him at the 11th hour, so Pat went there A) because it was closer to home and B) he wanted to annoy Spurs' directors who blanked him on his departure from White Hart Lane!

As a Scottish dude i`m probably unique in my admiration of Jimmy Hill . Autumn Lake District family trips in 70`s .Loved watching MoTD back in this era .

However was a great Ipswich,crowned that season with European Uefa Cup win,mytical was the white-red striped ball!!😉

Too many games for too small a squad. Having beaten villa 2-1 they blew it by losing at home to arsenal and then losing to Norwich two days later over Easter, plus then having the FA cup semi cup seminal and uefa cup semi final to deal with. Players played 67 games that season. Best team in the country but blew it.

That’s the problem with these competitions, too many of them in such a short time, defeats the purpose.
