You just don’t want to get stuck between the rig to your designation. And the owner of this rig and other rigs are owned by native corporations (the native and Eskimo corporation instead of tribe.
My first slope hitch was in 1974 so I remember well the long cold days rigging down-up with full rig tear downs. It was a game changer when they went modular on wheeled trailers. Most now have their own moving systems for both pad travel and location to location travel. Long trips they still use trucks.
As for trucks that haul rigs, the north slope has Autocars diesel truck that huge with 5 speed automatic transmission. I found my picture of Doyon rig move as well Nabor and Parker. The biggest rig is a Parker. Rumor was that with they loaded the on a barge in Washington crumbled cement. Huge rig.
Polar bears up there; we have rattlesnakes down here in south Texas. I've saw a worm swamper tie on to the axle of a pole truck that was tied onto a load on a muddy location and then a worm cat skinner pull said axle plum out from under said truck. Somebody lost their old job over that stunt. I could write a book.

I worked floors for Challenger Drlg. in 1974 to '75 , out of Deadhorse. The job looks a lot easier now compared to back then
