I just want to add that the famous E3 Halo 2 demo, was actually a pre-rendered cinematic Their goals proved to be too ambitious, and with the E3 deadline growing ever closer the decision was made to show off what they hoped to deliver at launch rather than what they had already I'm not sure if you cover this later on, I paused right after the E3 part
@@TiddyTwyster thank you for the kind words. You are correct about the Halo 2 trailer being pre-renderer but unlike Halo ODST, H2 was done with the in game engine and the second one was played live. I should've specified that more.
Nah, you did a great job Halo CE was the first game I ever played and Bungie has been a huge part of my life ever since It felt like looking through an old yearbook, the nostalgia was overpowering
this is a good video. Makes sense that every detail can't be expressed with the first destiny game but regardless this gives outsiders and those new with Bungie an idea of what this studio went through to please its community
@@Awkwurdd Destiny is a weird disjointed game, it doesn't really have a campaign but a few missions that aren't connected together and a bad plot overall because it is largely absent.
This gave me chills. I’ve grown up with Bungie, the halo franchise was something that got me into gaming with my dad in elementary school. I played destiny 1 RELIGIOUSLY in middle and it got me through some really rough times. And in high school, watching destiny 2 grow and change is mirroring my own change cause. You know..... high school. Bungie has shaped my childhood. And their story is amazing. Thank you, for making this.
7:04 BRUH. You mean to tell me Bungie immediately fixed a game breaking patch back then my MANUALLY recalling every copy, but on Destiny it takes several months to fix the smallest line of code whenever something is broken or overpowered in the game
If you are talking about the LoW issue bungie has already addressed that. Due to the work around the "Shadowkeep" they don't want to overrun their workers. Rebalancing a weapon is not an easy job. You need to spend hundreds of hours in looking for a way to nerf and not totally obliterate one weapon. For example if they straight nerf the damage output of the LoW it will be almost ussles in pve but yes nerfed in pvp. And after that they have to consider the pve side of things.
That was stunning work you did there Halfpint! Thank you so much for putting this together, I was really immersed with your use of dramatic music and pacing to make everything feel meaningful and suspenseful, truly a work of inspiration that I hope will get the recognition it deserves :)
you call this a "Documentary"... i'm just surprised they didn't get their birth certificates and finger prints while they were at it...in order to know Bungie you need to really know who these guys are on the microcellular level no?
Thank you for making a ViDocumentary on Bungie. Honestly it makes me so happy to see such a big service for my favorite game company. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely amazing work here, my friend. As a avid Bungie fan since before Halo: CE, being able to watch this and reminisce about the history and struggles of my favorite developer is inspiring. Gonna share this with everyone I know who loves Bungie games. You deserve a ton of recognition for this and I really hope that people at Bungie have been able to watch this and solidify the idea that their hardcore community and fans are caring, patient, and passionate for what they create. Stay rad, mate.
I've been with Bungie since Halo CE. I can't even begin to put into words how much this company means to me; the amount of memories it left. Destiny had a few (understatement) missteps but I loved both entries. I'm hoping if a D3 ever comes, its the Destiny Bungie always wanted to make.
Very well done. Seriously, it was entertaining and informative and, frankly, so much more professional than I expected. Had to stop playing the game to watch it through to the end! Thank you.
This video is great, you did an amazing job going through the deep history of bungie. I hate to suggest anything though, since I am not a content creator and know little to nothing about the amount of work and time that goes into great videos like these. But I’d love to see a 3 part series of videos added on to this. Hear me out lol, what if you used this video as a baseline for the 3 part video series, splitting the content from this into 3 and going deeper into each section. For example, take all the history of what bungie did before the halo series and make the first part a long documentary like this, but going into more depth and focusing on just what came before halo and destiny. Then the same with part 2 and 3; the second video diving even deeper into bungies history with halo, and the 3rd part in the series, going even deeper with destiny and bungie. I loved this so much, I just want more, and I know people want more great content like this. I’d pay to watch a 3 part series like that. The video just felt too quick, I wanted to watch for hours and find out so much more about the deeper details and history of bungie, and if I were doing it that’s what I’d do. Please do this lol
"Once more upon the breach" 🤦♂️ Liked it, it was very in depth, for the format. I was at Bungie studio the day of the Warmind release, it was a stressful day for them. But, the voice of Rasputin tho! Whoever made that choice deserves a raise. One thing I never knew was that Oni was based on GiTS, one my favorite anime series. I was surprised to not see any mention of Marathon Man, the basis for the Halo lore.
Halo 3s marketing was on point. Gives me goosebumps thinking about the first time i saw it and all the stuff after. All the hype behind the halo movie too... WHICH I AM STILL HOPING FOR ):

First time I seen that trailer was because it played during the super bowl... atleast I think it was that one. Either way, Halo 3 trailer played during super bowl commercial... a fucking video game trailer played during the Super Bowl!!! Fuck, that was legit.
Thank you! I loved this! It proves that Bungie is different from other companies, putting players first and making great games. ps: Well, aside from server issues, lmao.
