    Glad I was able to help in my own small way, but you were the one who walked all that way. Well done, sir! :)

    Very good thank you. Looking forward very much to your clips on both subjects you mentioned. Another possible subject: How to get to St Jean P de P from Paris or Madrid.

      Hi Ron, Thank you for your nice comment. If you want train and coach times, then www.rome2rio.com/ is a good site to use. I'd also recommend checking out my '4 Amazing websites video', as the forum is a great resource for travel questions that I mention in it. This is a thread on Madrid to St Jean on the forum - www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/traveling-from-madrid-to-st-jean-pied-de-port.47986/

      @@Caminohacks funny thing is even when doing it I was like this is it, this is the only one in my life and now I'm like, hmmm Portuguese route is only a couple of weeks. I think that's probably next aaaaaaaarrrggghhhh

      @@Artstewsimpson Yes, stew! The Camino is calling you once more...welcome to the repeat offenders group. Know what you mean about when you're on it and it feeling like you don't feel you'll ever be able to top that feeling or need to go back and do it again. But, after the dust settles you do start to miss Camino life, and for me , I feel so at home walking a fair distance each day and chatting with lovely folk. When exactly do you think you'd go again?

      @@Caminohacks I am recording a new album with Hadrian's Union soon and I think that this year will be mostly taken up with that. So maybe this time next year if I can raise enough cash. I'm working really hard at the moment but earning very little. My partner wants to visit Porto so I may look into possibly a bit of a holiday with him then start the camino, logistics are not my strong suit but I will be catching up with my camino family in Germany in June.

      @@Artstewsimpson Good luck with the forthcoming album recording. Sorry to hear you're not earning much this year, I hope things change for the better for you soon. That'll be a lovely way to start your Portuguese Camino, you can be waved off as you march off into the sunset.
      The reunion sounds amazing, so pleased to hear you're getting to meet up with your Camino family again

    I get lost coming out of Tescos carpark, so if I'm not out of Spain by June please send in search parties

      ha ha, that made me laugh. We don't want you getting lost while you're out there. I'd recommend downloading one of the Wise Pilgrim apps as they have a handy live map - wisepilgrim.com/

      And will you be walking the Frances, from St Jean to Santiago or maybe Sarria to Santiago?

      @sapengro ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Caminohacks I'm going from St Jean, never done anything like it so it's great you and others have made videos like this to put my mind at ease. Where to sleep, getting lost and how much water to carry are my questions.

    • @Caminohacks
      @Caminohacks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sapengro In June going over the pyrenees you'll need a couple of bottles of water, but you can top up about 7/8 kms from St Jean at the free water fountain in orisson. The first day is tough walking all the way to Roncesvalles, but is a beautiful walk. If you want to break it up stop in orisson (you need to book this in advance)

    Great vids and tips, many thanks. I'm considering doing the longest Camino as I have an opportunity this year to take a few months off and ramble through Spain, which is the longest route and is the weather ok there in October/November ?

    • @Caminohacks
      @Caminohacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      The vía de la plata is longest route at nearly 1000kms, but it would be a very solitary route. The Norte is a little longer than the Frances. You could do the frances and add on Finisterre and muxia to make it longer. Oct the weather should still be good, albeit with some wet days.

    Going in late august for the full Camino. Packing my bivi gear is seeming like a good idea. Not sure. It packs up small and light but isn't nothing.. hmm?

    • @Caminohacks
      @Caminohacks  ปีที่แล้ว

      How exciting, having a full camino on the horizon. When you say full bivi gear, do you mean water proof trousers and jacket/poncho? I’m sure when you hit Galicia there’ll be some rain. If it’s light and small, then I’d say take it. Worst case, if your pack is too heavy you can either send stuff to Santiago or home from the Spanish post office.

    Hi there, I really love all of your videos they are so helpful. I will be doing my first Camino in September. Can you please tell me airports that are closest to the starting point and to the end point of the Camino?

    • @Caminohacks
      @Caminohacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you for your lovely comment. How exciting, your first Camino! If you're walking the Camino Frances then the nearest airport for the start is Biarritz, but if you're flying internationally you may have to change at a larger airport. The end airport is in Santiago De Compostela. If you're walking the Portuguese, then fly into Porto and out of Santiago De Compostela

    My question is about SIM cards, when and where should you get them ?

    • @Caminohacks
      @Caminohacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am learning about that myself, from what I hear you can go to phone shops in the bigger towns and they have pre-pay SIMs that comes with data and minutes. Make sure your phone handset is unlocked, so it can accept a SIM from another provider.
