This song really picks at the heart/tearful string. I always get teary eyed or I feel like crying when I hear this song! So many things relate to this song that make it so special, and sad at the same time. What makes it so special is seeing different life struggles, trials, happy times, and other feelings/emotions/behaviors that you face in life. I feel like in the first two Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, the life that they had seemed so perfect. I know they had challenges, hardships, and many different things that they didn't have vs what we have nowadays. What I love about the time period back then was how most people lived their life to the fullest, and technology wasn't so great that it took away from the natural process of getting to know someone. I could go on and on with the good things. What makes this song sad is that most of the cast from this TV series are no longer. This was the perfect cast for this tv series. They all played their parts very well to make it believable and worth it to watch. It's still hard to believe that Jonathan Crombie (Gilbert Blythe) is gone. Died at 48 years old. I've never met him personally, but he seemed like a legit person to get to know. He seemed to always have a "happy" vibe around everyone he met. Anne of Green Gables series will go down as my favorite series ever on tv!
Love this theme music - so evocative and beautiful. When I close my eyes I can see Prince Edward Island and capture the essence of Anne. My spiritual home although I have never physically been there. My favourite book, my favourite heroine and my favourite television programme. cxx
