I don’t think Miu said anything about little girls because NOT ONE of the teenagers mentioned such a critical piece of information to the cops at the time of the incident. If he truly made such a comment, don’t you think it would’ve been the first statement they would’ve made to police? I personally think they came up with that way after the fact to justify their claims of rap&) and pedo*^%#. Also, it’s just so fishy how they used the same language to describe how he said “something weird about little girls” like they rehearsed it. I think they’re totally in cahoots and lying in an effort to excuse their cruel harassment of Miu because they saw how bad it looked after the fact in the video. If they truly thought he was a threat, they wouldn’t be laughing, cat calling etc. They didn’t seem in the least in fear for their lives. They were havng fun at the expense of Miu. It was sport to them. That video, in its totality, says it all. It kills the state’s claims. In fact, I’m surprised the state even went to trial with this case because usually the state doesn’t take a case unless it’s iron clad. That’s why prosecutors win something like 90% of cases. I could be slightly off about that percentage, but it’s something like that. This is all just my opinion. It’s tragic on many levels.

I 100% agree! These witnesses have been coached. The prosecutor is wanting to make it appear that Miu “punched Maddy because it is a more violent act and would make him look like he “threw the first punch”. Every single witness said he struck her “like slapped her” in their interview with the police right after the incident. But on the stand they all stated that he punched her. You’re right, this is a tragic case. I don’t see fear on any of the “mob’s” faces that were attacking Miu. I see hateful faces and laughing and hear taunting and yelling from them. I hear one person, Jawahn, provoking this frenzied, drunk, high mob to elevate the situation.

It is no uncommon in eastern European countries for someone to call young men who are acting like children, "little girls" as an insult. I am thinking that they were teasing the guy about snorkeling in shallow water and he glared at them. If they asked "what are you looking at?", he may have said "I'm looking at little girls". They, being insulted and getting defensive began their chants of him being a pedo. It is the only explanation of where even the idea of such a claim came from.

This makes total sense. I am a coach of teen boys. I would bet my house that the boys or Javan instigated the whole situation and alcohol was the gasoline on the fire. Once you get one of them riled up they all jumped on. He needed a sober adult to step in. Instead he got two drunk 20 year old women. I guarantee if he would walked away, they would have followed.

I think regardless of what guilt anyone has in this, and regardless the outcome of the trial, every single one of the people involved that day need to learn a lesson from this encounter. The teens hopefully learned how not to behave in public. To not drink heavily, to not approach or address strangers for no reason, to not make wild accusations about strange men, to not encourage & escalate gang mentality & to step back & walk away if a situation gets dangerous. And never lay a hand on anyone, especially if you don't know them.
The women who came to help need to never approach a grown man like they are another grown man, as some men won't hesitate to treat you & abuse you as such. Those ladies could've de-escalated the situation but instead only initiated the first action of violence.
And the man who stabbed these kids...
I personally feel he was highly intoxicated as well, whether it be prescription meds, narcotics or alcohol. He didn't look fully lucid. As a grown man he should know better than to even entertain a group of teenagers messing with him. He's the adult & needs to act as one & he did not. He needs to learn what actually qualifies as self defense & fear for your life. Approaching the kids multiple times & hitting the women during a tense moment are not things someone does if they are in danger of being killed. He had every opportunity to walk away. Everyone has some fault here. But the victims didn't deserve to be stabbed or killed. Defense lawyer is banking on victim blaming to win this case & I feel it's not going to work in his favor.

I agree about Jawahn being the instigator. He started the whole thing and cowered behind the camera the whole time. Also, when I watched the video the first time, I didn’t know a single thing about this case. When he kept saying, “he said he’s looking for little girls!”, I IMMEDIATELY thought he was looking for something his little girl lost in the river. Now that I know damn near everything about this trial and have watched every second of it thus far, I cannot wait to hear Miu take the stand to see what he REALLY said. I bet my money on something like, “a phone with 2 little girls on it” (meaning the phone’s wallpaper). I know it was his friend’s phone but I can’t find anything about him online to see if he has daughters.
Also, I cannot wait for the MULTIPLE Perry Mason moments I’m betting on when the defense presents their case. I don’t want to post all the ridiculously smart things I’ve picked up on so far (cuz I know the state’s team and witnesses are on here reading all these comments), but let’s just say Miu’s legal team is fawking BRILLIANT!

I can’t believe the comments on this video. Folks, Nick Miu came over to their group. They didn’t come over to him. He grabbed the kid’s leg on the tube. Also, HE’S clearly intoxicated himself. And just because someone shoves you or even slaps you, doesn’t give you the right to stab 5 people of which 1 was disemboweled and another was killed. Nick Miu was not in danger of losing his life. All of you want this to be like Rittenhouse. The difference is, Rittenhouse WAS in danger of losing his life. This guy, not even close. He’s a POS.
Also the defense keep posing questions to this kid like “and you could have just walked always, right?”

There’s 3 groups of people making up the 13 people the defense keeps squawking about. Those groups did not know each other and most of them didn’t see the video until much later. What exactly did the defendant do to the group to antagonize them, and how were the groups behavior less antagonistic than his behaviors? The group were the ones who were fiercely bullying him, falsely accusing him without evidence, unjustly ordering him to leave escalating the situation, and backed him into a corner and acted violently against him. The dude was just protecting himself against a drunken, violent gang
If i got punched hard in the face that left visible injuries as witnesses claimed, and that act of violence was the catalyst that led to 5 people getting stabbed and one killed, i would have gad many pictures taken of the injury, and i would have kept them even if the lame cops didn't want them. Yet there is not one single photo of the woman's injury supposedly perpetrated by the defendant. That should tell you right there that any narrative involving her getting punched hard in the face by the defendant is a highly dubious claim. Eyewitness testimony is the most unreliable testimony...just maybe, the girl who was "punched" lied and told everyone he hit her to get the guys to attack the defendant... just like Mr. Cockfield who lied about the defendant looking for little girls and thus inciting a riot...None of the "victims" are innocent victims. The defendant had a right to be where he was, people forget that he was looking for a cell phone which could have cost $1,500, and most likely had personal and financial information. The defendant had a right to look for the cell phone and the groups of people had no right to tell him to leave. In addition, putting your hands on someone is considered assault. Not a single witness has a clean slate on this one. Never push someone into a corner as you never know if, when, & how they will react. I would be humiliated to have been a part of such a group much less to be the person (Mr. Cockfield) who incited the group as they are responsible for a young man's death (as is the young man himself). 15 to 20 people against 1 person... this was definitely overcharged... and the kids (if they were charged... it would have been as adults) all have blood on their hands.

Miss Heidi, I believe what you've stated is just as right as rain.
Those intoxicated rapscallions obviously had a low tolerance level to the intoxicating effects of "adult beverages."
They boldly confronted a stranger (a Romanian) they knew nothing about...and proactively inserted themselves into a situation they knew absolutely nothing about....other than the inane ramblings of some intoxicated teenage rapscallions.
The writer Christopher Hitchens had a genius level IQ level, and was known to consume prodigious amounts of Johnny Walker scotch on a daily basis...with no ill effects on his ability as a writer.
About five years after Hitch died from cancer, I attended a speaking engagement which included an interview with Hitch's wife, Carol Blue.
She readily admitted that Hitch began consuming scotch before noon...and continued to do so until the evening.
But she went on to say that she never had any problem with his consumption of scotch, because it had no effect on his personality.
She said he functioned on a "high level"...regardless of his consumption of scotch...and always treated her like a "special princess." (Her exact words).
And what woman would not want to be treated like a "special princess?"
So it became obvious to me that some people can consume adult beverages without it affecting their personality or demeanor...but most probably cannot.
And those abased, inebriated rapscallions on the river that day should not have inserted themselves into a situation they knew nothing about...after consuming substances they had no facility to handle...which is why they ended up getting stabbed.

First degree doesn’t just mean planned. In Wisconsin if you cause the death of another with the intent to kill, it’s first degree. So even if you decide a split-second before the homicide that you want to kill the victim, it’s first degree. Even with that definition, I believe second degree murder is the more appropriate charge. There’s literally a subsection of second degree murder that states “the defendant genuinely believed they or another person was in imminent danger of death or serious physical injury and that the force they used was necessary to defend whoever was endangered, but the belief of danger or the force being necessary was not reasonable.” That is literally what the state is trying to prove in my opinion.

He was pushing and holding Miu into the water face first and AJ describes it as him “holding him down for a second” in some wild story of attempted deescalation. And apparently this tactic was learned from handling small children? The video shows him standing face to face with Miu AFTER he pushed and held Miu face down into the water when he got stabbed… stabbed whilst actively attacking Miu so all Miu had to do was stick his knife in AJ’s direction and he lunged right into it. Drunk underage teenagers intentionally stirring an anger against the guy and harassing and threatening him
Telling everybody that they were yelling for help because they were scared for their lives
The video clearly shows they were threatening the guy and laughing at him and they were not afraid for their lives and they never yelled help
They claim he hit the girl with his right hand a slap this was very specific by the police officers who took their statements that it was an open hand slap by the right hand and that's the reason they started beating up the guy
Problem is they hadn't seen the video and they didn't know he had already pulled out his knife and it's impossible for him to have slapped her in the face with a right open hand if he's holding the knife in the hand
They said he hit her so hard that she went down in the water the video shows she never went down in the water
Photographs by the police show that her sunglasses that she was wearing when she supposedly was hit are completely undamaged and there was no mark on her face
They lied about it because they needed to have an excuse for why they started beating him
Cockfield the kid that is shooting the video intentionally escalates and tells everybody that he's a pedophile rapist
And people say he charged them when they were in their inner tubes are the ones who have not watched all of the facts from the case
Or they would know that he had his face in the water after telling them he was looking for his phone and he heard a bunch of noise and he heard them yelling so he looked up and saw cockfield holding out the phone and thought they had found his phone that's why he ran over to the inner tubes
And at that point he dropped his snorkel and mask and started looking for them and that's when they're all claiming that he was holding their inner tubes and preventing them from going down the river
He then tries to walk away but the water is deep and his friends are in the opposite direction on the other side of the river so he turns and starts walking towards them he even waves to his friends hoping that they're going to see him and come give him assistance to cool the situation down but those girls run up in his face and start telling him to go the other direction
Like they have any right to do that
And shortly after that you hear one of the guys say he has 10 seconds
Again acting like they have a right to tell another person where to go
All they had to do was float down the river like they were he wasn't talking to any of them
He was trying to get back to his friends and find his phone
And they start punching him and beating him even when he's down in the river
If I punch you and knock you down it's gonna scare you
If I punch you while you're down and attacking you that's going to terrify you
But if you're in a river and I'm hitting you while you're down you're gonna be scared to death
And when you fear for your life you have every right to defend with deadly force
And he never touched anybody until after they were hitting him he did not stab anybody intil they were assaulting him
And for those who say no he still hit her before they punched him why would he have hit her if he had the knife out he obviously was willing to stab people
So why wouldn't he have stabbed her?
Why did they say that she went down on the ground after he hit her and we can see that she didn't ever go down on the ground
Why did they say they yelled for help when you can never hear anybody yelling for help but you can hear them laughing after they said they were scared
And why did they say he was a pedophile
Because the reality is he's a mechanical engineer.... he is a math nerd
    With no history of violence
He's a middle-aged man who had a quadruple bypass surgery a year previous
He was not looking for a fight
And if you say why did he have a knife with him
It's the tubes they were using they tied together with twine and they needed a knife to cut the twine
When I initially looked at this I thought he was guilty of murder
But after looking at over 24 hours worth of testimony
    And evidence
It's obvious that the only reason that kid died was because Cockfield instigated violence by telling everybody he was a pedophile and whoever gave these kids alcohol that had them acting like animals towards a fellow citizen who is doing nothing more than looking for his private property in a river when he was surrounded by numerous underage drunken troglodytes should be charged
Because the alcohol and cockfield were the two sources of instigation

So, yeah, the “kids” probably felt that no matter how recklessly they acted or drove, nothing bad would happen because pulling the kid card meant no consequences. Then, they ran into Miu who showed them there’s usually a bigger crazy out there and you can’t always spot it just by looking. Sweetie pie, what you don't understand is that it doesn't matter who is right or wrong. You are missing the bigger picture here, darling.
Dude is dead because he f#ked with the wrong guy. It doesn't matter what "should" have happened or who is more wrong. Dude is dead.
How about you learn that this is the real world and learn to survive in it and not expect that societal standards are going to protect you from harm. Don't start a fight that you can't finish.

Can everyone please just stop referring to a 52 year old man (at the time) as an "old man" or "elderly" It is so incredibly innacurate. And to say he was in poor health or feeble? He stabbed through 2 of Isaac's ribs, he calmly smiled as he pulled his knife out, he disembowled another, and stabbed 3 more then calmly walked away and joined his group.
