I had some of those cones! I painted them in shades of green, cream and tan and wrapped a rusty bed spring around each one. They make adorable Christmas trees!
Back in the early 1990’s I worked at a Country Inn in Lewisburg WV. The owners mother had made an ornament wreath and cone tree with Shiny Bright bulbs from her childhood. The wreath form and the cone were covered in a muted Victorian green velvet ribbon. Every Christmas the owner of the Inn would bring out those precious family heirlooms to decorate with and I thought they were magical. Fast forward to the early 2000’s and we had a new thrift store open locally. Everyone seemed to clean out their attics, basements and garages because the first few years the store was open lots of vintage Christmas decor got donated. We grabbed all that I could including many Shiny Bright ornaments. I made my own ornament wreath, complete with muted Victorian green velvet ribbon! These are very easy to make but they are also very hard to store. I’ve had to replace a few bulbs over the years but I highly recommend making some version of this wreath because it really is a statement piece. The tree is a great way to use up ornaments as well! I have tons of “odds and ends” that I’m gonna use to make a tree and tie them together with the German Glass Glitter. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
I’ve been making ornament wreaths for many years. I kept the first one I made because it has some family ornaments on it. When I store it, I wrap it carefully with lots of bubble wrap and it goes in its own box.
After seeing the one little picture you showed of a vintage wreath I had to make one. I spent three days going to rehab store and digging in Christmas bins. I made one and loved it so much I decorated vintage this year. At 72 I am vintage so I love it. Cindy in NC
The Christmas items you use, bring me back to my childhood. Things I’ve haven’t seen since then. Every time I see you use a new one, more wonderful memories of my childhood come flooding back. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful crafts you makewith them. It brings me back in time, if even for a moment. Love your channel so much. ❤

I have the wreath form. I have sooo many ornaments. Just need some garland and more glue sticks and I’m making one this weekend. Thank you so much. My sister is definitely an over the top decorator and it’ll be the perfect gift. Love the tree too. Merry Christmas to you and Chris!
I have the same tiny wooden ornaments including the birds (I got them years ago at a yard sale, LOL). That wreath is so gorgeous, absolutely love it!! I want to make me one. Thank you so much for sharing your vision with us. 😊❤🎅
The hodge Podge Tree is gorgeous! What I have not seen used is the spun glass. I had a friend who used all real old ornaments on a tree and then covered their whole tree in the sunglass. It was so pretty!
