Michigan grad and a fan here.. I also played hockey most of my life. This is what is best about ice hockey. In hockey, a team playing hard with passion can beat anyone even the semi-NHL mighty Michigan, and Minnesota. Good job and respect.

Nobody had played a team like the Bobcats. They're SOLID. COMPLETE. DRIVEN. Less individual "superstar" talent and instead, a bunch of talented, very hard working guys. It really bothered me how much the ESPN crew gushed over NHL bound players and not about the band of brothers actual COLLEGE HOCKEY they profess to love so much. College Hockey is NOT about fawning over NHL talent. Not at all. It's about the sport of College Hockey. The team, the traditions, the student fans, the alums, the coaches, the pep bands, the atmosphere....it's everything BUT "high level talent" and big salaries......It's the pure game.
I'm a huge Minnesota hockey fan. That Quinnippiac coach is absolutely brilliant, reminds me of Herbie Brooks. I'm devastated. Great , smart play, great effort. Quinnippiac earned this win. I tip my hat.

I feel like the Gophers would have won the game after the first period, but the Bobcats just didn't want to give up and kept attacking again and again. Finally, their hard work paid off. All the players are just college kids, but they played very well and fought like men. I just don't know what happened with the Gophers. They did so well for most of the time. I was completely shocked when the overtime lasted just 10 seconds. The Gophers could have done better, but again, all the players played so well. It was a great game. It was so difficult to watch a couple of players from the Gophers frozen on the field for a long time. It was heartbreaking! Respect to all players. I hate the media in the locker room though. They shouldn't put cameras or microphones on the players' faces when they are so devastated. They fought like men, but they are still kids. Leave them alone.

Minnesota goalie made some good saves and they tried to play strong enough D, but persistence paid off and Graf tied it when the goalie was trying to cheat a little and because of that, couldn't close the 5 hole fast enough. Yes they could've gone up 3-1 on Snuggerud's chance, but he missed. That's how it goes....but it definitely wasn't an even game.
