I forgot to say Matt your star sapphire may have symptoms of stress probably from the bass you don't know what happens during the night just something to think about
@@markbaumgardt2868 looks like some internal parasite, does have a sunken belly but could be just the angle from the camera. Hope he makes a speedy recovery as he is a nice looking fish
@@BigCichlidsWy If you'll isolate the Star Saffire into a 10 or 20 gallon tank & double dose with CLOUT you could possibly save that fish. That wasting disease that it has is the same one that causes Malawi Bloat. CLOUT is the best cure I've found for it if you catch it early enough. Just sharing what has always worked well for me.
Wow!! Thanks for the kind words and encouragement hahaha I’m just a bit obsessed with the hobby lol it’s crazy how TH-cam works hehe , subpar tanks and quality editing and the algorithm makes them big. Quality fish and tanks and less time Spent on editing / making the video and TH-cam keeps you suppressed ;)
Beautiful fish and setup. Remind me what size tank this is and which mfr. I just started a 75 gallon a bit over a month ago, and have 8 peacocks and 2 haps are scheduled to arrive today. The haps will be in another take for a least 10 days before I put them in the 75. All are very small, as I want to grow them up.
Thanks for the comment! And support! This tank is an acrylic 300 gallon made by “water works” it measures 8 feet long 24” front to back and 30” top to bottom. Runs a 125 gallon sump in the stand for filtration
@@BigCichlidsWy Thanks for the response. I'm thinking about a 6ft tank, and want Acrylic. One reason is the weight, as my tanks are in my basement and glass is just too heavy for me to carry down two flights of stairs with my son-in-law. Kent
I'm under the understanding that it is a stigmatochromis spilostichus only because I have kept them before despite the information available on Google. I got mine from a very reputable breeder.
Hi Matt, all the fish look amazing, there definitely grown heaps, but the HAWK still the one for me. Love the update series mate , keep them coming 👍
I also have a Rodessii yellow he is about the size of yours and also the tank boss and your fish look great

@@markbaumgardt2868 I will pull the sapphire out today and put it in a different tank to see if things improve for him. Thanks

@@KnKs64 that’s the exact reason I went acrylic on this massive tank the weight of glass is unrealistic for me to get downstairs

So it is indeed a stigmatochromis spilostichtus? Wow that’s awesome thanks for the information! Glad to put that to rest haha
Could the unidentified fish be a protomelas spilonotus?
Thanks for the comment ! But I don’t believe it’s a protomelas. A proto would be cool though lol
Love your updates. You have beautiful fish.
I wouldn't buy or keep any fish I wasn't certain of their heritage, but thats just me I guess. I have no clue what that fish is or could possibly be.
Thanks man!
