Either you were not paying attention to the video, or you simply have no understanding of the law. She never suggested that it is “okay” not to pay in full - although she did suggest they were both being silly escalating things to this degree over a measly 4 dollars. And whether it is okay or not is completely beside the point. The point is that you cannot physically assault someone because they do not pay you the full amount owed. And let's face it, this case was brought before the court because the cabbie believed he was wrongly arrested for assault and so that is the only thing that judge had to determine. And of course, her decision was correct under the law because under the law it is never legal to assault someone over a payment dispute. As for the cab fare issue I’m not even sure how this occurred. After all every time I have taken a cab in the USA, I can clearly see the amount on the meter so there is no reason to have a discussion about what the price is going to be once I arrive - that is unless the guy is taking fares off the meter. Speaking of which I have had to take non-meter taxis many times in places like Thailand or the Philippines when I could not find a meter-taxi and in every case the price was negotiated before I even accepted the ride. And by the way, although I always leave a handsome tip when taking a metered taxi, I never tip for a non-metered taxi because the price is already going to be considerably more than what I would pay if he were on a meter. The price you negotiate is the price you pay - no more and no less. But either way any price negotiation need to take place before you even get into the cab.

Then she walks in acting like she didn't know where she was and why there were people in the court room, but at the same time like she was showing up to walk a red carpet. Everyone lives in an entitled country. Even ppl who migrate here legally turn into entitled brats. Ppl aren't humble, kind, and caring anymore like they used to be. We have become such a Godless country.
Taxis around here have timers and once you get in the flag goes up. Every 1/5th of a mile it ticks up for what ever the local rate is. Sometimes if the driver senses you are a tourist, they will take the scenic route (long way) to your destination to keep the register running. This taxi driver was a knuckle head for not putting up that flag to show what the rate is. He deserved to lose.
JM was incorrect on the third case. It either had the bumper replaced. It would’ve cost the amount of money. The guy paid him. One of that money was for lost wages to fix it. Then the next rack it had to replace it again and pay for it again.
The cab driver handled that wrong. You cant do that in this country. The defendant should've paid. The plaintiff should've just took the $30 and reported the defendant. Both made dumb decisions. Good ruling this time.
no...the taxi driver needed to stay in his car, call the cops over the $ 4 fee not paid...or just leave and cut his losses. The taxi driver had NO right to grab his bags, put his hands on the defendant nor to go after him (plaintiff states defendant was walking away) and assult the defendant. CHEAPSAKE! The first case was a bad call! It just rewards him for being entitled!
Second case: Anothet entitled brat situation! Its ALSO illegal to hit and run barbie!
That last one, just can't drive. Geeze 😂
They do ask how much do you usually pay? The price shows on the box.
Why is judge Milian being rude and making fun of the way the plaintiffs talks, she’s LOL when clearly there is a language barrier. Smh
I don’t think she was making fun of him, it was just funny that it sounded like he said “my liar” because lawyers are paid liars, or spinners of the truth… “my liar” was funny and somewhat accurate
The cases are kind of straight forward. I'm wondering why the first cabbie brought his wife to court when she had nothing to do with it. Then she walks in acting like she didn't know where she was and why there were people in the court room, but at the same time like she was showing up to walk a red carpet. Then she walked up to the lectern with her husband, passed it like the bench was her seat, then ran back to stand behind her husband still looking around in bewilderment until Douglas told her to sit down. 🤣🤣🤣 Then same bewilderment in the background after the hearing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Plaintiff did not learn his lesson either....you can not hold a person's luggage for ransom, and you can not go after a person who is walking away.
It wasn't luggage it was bags from the Mall.
He had enough for the Mall but was ripping off the Cabbie?
How many of you just looked up how much a medallion was in New York City?
The cab driver was wrong but the defendant was a jerk and his daughter is a liar. Does the defendant not understand that prices change? He also never said a thing about the driver asking how much they usually pay. The daughter was just trying to make their case look better.
Wow! You probably should've called JM with your inside information! 😮
🙄
@JoeMCool nothing cool about your comment and attitude
The d0rk playing victim. What is so hard paying up
@@keylacmckemp1309
It’s ok, the internet is full of dicks and trolls. It gives them something to take their minds off living in mommies’ basement.😂😂🤡
@@keylacmckemp1309 MY attitude, missy?! Wtf is wrong with you? 😵💫
It's ok for YOU to call someone out when YOU disagree but for others...
I'm betting you talk a lot about cancel culture, too, dontcha?
Be for real, Keyla. Allow disagreements.
As a Latina why would she make fun of the plaintiff’s accent? That was an ignorant and not in the least bit funny. Also, Brittany was making up the story as she went along. Speaking softly and making all meek and mild is not who she is. You can tell she has utter contempt for the taxi driver
Wow! Nerve of that driver!! Someone needs to explain to him that the “customary tip” is & ALWAYS has been “OPTIONAL” & it’s TOTALLY UP TO THE CUSTOMER IF THEY WISH TO TIP OR NOT!!
Too many drivers, (especially in big cities) either don’t understand this OR they just automatically expect a tip!! But at no time, can they just “add” extra $ to the total fare because THEY FEEL LIKE THEY EARNED IT!
I don't taxis anymore I use to always watch the meter and they really go fast in the display as for the charges.
Aaaand this is why I always have extra dollar bills and and coins handy.
Behind 8 quarters
The taxi driver was pretty ballsy to go after him over $4 what if he had a weapon? The cab driver should have just called the cops and tell the cops he skipped his fair and he knows where he lives since he dropped him off.
The second case the defendants too tight shirt cost well over $500.00.
Fedex driver with 7 reckless driving on his criminal record and then hit and run , just sued me into settlement after I refused to settle cause fedex refused to pay for my hospital bills and spine surgery. The judge in dallas texas Terry said "i thought you would say yes to settlement and threw out the case , It will take me 2 months to refile and he didn't want to do that. Ended up with a broken back , a totaled truck , and learned there is no justice, fedex accepted the blame but refused to make me whole. Help me
You guys think the defendant is wrong … but the plaintiff is more wrong!!!!
The little cab car adds nothing! It seemed like the judge wanted to use this high-tech prop!😂Maybe the daughter could have contributed $4!
Case 1: judge should have made him pay the $4 ...you can't just decide how much you want to for your fare
2nd case, the best thing to say is “IM SORRY”
What is wrong with these people
Everyone lives in an entitled country. Even ppl who migrate here legally turn into entitled brats. Ppl aren't humble, kind, and caring anymore like they used to be. We have become such a Godless country.
Wow $4 bucks all that trouble how stupid! I know it was the Principle!😂
26:15 is unbelievable! A judge telling public its okay to borrow a class II prescribed drug?
Because that's real life...
Ugghh defendant should’ve sued the cab driver
All of this for less than $10.?? Oh my gosh..people are so petty..wheres the dignity for either of them??
JM was incorrect on the third case. It either had the bumper replaced. It would’ve cost the amount of money. The guy paid him. One of that money was for lost wages to fix it. Then the next rack it had to replace it again and pay for it again.
Yahoo 🎉🎉🎉No ridiculous comments from Adrian
Wrong, the principal of the matter is you didn't pay your fair. She's wrong for that.
Tipping isn't mandatory!!!
Then drive your own car
Aggravated assault against both people!
That daughter was DEFINITELY lying
Great videos to fall asleep to
Case #1: the defendant looks like Higgins from Magnum PI
The cab driver handled that wrong. You cant do that in this country. The defendant should've paid. The plaintiff should've just took the $30 and reported the defendant. Both made dumb decisions. Good ruling this time.
1st defendant should be in jail.
no...the taxi driver needed to stay in his car, call the cops over the $ 4 fee not paid...or just leave and cut his losses. The taxi driver had NO right to grab his bags, put his hands on the defendant nor to go after him (plaintiff states defendant was walking away) and assult the defendant. Defendant is an AH, for not paying $ 4 fee, but the taxi driver handled it wrong/ illegally.
If everyone else has to pay all the money he don't have to tip but what makes him so special he aint the king of England smh people nowadays
That first cab driver is 😳 dangerous. That's assault
He's totally right my liar
Higgins from Magnum PI. And this is a reupload.
If this man didn't fight back it only gives him permission to continue ripping off people. He has been called out so he's better he better watch out.
He should have paid 34 plus a tip
Thank God for lyft and Uber
