Josie is a solid "in the moment" romantic interest for our lonely, lonely Cruz--but Aaliyah is her truth! I'm absolutely keeping my fingers crossed that Taylor Sheridan brings Stephanie Nur (Aaliyah) back--not only for the final episode, but for season 3. It's hard to forget about your 1st True Love. And it'll be a great story line to see how Aaliyah handles seeing Cruz again.
I think it’s naive to think that Aaliyah will return to the show. Women have no power in her culture as she so frequently reminded Cruz in Season 1. Plus she must have been in all kinds of trouble for allowing Cruz to get close enough to kill her father and fiancé. She’s probably locked up on a compound in Riyadh. I can’t foresee any reasonable way to have her return. Yes she was Cruz’s first love and always will be. Nothing that happens with Josie or any other character on the show for that matter will take anything away from that. But Cruz has a promising future on the show now as Joe sees her as a potential successor and she is a gay character. Aaliyah helped Cruz realize that about herself. That in itself is huge. The next episode is going to be action-packed, chances for intimate moments will be limited but one can hope. I think next season attention turns back to the border and the cartel and possibly Josie and Cruz get embedded as a couple (cover) but really as Lioness/Shadow. Whatever happens I’m along for the ride, because I agree queer representation is something to rejoice and support. Period.
Have been a fan of yours, your channel and edits for some time now but this is the first time commenting on a video❤ I’m a big fan of the series as well, it started because of the sapphic relationship between Cruz and Aaliyah but I got drawn into it. Regarding your speculations, as I recall Aaliyah isn’t Iraqi but rather Saudi. It could make sense that she makes an appearance there given either she wanted to disappear after everything that happened in 1st season final so she moved, or she got eventually married to a wealthy Iraqi man and she lives there now. To me, I feel like there are still some missing parts in Josie’s story but she’s definitely an interesting character and the chemistry between her and Cruz is definite. I honestly prefer Josie and Cruz 🤷♀️. Just because of how their character fit together way better. They have a way bigger chance to be able to have an actual relationship. Also the power balance is closer, that was something I did not like with Aaliya ( it felt like there was a power imbalance. idk how explain it) I also think it's highly unlikely that Aaliya would be happy to see her, let's not forget that the night Cruz killed her fiancé and Father she also undstood that her whole relationship with Cruz was fake, you don't come back from that.

Fans of her last romance are mad about this but to me it just makes more sense and it sets up Cruz to ACTUALLY have a love interest that can potentially turn into her partner. I really feel like this is the direction they are going with it. It is literally the same story as Aaliyah except that now Josie is part of Cruz team and everything is out in the open since the get. Josie is part of the world that Cruz is part of also, they have something to bond over and can actually be together depending on how the finale goes, for Aaliyah there was just no way. Fans are saying it's just lust and who knows it might be how it starts but they are definitely going down the couple road, Josies "Maybe I'm the cure" line is in my opinion foreshadowing that.

She said on the plane aswell " i dont know how you trust someone who dont want to be here in the first place" she also brings up things she has done in her military career courses she has taken which prove she knows how to read and manipulate situations. So i dont think cruz is letting her guard down like we are thinking. If you really watch her actions and how she reacts to things she about the missions. hello First i always enjoys you Vids . I have to say that i was not sure how to take that one, At the start i felt it was ultra tropy and kind self serving (as LWL was part of S1 appeal ) but with the last episode it is really well done. I think it feels very organic and in line with what we know of Cruz side, Not sure on the Josie side. If it was "I can't think straight", "a perfect ending" or even "arcane", i would ship it to Gerald R.Ford-class, but given the seriesI can't help but to feels Josie is like the exact set up to compromise/get to Cruz. I i have the feeling that we are being set up for a massive sucker punch in the last episode. It might be misdirection, but there are lots of thing that makes me think that the team might end up where their opposition want them to be (the upper echelons keep reacting with predictable moves). Josie's dad comment about not the team not seeing what's coming, and that is from guy that knows he is going to a black site sounded ominous to me. I thought Cait and Vi in "arcane" was quite good WLW story.

But I am very happy with Cruz and Josie promising each other a date and looking forward to “not talking”. Even though season 3 isn’t a go yet that I’ve seen or read, based on how popular this show has become, I’m confident there will be a third season. I wasn't expecting season two to be just as good as one. I love anything Taylor Sheridan writes though. He weaves the plot with craft and he develops his characters extremely well. It's to the point where almost anyone can understand what the characters are going through. I think Josie is playing them though😂 It would be epic if Aliyah's character showed up😮 i don't put anything past Mr. Sheridan 🤔🤭

I was thinking the same thing, after finding out in this episode that they're going back to Iraq, the mission about Aaliyah's father seemed unfinished.
As much as I would LOVE to see Aaliyah and Cruz together, it wouldn't ever be the same. They will ALWAYS be each other's first and true love but also their biggest heartbreak. That intense lovemaking is just mind-blowing! I would like to see Aaliyah comeback but that wouldn't be possible for Cruz to ever get that close again...😢😭 I gotta admit I am always team C+A but Josie makes more sense. Cruz was attracted to Josie from the beginning but I know she's starving for that warmth, stability, and comfort. Josie is looking for the same but Cruz is also looking to get laid because she is the aggressor this time...😂😏 A lot of buildt up sexual tension is happening, they're probably going to get it in, in s3. If there is a possibility Aaliyah comes back in s3, she would probably be married and have kids. Joe did mention something about Cruz fighting pirates on a ship and was in Africa for years. I would like to at least see what happened to Aaliyah went after her fiance and dad was found unalived. I think that is the only thing we'll get from Aaliyah appearance in the show. I don't know why but I have such a bad feeling about this. It feels like Josie might be on her dad's side from that scene after she leaves her father to Bobby. But I'll still have hope since Josie and Cruz's chemistry is literally as good as Cruz and Aaliyah's, and since wanting Aaliyah back is such a stretch, I would like to have this new ship survive at least.

Ugh… writers for lesbian content need to work harder. I mean… there was really zero lead up to this. I literally rolled my eyes when they scened the initial body glance. Ffs. I truly hate how starved the lesbian nation is STILL that we accept this shit and gobble it up. The rest of the story is fairly decent. Why, oh why, can’t we have a good writer leading this stuff too? I can count like a handful of lesbian stories out there that were good. They could’ve managed this here with the smallest bit of lead ups to the living room exchange. Cruz could’ve grabbed Josie’s baggage at the same time Josie reached out and a small hand brush and glance - the half quirky lesbian smile we all know too well… something. Anything. Nope. Toss two random lesbians in a room and lame lead into near sexual encounter - might as well have had a pizza delivery boy show up for all the lame-a** 80’s p*rn feels up to that point. Gag me with an entire place setting.

Actually I think there was buildup, if you were paying attention. After the night time raid Josie catches Cruz staring at her and she even mouths a “what” to her. And from the moment they start talking Cruz starts sharing about herself to manage Josie as an asset but that has never come easy for Cruz. When they get embedded at the Carrillo estate they start bonding. Even the maid who shares this with her father suspected that she is una novia, her girlfriend. Josie who was so squeamish about privacy at the barracks is changing in the bathroom in front of Cruz. Cruz is trying really hard not to look, to stay detached and professional. But she’s hot and Cruz can’t help notice that. There were some quirky lesbian looks for sure. They absolutely set it up. It’s believable to me.
Correction the first look happens before not after the nighttime raid. After the raid Josie catches fire and asks for a court martial and Cruz calms her down and gets her back on task. In sharing about her experience as a Lioness, she in effect outs herself. I also think that’s a big reason Josie’s walls go down with Cruz. Cruz can’t stand to see her father beating up on her because of her own experience and intervenes perhaps prematurely which she later regrets. When Josie said “Maybe I’m the cure” I just melted. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
@ I disagree. There’s no more energy between them, than from Bobby towards Cruz. The only known hint they would throw these two together was the maids “girlfriend” comment. The shower thing was any introverts extreme shyness or anxiety over a shared space like that.. especially if you’re a lesbian and not wanting to share an open intimate space like that. Then Joe clarifies, saying, “No, Baghdad-Kuwait” (S01E01, minute 31:55). So yes, I still have hope. A girl can dream! I find it a bit strange that @Nur.Steph hid all her previous posts and only left the ones from the show last year (I do follow her), and I thought that might indicate something. But I could be wrong. I also love all the shows that Taylor Sheridan produces, like "Yellowstone," and “Landman" is his signature style. This show is not what i usual watch so I only watch this show for cruz and aaliyah….i stop watching after season 1 finale until or if aaliyah comes back…im all for sapphic contents but from this video cruz and this lady favor to much for me to give the second season a chance . I don't know how I feel about them. Their chemistry is not nearly as good as between Cruz and Aaliyah, at least not yet. It feels a little forced at the moment, like it's not much more than them both just needing to blow off some steam. There was a genuine, deeper connection with Aaliyah. Maybe, given time, I could come around to support Cruz and Josie. But I dunno, it just doesn't feel as real with Josie. She's coming off as a little desperate. And that shot of her holding her stomach, looking super nervous before looking up with intent has me... suspicious. What if she's in on something even deeper with her family? I understand not wanting to betray her father, but she seems excessively scared about something. Truthfully, I'm still stuck on poor Aaliyah crying alone on the steps, her only true friend gone without a trace in a flurry of blood, violence, and unanswered questions. My heart still aches for her and what both she and Cruz lost on that mission. I personally would LOVE to see Aaliyah again in the future, ideally in a reconciliation with Cruz. And now that they're seemingly going back to the middle East... I'm curious if they're going to find a way to write her back in somehow. Plenty of fans are begging for it and I would LOVE it
Josie could be a double agent and could do what Cruz did to Aaliyah. And I don't think it's over with Aaliyah because Cruz freed her from her father and bad marriage. She actually saved her.

I think it’s naive to think that Aaliyah will return to the show. Women have no power in her culture as she so frequently reminded Cruz in Season 1. Plus she must have been in all kinds of trouble for allowing Cruz to get close enough to kill her father and fiancé. She’s probably locked up on a compound in Riyadh. I can’t foresee any reasonable way to have her return. Yes she was Cruz’s first love and always will be. Nothing that happens with Josie or any other character on the show for that matter will take anything away from that. But Cruz has a promising future on the show now as Joe sees her as a potential successor and she is a gay character. Aaliyah helped Cruz realize that about herself. That in itself is huge. The next episode is going to be action-packed, chances for intimate moments will be limited but one can hope. I think next season attention turns back to the border and the cartel and possibly Josie and Cruz get embedded as a couple (cover) but really as Lioness/Shadow. Whatever happens I’m along for the ride, because I agree queer representation is something to rejoice and support. Period.

I’m a big fan of the series as well, it started because of the sapphic relationship between Cruz and Aaliyah but I got drawn into it.
Regarding your speculations, as I recall Aaliyah isn’t Iraqi but rather Saudi. It could make sense that she makes an appearance there given either she wanted to disappear after everything that happened in 1st season final so she moved, or she got eventually married to a wealthy Iraqi man and she lives there now.
To me, I feel like there are still some missing parts in Josie’s story but she’s definitely an interesting character and the chemistry between her and Cruz is definite.

I honestly prefer Josie and Cruz 🤷♀️. Just because of how their character fit together way better. They have a way bigger chance to be able to have an actual relationship. Also the power balance is closer, that was something I did not like with Aaliya ( it felt like there was a power imbalance. idk how explain it) I also think it's highly unlikely that Aaliya would be happy to see her, let's not forget that the night Cruz killed her fiancé and Father she also undstood that her whole relationship with Cruz was fake, you don't come back from that.

Fans of her last romance are mad about this but to me it just makes more sense and it sets up Cruz to ACTUALLY have a love interest that can potentially turn into her partner. I really feel like this is the direction they are going with it. It is literally the same story as Aaliyah except that now Josie is part of Cruz team and everything is out in the open since the get. Josie is part of the world that Cruz is part of also, they have something to bond over and can actually be together depending on how the finale goes, for Aaliyah there was just no way. Fans are saying it's just lust and who knows it might be how it starts but they are definitely going down the couple road, Josies "Maybe I'm the cure" line is in my opinion foreshadowing that.

So i dont think cruz is letting her guard down like we are thinking. If you really watch her actions and how she reacts to things she about the missions. I have to say that i was not sure how to take that one, At the start i felt it was ultra tropy and kind self serving (as LWL was part of S1 appeal ) but with the last episode it is really well done.
I think it feels very organic and in line with what we know of Cruz side, Not sure on the Josie side. If it was "I can't think straight", "a perfect ending" or even "arcane", i would ship it to Gerald R.Ford-class, but given the seriesI can't help but to feels Josie is like the exact set up to compromise/get to Cruz.
I i have the feeling that we are being set up for a massive sucker punch in the last episode. It might be misdirection, but there are lots of thing that makes me think that the team might end up where their opposition want them to be (the upper echelons keep reacting with predictable moves). Josie's dad comment about not the team not seeing what's coming, and that is from guy that knows he is going to a black site sounded ominous to me.
I thought Cait and Vi in "arcane" was quite good WLW story.

Even though I’m sad they didn’t get to talk about their relationship, I have high hopes for their future. Even though season 3 isn’t a go yet that I’ve seen or read, based on how popular this show has become, I’m confident there will be a third season. I gotta admit I am always team C+A but Josie makes more sense. Cruz was attracted to Josie from the beginning but I know she's starving for that warmth, stability, and comfort. Josie is looking for the same but Cruz is also looking to get laid because she is the aggressor this time...😂😏 A lot of buildt up sexual tension is happening, they're probably going to get it in, in s3.
If there is a possibility Aaliyah comes back in s3, she would probably be married and have kids. Joe did mention something about Cruz fighting pirates on a ship and was in Africa for years. I would like to at least see what happened to Aaliyah went after her fiance and dad was found unalived. I think that is the only thing we'll get from Aaliyah appearance in the show. They could give Stephanie a guest appearance for an episode, she did play the hell out of her character w her sexy self and beautiful eyes. One can only HOPE she comeback for the 2nd and last time.
I totally get where you're coming from! Aaliyah and Cruz shared something so special, and it’s hard to imagine them ever recapturing that magic. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and their intense moments will always be unforgettable. As for Josie, I agree-it makes sense for Cruz right now, but I love the tension between them! 😂😏 There’s so much potential for their dynamic in season 3!
And you’re right, if Aaliyah does return, it could be with a whole new chapter in her life. It would be interesting to see what happened after all the chaos. And yes, Stephanie definitely played her role to perfection-she’d be amazing to see again, even if just for a guest appearance.

I don't know why but I have such a bad feeling about this. It feels like Josie might be on her dad's side from that scene after she leaves her father to Bobby. But I'll still have hope since Josie and Cruz's chemistry is literally as good as Cruz and Aaliyah's, and since wanting Aaliyah back is such a stretch, I would like to have this new ship survive at least.
As the date for the final episode approaches, I'm starting to feel anxious. What if one of the characters dies? It would make me really sad to lose Cruz or Josie; I’m so invested in this show and in their stories. The same goes for Joe-if she dies, it would be devastating. One thing is for sure: I cannot wait for Sunday to arrive! ❤️🫣

Ugh… writers for lesbian content need to work harder. I mean… there was really zero lead up to this. I literally rolled my eyes when they scened the initial body glance. Ffs. I truly hate how starved the lesbian nation is STILL that we accept this shit and gobble it up. The rest of the story is fairly decent. Why, oh why, can’t we have a good writer leading this stuff too? I can count like a handful of lesbian stories out there that were good. They could’ve managed this here with the smallest bit of lead ups to the living room exchange. Cruz could’ve grabbed Josie’s baggage at the same time Josie reached out and a small hand brush and glance - the half quirky lesbian smile we all know too well… something. Anything. Nope. Toss two random lesbians in a room and lame lead into near sexual encounter - might as well have had a pizza delivery boy show up for all the lame-a** 80’s p*rn feels up to that point. Gag me with an entire place setting.
I believe this is the beginning that will lead to season 3. The show has received so many positive reviews that I think whatever happens next Sunday will lay the groundwork for the next season. This is clearly how they are starting the setup. I agree that they could have built up the tension a bit more, but honestly-and I know this goes against what you said-I’m just grateful because 2024 has been a bit shit, so right now, I’ll take any and all sapphic content I can get. After years of feeling starved for stories like this, it feels good to finally have them.
Especially stories like this, where being gay is not the main focus. We deserve to be represented everywhere, and even if this doesn't feel entirely right, I do believe it will lead to something good. I also think that Aaliyah will return next Sunday for the final episode as a special guest, and this could mark the start of season 3. Otherwise, why would they go back to Iraq?
We were really lucky with season 1, so it’s fair that this season would be something different. Remember, this is just an amazing show, and I absolutely love it, with good queer representation, and not the other way around. But this is just my humble opinion. Actually I think there was buildup, if you were paying attention. After the night time raid Josie catches Cruz staring at her and she even mouths a “what” to her. And from the moment they start talking Cruz starts sharing about herself to manage Josie as an asset but that has never come easy for Cruz. When they get embedded at the Carrillo estate they start bonding. Even the maid who shares this with her father suspected that she is una novia, her girlfriend. Josie who was so squeamish about privacy at the barracks is changing in the bathroom in front of Cruz. Cruz is trying really hard not to look, to stay detached and professional. But she’s hot and Cruz can’t help notice that. There were some quirky lesbian looks for sure. They absolutely set it up. It’s believable to me.
Correction the first look happens before not after the nighttime raid. After the raid Josie catches fire and asks for a court martial and Cruz calms her down and gets her back on task. In sharing about her experience as a Lioness, she in effect outs herself. I also think that’s a big reason Josie’s walls go down with Cruz. Cruz can’t stand to see her father beating up on her because of her own experience and intervenes perhaps prematurely which she later regrets. When Josie said “Maybe I’m the cure” I just melted. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
@ I disagree. There’s no more energy between them, than from Bobby towards Cruz. The only known hint they would throw these two together was the maids “girlfriend” comment. The shower thing was any introverts extreme shyness or anxiety over a shared space like that.. especially if you’re a lesbian and not wanting to share an open intimate space like that. It was lazy writing.
I think you just see what you want to see. But Cruz was definitely checking Josie out more than once. And who could blame her. Thunder is hot as fuck.

Yes! she is Saudi! However, if you remember in Season One, when Joe is briefing Cruz on the target, Cruz mentions what she can buy in Baghdad because that’s where they lived. Then Joe clarifies, saying, “No, Baghdad-Kuwait” (S01E01, minute 31:55). So yes, I still have hope. A girl can dream!
I find it a bit strange that @Nur.Steph hid all her previous posts and only left the ones from the show last year (I do follow her), and I thought that might indicate something. But I could be wrong. I also love all the shows that Taylor Sheridan produces, like "Yellowstone," and “Landman" is his signature style. This show is not what i usual watch so I only watch this show for cruz and aaliyah….i stop watching after season 1 finale until or if aaliyah comes back…im all for sapphic contents but from this video cruz and this lady favor to much for me to give the second season a chance . I don't know how I feel about them. Their chemistry is not nearly as good as between Cruz and Aaliyah, at least not yet. It feels a little forced at the moment, like it's not much more than them both just needing to blow off some steam. There was a genuine, deeper connection with Aaliyah. Maybe, given time, I could come around to support Cruz and Josie. But I dunno, it just doesn't feel as real with Josie. She's coming off as a little desperate. And that shot of her holding her stomach, looking super nervous before looking up with intent has me... suspicious. What if she's in on something even deeper with her family? I understand not wanting to betray her father, but she seems excessively scared about something.
Truthfully, I'm still stuck on poor Aaliyah crying alone on the steps, her only true friend gone without a trace in a flurry of blood, violence, and unanswered questions. My heart still aches for her and what both she and Cruz lost on that mission. I personally would LOVE to see Aaliyah again in the future, ideally in a reconciliation with Cruz. And now that they're seemingly going back to the middle East... I'm curious if they're going to find a way to write her back in somehow. Plenty of fans are begging for it and I would LOVE it
Josie could be a double agent and could do what Cruz did to Aaliyah. And I don't think it's over with Aaliyah because Cruz freed her from her father and bad marriage. She actually saved her.
