Hello again everyone! It's me, the mercy from the vid. I want to start by saying that since I submitted this vod, I've climbed a little more, peaking at gold 2! Thank you Mr. Emongg for all your tips, I truly hear your voice every time I play mercy now lol. I feel like I've improved a lot since my first vod submission, and I hope to keep climbing and one day reach plat! I wasn't expecting to see this video today so it's been a very pleasant surprise! Also, I wish I could remember why I just abandoned the second point like that, I watched that back and was just as baffled as emongg lmao. I also have been trying to be much more patient with my rezzes, sometimes I forget I have a whole 10 seconds to rez lol.
you're doing great it looks really similar to my gameplay (diamond mercy). a couple things to just keep in mind is valk timings and situational awareness are key to climbing. also, the more that you climb, if there's a map with lots of high ground.. use it. higher rank dps and tanks will kill you faster than you can blink if you even get remotely close to the low ground. other than that your movement, staff balance, and target priority is pretty good here!
i know with this series its done that before. i remember a vid where it showed some moments in b&w of the old video at the beginning, but i think its just a different editor who didn't do that detail.
11:36 i actually think this is also a good thing for mercy players to hear as mercy you’re job is to adapt and be observant of the fight and where your team is and is going to be even when you’re stack you have to find escape routes or choose to die with your team understanding when a fight could go bad you need to use your movement to prevent that easy kill of course it’s based on your team’s position but you can observe how the enemy plays and make decisions based on that it’s a game of do or die but it can reward you your survivability and can turn fights if you know your routes and ways to keep up with the game
17:54 me personally two fliers is hit or miss, mainly bc you have to be EXTRA aware of what either of them are looking at bc they could be targeting the same person or just doing whatever else i personally stick w pharah bc it’s some simple ga’s that are quick and then once i see my echo dive i go with her but it’s all a balancing act i’d rather have an ashe echo if anything or a pharah soj
@emongg i personally (as a tank player) love the little tidbits of general advice to enable other players. also, would love if you would go over positioning for tanks when they aren't quite in the proper spot, even on dps or support spectates. doesn't have to be too Indepth or anything that would take away from the main spectating, but like "the Orisa there could be a little safer if she took x corner instead of y because of [this reason]" thanks for the great content as always! love ya brother!
15:30 i think this rez actually couldve worked fine if she swung more behind her sigma and to the side of the cart, the main issue was rezzing with such a wide angle that she knew the enemy was sitting on. hard agree with the rest that the team got a pick and you should wait a second to assess the situation further, but the mercy couldve also avoided dying if she thought about the sightlines a bit more and made sure to swing around more to have both the cart and her sigma (and his shield) as cover
As helpful as it is for your teammates to position in a way that you have escape routes, you CANNOT rely on that. It is also on the Mercy to maintain distance. You should position yourself far enough away from your team that you are able to use them to reposition yourself. -a Mercy main with the same problem PS, I thought they were at least high gold
17:47 i really dislike 2 flyers.. it becomes a lot to pay attention to. you may think, "2 flyers you'll never have to touch the ground!" when the reality is - youre with your echo, go to heal your tank or support... now both echo and pharah are nowhere to be seen.. as mercy, if you play her for long enough, you get really used to looking down at your teammates that it becomes difficult to look up at times
The tips on how to help your teammates who are on mercy are really useful! There's so many people that only play mercy even when they struggle and any tips on how to help them out a bit during a match is super helpful!
i love when you explain how to help a certain hero because i personally watch all sorts of spectates to try and understand dps/tank players better so i can adjust my playstyle to our advantage, ps love your videos
the tips would be a great addition. I play mostly Mercy and it is a treat when I get teammates who know how to enable me to better help them. "peeking" is a big one for helping Mercys too. nothing worse than when someone's critical but they're behind a wall just perfectly out of sight for me to help them when they could peek me without being in any danger, or when I need an escape route but my pharah is flying with the top of a building breaking my LOS and i die. hearing tips like this from the other side (especially tips for playing with certain tanks) would be awesome.
knowledge on how to help other players have value and also tips like protecting an echo so mercy has a gap close escape is HUGELY helpful for me please keep adding content like that! udabes

Awesome Mercy gameplay! They were active and smart how they used cover, and did a great job damage boosting and healing where they could. Would love to co support with this player!
I would love to have more tips on how to also help others. Especially as you pointed it out I did realize that my teammate who loves to play Mercy often has an easier time surviving when I am Ashe as they can just fly to me any time. Just never actively acknowledged that before
From my experience, widows are completely overlooked and ignored by their own team in diamond and lower. If or when you can pull out a huge play and show up all over the killfeed with no support is exactly the moment I feel the heals and support from my team when I get dived and such. just something to remember as a support, don't make your teammates 'earn' your heals. enable them to pop off first, then adjust if you have a carry. - sincerely, a support main, diamond in all roles
17:50 i usually like pocketing echo more, it depends whos more in profit of the dmg boost, sometimes my echo doesnt hit anything (thats probably because its gold) then i'd go to pharah, and sometimes pharah just goes in, shoots one rocket and dies, and then i'd rather stay with echo ':)
Gold was an easy guess, if you remembered that their Widow friend was Gold 3 in the last VoD. Their Widow didn't exactly appear to pop off in this one, so Silver seemed unlikely.

Thats why u have a kiriko. Does kiriko give enhanced damage? No. You do, so she just heals and suzus. Id say just heal dva to half and let kiriko do the rest.
You're right - Mercy shouldn't heal the tank the whole time. Your reasoning is way off though. Kiri just heals and suzus? She doesn't deal damage then? The reason you're right is that Kiri's damage can be woven between her heals, and that typically works best on main behind the tank. Whereas Mercy's damage boost typically works better on a DPS because they can output damage faster than a tank. So Mercy should probably focus more on the DPS and Kiri more on the tank, but not because Kiri only "heals and susus" lol.

12:20 this advice applies to Kiriko as well :) Always nice to have a sniper or something in the back you can retreat to
