- Disbelief grips Woodridge Forest as residents discover CenterPoint overlooked their power outage. Unscathed by fallen trees, this Porter subdivision puzzles over why their underground lines remain lifeless when neighboring areas have recovered. Frustration mounts as they struggle for visibility on the power provider's grid, revealing startling gaps in storm response and recovery.

Centerpoint is not the problem. Blame Texas Leadership & grids! Hopefully everyone gets power soon! ❤
Centrepoint CEO makes over $37 million a year.
And his power never went out
That's actually not a lot for a CEO to make especially for an electric/utility company. I've seen CEOs get 21 million dollar severance packages after being fired from other companies.
@@kp6042You his roommate?
Same thing happened to me in my neighborhood in Pearland , half my neighborhood had power since Tuesday after the storm , the rest didn’t get power until Saturday. I saw a truck come out here for literally 5 min ! And bam! We had lights
Same here in Texas City.. they fixed all our neighborhood but us. Guys come out 5 days later, it takes them 20 minutes and we're up. Why'd the first guys leave us like this???
@@mmhthreebecause they either didn't know there was an additional issue, cutting yall off, or they didn't have the parts on hand
Sue Centerpoint
If the power goes out the government is not going to help you.
One of the first things anyone who has taken a CERT class (Community Emergency Response Team). Households must be self sustaining for a minimum of 3 days. The premise is by then a neighborhood has organized for a longer term emergency.
The first line of help is for you to help yourself. We live in the south this is to be expected.
People forget that overhead lines feed underground services. So if the overhead lines are down you will be down.
they don't forget, they are just ignorant and if you try to educate them, they don't want to hear it. they just want to blame someone
Ain’t nobody gonna talk about this lady Turing on her generator INSIDE HER GARAGE???!! Don’t matter that her doors are up….
You mean at the door of her open garage with exhaust facing out.... How do you start your vehicle in the garage, or do you roll it out 1st.... 🤦
@AnX8765 like you said. You don't know all the facts... you get to assume she's leaving it 24/7 while making excuses a car doesn't stay there that long....
Houston is a hell hole for crime. How can you find fault with her for trying to hide the generator?
Agreed. That's not smart. In my work I've seen a lot of carbon monoxide death cases and that's just not smart. When you start your car in the garage, it's only there temporarily, not 24/7 like with a generator. I hope she sees this and pulls it outside.
@@gghhhgghhh3037 and you are assuming she's gonna close it 🙄🤦♀️💁♀️ quit being dramatic
We are in the neighborhood right next door without power as well. Finally saw some workers yesterday in the area, but we are on not scheduled to be powered up until the 19th.
I'm getting a little tired of CenterPoint trying to use Ike as some kind of measuring stick to their success. You guys failed Houston during Ike and you failed Houston during Beryl. Learned nothing from Ike.
Center point CLUELE$$!!!!!!!!
CenterPointLe$$
I live in Cypress Tx in the Nw Houston outskirts. We got lucky our lights 💡 flickered but stayed on. I feel bad for seniors small children and babies. Some medicines need to be refrigerated or cold milk and juice for kids. Hopefully 🙏🏼 power gets back up and running soon 😕
That's why I called twice to report power outage incase they 4got us. We just got power late last night
They don’t care about you people!
they care about profit
@@mike_w-tw6jd profit over lives!
Literally over 90% of business have this mindset, or they fail. Statistics...
I worked for Trees, Inc. cutting trees off downed power lines after hurricane Alicia. Some folks power was out for months after Alicia until new poles and high transmission lines was reerected. Power outages are always inconvenient. Patience is necessary, like it or not. It takes time to reconnect a large electrical grid with so much damage. Not to mention utility workers being attacked by some of the affected public. It's odd the governor of Texas is blaming Center Point Energy for not getting the power restored instantly. Sound like ERCOT is being let off the hook for overseeing a faulty grid. Especially during the current administration and Republican legislature. 😮
Thats sad all they want is an apology!!!!! 🥴🥴🥴
2001 my power was out for 12 days. Power never went out on the other side of the street The mobilehome park i lived in was treated as less than Thanks for nothing entergy.
Enter has power, Centerpoint doesn't, same streets , same neighborhood
,,, that makes no sense Centerpoint sucks
I have entergy i also live in porter and i actually got power thusrday night.
First, I feel for these people. We just got power yesterday.
I however, was person turning on the generator in the beginning of the clips doing it inside their garage. Is that safe?
Not safe to run generator in garage.
It will be fine. The 2 vehicle garage door is open, and the exhaust is facing out of the garage at the edge of the garage... A well ventilated area....
I think they're recommending 10 feet from the doors.
They’re getting kick backs from the generator company
maybe, generac and the other bigger manufacturers don't support right to repair, and the motors require dealership maintenance (like an oil change basically) every 7-8 days of operation. I could see a scenario where generac offered them a % of maintenance profits if they could force a certain amount. That looks like a relatively nice area with people who can afford generators.
@@Amp5150 imagine if 20% of 3.5 mil people decided to purchase one. Average cost minus installation $6k
Didn’t Texas want their own power grid? Is this a result of that and how it’s going to be?
Texas has always had a power grid
That’s why Texas power companies can gouge you during times like these. Scott Willoughby was charge 16,000 during the 2021 winter storm.
not to do with the grid
bad planning on centerpoint
@@alland.713 bad planning on not updating the grid? It has everything to do with the grid. People don’t have power, therefore the grid is the problem.
No this has nothing to do with Texas having their own grid. It has to do with Centerpoint the local power generation company not maintaining the lines in the trees around the lines and planning for disaster.
I’m very thankful that I have Entergy here in Arkansas!
I'm on the 19th too
Meyerland nesting area
We are green on the map as well
I'm paying for rent and hotel
We need free power, housing, gas, and grocery reimbursement. I spent the first 4 days running my gas out trying to keep cool in the car and charge. I finally got paid and got a hotel. Dates are constantly being pushed back, I'm told no crew had been assigned. I called just an hour ago and they're saying their system is down and they don't have information. I don't get any updates through texts, it's radio silent. Texas/ Houston politics is going to result in death of the citizens. Access to mild winters, good bbq, and great concerts is not worth my life. I can't believe Chris Brown will be performing at Toyota Center tomorrow, while the fans have no power at home.
This summer has been wonky.
We had the same problem with our subdivision, it was showing energized and centerpoint didn’t do anything until I kept calling persistently through their lack of empathy customer service with no eta…. Worst power company ever…
GREG ABBOTT'S DAMN FAULT!
At lease Centerpoint is fair. They don't care your status. "No electricity for you"
Please edit this video. I believe it looks like she’s starting up a generator in a garage never and I mean never start a generator in the garage. It must be 20 to 30 feet away from your house with the muffler where the exhaust comes out, pointed away away from any openings of a structure, do you research before using a generator? This video is misleading, please
At least yall have a date. We still are yet to be given a date.
When my power was out in Jasper, TX after Beryl, I saved $2.00 on electricity.
Exactly. Freaking ridiculous
It's so hot here fml 😅
"Say your sorry." No girl get our power back on.
Centerpoint dosen't service Porter. Porter is under Entergy LMFAO..... waste of time story.
Tell that to the residents there…
And you never started generator with gasoline next to it. This is totally wrong. Get this video down take it down.
I wonder if the people who own or work for centerpoint use this useless service
All them big houses and no backup generators🙄👌.😂
Wow🤣
I guess some DEI higher failed again
They can't do their job. Too big for them. Not nearly as smart as they think they are. No where near.

Centerpoint knows your power is out the same smart meter that makes it easier for them to not need meter readers also lets them know your power is out by not being responded. You are literally crying about your neighborhood you are not the only ones I got power back last night, some family a few roads over in a different neighborhood just got power back today and some friends in an neighborhood a bit further down is still without power. I have underground lines but the problem are not in the hoods with underground lines it is the lines that carry to the point where they get buried.
