Excellent review I bought one at the back end of last year and have only worn it about six times but I am very impressed with the quality of the helmet, it does feel quite solid when you first use it but it feels very safe and looks outstanding compared to others on the market. I bought the peak separate and I’ve just ordered the snap on visor, which I’m looking forward to trying out. The only slight down side was the helmet came without a soft cover, I know the bag has a soft lining but the zip is unavoidable when placing the helmet inside.
Got mine but had to size up. For some reason Medium doesnt fit me well. Im a Medium in the Bell Bullitt. Really perfect fit. Got a large and they fit perfectly.
Same for me. Went from S to M something that to be honest I don't like but truth is that M fits better. I just hope it will remain like this in the future.
I was wondering what size should buy because each brand seems to have different size fits despite all having roughly the size fitments. After measuring approx 1 inch above my eyebrows, it gave me a measurement of 58.5 and my head is an intermediate oval shape. I wear an AGV Medium (58) K3 helmet which fits well but is full face and tried a duchinni open face helmet which seemed to fit very well but was an XXL (64). These are obviously quite a bit apart so what would be the best size for me to buy? Thanks in advance.
Hi Emmet! Well as you mentioned different brands, different sizing. In this particular model seems like you are between sizes M - L, in this case I would recommend getting a L as more likely the M would be too tight. Of course as we are all different it's hard to say for sure. If anything you are always welcome to return the item back to us, just keep all it's original packaging and tags :)
Hi guys, bought one of the Custom 500 from you guys a year or so ago and I'm super happy with it...I would like to buy a pair of mx classic style goggles and was wondering which ones you would recommend as I found that with my Biltwell moto 2 for instance the goggles presses against my nose a bit as the custom 500 tends to sit pretty low on the head which is what makes it so low profile as an open face helmet so it looks very compact. Any goggles you would recommend that would fit well to solve this problem I'm having? cheers!
You've hit the nail on the head - it's the only real downside to this lid. The Aviator googles fit well, but don't have that MX style. It may be worth checking out some MX goggles for children - much less likely to press down on your nose!
Just bought this helmet, I'm a (M) according to the size chart. Kept it on in the house for about 20mins and it feels a bit tight. Will it loosen up or do I need a (L) ? Guidance was to err on the side of slightly tight as it will stretch out. Looks the part though and I got the deluxe pack so came with the bag, peak and visor! Need some goggles now :)
Hi - I wouldn't usually recommend sticking with a helmet that feels too tight, especially if it is around the forehead/temple area. If it's just the cheeks, it should be fine and loosen up. But you don't want to size up and have one that is dangerously too big!
@@UrbanRiderlondon Thanks for your reply, I tried it on a couple more times yesterday and had it on in the house for around 50mins whilst working from home (Didn't do a Video Conference with it on though lol). It seems fine and no longer tight. Looking for retro goggles now, I believe Halycon are quite good. Any recommendations will be appreciated to fit this helmet correctly. Thanks.

I have the blue RSD carbon fibre 500. Had it 2&1/2 years. It is superb.
Great!
Gracias!
I just returned mine and got the Daytona. No more Mushroom look and it comes with visor
So disappointed that Bell did not fit a goggle stripe on the back of the lovely 500 custom (Check it ) helmet

HI Joshua, some brands have different sizing depending on the model. Thanks for sharing about your experience on these! - Iza

I bought 1 in size M.. but I feel it too tight in my forehead but then change it for size L.. and it moves so much on my head.. not sure what to do
It might be worth looking at alternatives - not every helmet is suitable for every head
nice review! what visor is this?
any answers ?
looks like BELL THREE-SNAP HELMET SHIELD/ Dark Smoke Retro 3 Snap Fixed Shield
What are your thoughts on the BELL open face helmets, do you already wear one, or are you thinking of getting one ?
What goggles are on the table?
You could not wear a helmet at all, or at least go with this and show some consideration for your safety. I have one 👍
it might be carbon fiber but why is the outside shell a carbon fiber sticker chips off when you drop it
bruh, why is it so high on his head?!?!

Can anything be done about the woefully thin cheek pads?

@Schuey did you get the Halcyon goggles? And did they fit with the medium helmet okay?
If my head size is at 54cm which is XS according to the size chart. Should I get a S size instead?
You're probably still XS!
Measure your head properly, there is a certain way you do it.
head size 55 cm and what size would it be ?
Hi, based on the size guide you should be a Small. - Iza
Perfect review. He's very expert and skilled, but it could be wonderful if his speech would be little slower. He speaks too fast!!
