The Blue Jays were really aggressive in trying to get Ohtani and Soto But realistically they had little chance to get them .Due to a poor farm system which Ohtani pointed out which was in the bottom 5 of the MLB plus they do not have any offensive player with great impact signed long term like Bo Bichette and Vladamir Guererro Jr Both players especially Vllad wanted to sign long term contracts after the 2022 season and the club made no effort to sign Vlad and Bo long term. Besides after the 2022 season the Blue Jays traded 2 great productive players in the middle of lineup Lourdes Guriel Jr and Teoscar Hernandez For little offensive impact players Daulton Varsho and Kevin Kiermair just good defensively . You totally have Friedman’s words twisted. You apparently are not aware that the Dodgers gave Teo an offer about a week after the Series ended ($25M/year for 3 years). So, Friedman made those comments AFTER having given Teo an offer weeks before Friedman made those comments. Friedman’s comments weren’t saying he wasn’t going to give Teo an offer unless he commits to the Dodgers and then letting him walk if Teo doesn’t commit to the Dodgers with no offer in hand. That interpretation is ridiculous, especially since Teo has had an offer for weeks that pays a higher salary and covers the next 3 years. If Teo walks, it absolutely is on him, not the Dodgers because he would be chasing money with a lesser team, which would be total hypocrisy given his tears and proclamation about wanting to be a Dodger. The Dodgers have gone after him and offered him the best contract of his career. To think the Dodgers are leaving Teo without an offer while they signed deals with Snell, Edmun , Treinen & Conforto very quickly is ridiculous for any Dodger fan to think that is how the Dodgers operate.
Keep in mind that the Dodgers signed Teo for $23M for this past season when the team he really wanted to sign with, Red Sox, offered him $28M over 2 years after performing badly for the Mariners. So, the Dodgers have been very fair with Teo, but he and his agent decided to sit on the Dodgers offer until Soto signed to try to pimp more money from other teams. Teo could have signed the Dodgers offer weeks ago if he really wanted to be a Dodger as he has proclaimed. If Teo wants to chase more money with other teams, more power to him as I will always support anybody trying to make more money. But what I have a problem with is Teo is him chasing more money, after putting on a show during the parade shedding tears and proclaiming he wants to be a Dodger. If he is going to try to play the Dodgers and pursue more money with other teams, then his tears and words about wanting to be a Dodger is a pile of horse shit. I have lost respect for Teo, as he tried to play the devoted Dodger while giving the team the stiff arm while pursuing other offers. You are bad-mouthing the best organization and team president in MLB while conjuring up the idea that a 1-year plug & play player (who you probably didn’t know before the Dodgers signed him) is being mistreated by the Dodgers. You couldn’t have it more twisted if you tried.
Compare Teo’s actions to Blake Snell’s signing. You don’t think Snell knew he was leaving money on the table by signing early? You don’t think the Yankees would have signed Snell for at least the amount they signed Max Fried? There isn’t a question that Scott Boras advised Snell that he could get more if he waited. But being a Dodger was more important to Snell than chasing more money and Snell wanted to sign and be a Dodger asap. That is how someone who wants to really be a Dodger conducts themselves.
If Teo takes more money from the Jays or anybody else, he won’t be playing for another Series ring.

Toronto was absolutely stupid to trade Teoscar Hernandez for an average reliever Swanson.People here hate Ross Atkins for trading Teoscar And the team here has been basically terrible offensively since he was traded and Lourdes Guriel Jr was traded also. The Blue Jays were really aggressive in trying to get Ohtani and Soto But realistically they had little chance to get them .Due to a poor farm system which Ohtani pointed out which was in the bottom 5 of the MLB plus they do not have any offensive player with great impact signed long term like Bo Bichette and Vladamir Guererro Jr Both players especially Vllad wanted to sign long term contracts after the 2022 season and the club made no effort to sign Vlad and Bo long term. Besides after the 2022 season the Blue Jays traded 2 great productive players in the middle of lineup Lourdes Guriel Jr and Teoscar Hernandez For little offensive impact players Daulton Varsho and Kevin Kiermair just good defensively . To summarize The Blue Jays organization right now is a total mess so Teoscar should stay in L.A and work out the best contract there or go to the Yankees where both these 2 teams have a chance to win the world series. Toronto has very little chance to win unless they start taking risks like signing good offensive players long term like Vlad and Bo because those 2 players will lure other good offesive hitters to the Blue Jays and good pitchers also

I don’t mind the Dodgers not being willing to improve their offer based on market value. Just stop telling me how much you think culture is important.
