Coloratura is operatic term and people usually think of Queen of the night which requires agility in 6th octave. So it's not easy to apply this term to pop music. but when it comes to pop music, agile vocal acrobatic should be the coloratura. 6th octave is not sung a lot in pop music. Though it's not very high like Queen of the night, She adds so many agrements here. If I just wanted to show you her vocal acrobatics, I would pick up other videos as well, but I tried to show you her agile runs here. Though, like I said, her usual style is not very agile.
There are many high-pitched singers in the world, but only she can express high-pitched sounds that are elegant, wonderful and beautiful like her. She is neither an opera singer nor a popular singer. As she is a CCM singer, Sohyang's talent is even more amazing.
Bottom line is she touches your Soul with her voice:-)) She’s more then a Fantastic voice and you feel it! Never have I had a singer affect me and my emotions the way she does! She’s a simple woman, SIMPLY AMAZING!!
That last clip of this video was so emotional that I shed my tears..it also make me realised how amazing she is,she's doesn't want to be a famous singer,she only want to sing for God and make people comfort who has a hard time..that's why I love her so much..she'll forever be my favourite singer ever! But Kim SoHyang is more impressive than the likes of Tori Kelly and Jessie J in that her chest and head voices are are a seamless whole and she can properly transition (not just 'switch') between ranges of the voice.
SKMRify I Stan Sohyang but her agility isn't as impressive Tori Kelly. Tori has one of the most agile voices ever. Jessie J is JUST slightly ahead agility wise.
Ive Mc Fallen true but tori's runs are more fluid and smooth. Sohyang gets pitchy sometimes and kinda messes up when she tries to be agile on purpose. She isnt naturally agile because of her fach but the fact that her agility ranks as "great/excellent" is impressive if you think she naturally isnt very agile. She has showcased great agility many times before tho. She just isnt very consistent with her agility
Marios AVATAR Listen it's because of the proclivity of her voice anything above a dramatic soprano lacks the vocal density to not be agile. So Hyang's ear and control has taken her this far, but she hasn't trained much in this area, that's why to an extent she's lacking

불후의명곡에서 마이클볼튼을 초청해서 소향 및 박정현과 에일리 등등의 가수가 같이 대결을 펼쳤죠. 거기서 소향이 1등을 했는데 프로그램 자체가 선곡빨과 순번빨이 심해서 선곡과 순번에 따라서 누구든 1등이 되도 이상하지 않을만큼 다들 내노라하는 가창력의 가수들이 나왔기에 거기서의 순위는 크게 의미가 없었는데 영상에도 나왔지만 마이클볼튼 콘서트에 유일하게 초청받은 이가 소향이었죠. 월드클래스 가수가 인정했는데도 소향을 까는 이들은 정말 막귀임을 스스로 증명한 셈이죠. 우리나라에서 태어나서 저런 푸대접을 받는구나하며 안타깝기도 하지만 그래도 우리나라에서 소향의 노래를 들을 수 있어서 행복합니다.
One of my favourite runs is at the 1:45 mark. 5:30 for the look of admiration from the background vocal lady behind Sohyang (on the right). Also loved seeing the footage of her walking between the audience seating sections at the end of the video.
휴.. 소향이 고음만 질러대는 가수라고? 그렇게 말하는 사람들 있으면 아마도 3종류 겠죠. 심하게 질투하거나(우리나라사람들 종특 남 잘되는 꼴 절대 못봄), 노래는 랩이나 댄스 노래가 최고다라고 말하시는 분들, 노래를 아예 모르시는 분들. 소향은 저음부터 시작해서 고음까지 자유자제로 와따리가따리 할 수있는 가수입니다. 한마디로 레전드죠. 저런 음색을 낼 수있는 가수 전세계에서도 몇명 안됩니다. 제 생각에는 박정현도 나름 레전드지만 소향보다는 한수 아래라고 말하고 싶네요. 소향을 알기 전까지 박정현 팬이였습니다. 지금도 팬이지만.
저런 테크닉은 본적도 없다..해외 흑인들은 피치나 볼륨이 훨씬 떨어지지..그이유는 샤우트 고음 ,진성 부분 고음도 두성을 쓰는데 이 발성테크닉이 남들보다 월등하기때문에 볼륨 차이가 크고..또한 그런 발성이 되기때문에 가성으로 옮겨진 두성또한 볼륨이 차이가 난다,머라이어캐리 두성 하이노트가 유명하지만 중고음대에서 고음으로 이어지는 라인에서의 볼륨이나 피치는 소향이 월등하다. 다만 흑인 특유의 소울로 인해 소향의 에드립라인들이 그보다 못하다 평가 받을수는 있지만..소리내는 발성에서는 세계누구도 따라 올수 없다..보기만 해도 숨차서 경이로울 지경이다.그대표곡으로 여러분을 뽑는데..이노래 같은 라인 같은 피치 ..가성 진성 따져서 그렇게 부드럽고 파워풀하게 똑같이 부를 수 있는 사람은 내가 아는 한 이 지구엔 없다.ㅋ

If you want to learn sohyang's techniques in singing, do the "masque technique" and "open throat singing" if you don't have money for vocal lessons and trainings, you can search it on youtube, and see the demonstrations.. it helps me a lot, i'm a male, and my vocal type is baritone, now i can hit notes with ease like soprano.
Can somebody tell me if there is another female artist out there today that can do what So Hyang can. This video shows alot of her technique but there are much more she can do. I've seen other videos recently and i was shocked how amazing her vocal abilities are. Her volume control and her emoting ability is just as impressive.

노래에 올림픽이 있다면 소향은 금메달 따고도 남을 사람이죠... 나가수, 불후의명곡, 복면가왕 등등.... 모든 경연의 성격을 띤 방송에서 경쟁가수들이 소향의 노래를 직접 듣는순간 이미 내 능력과는 비교가 안된다는걸 표정으로 인정하는 장면들이 수두룩하죠 그냥 듣는사람 입장에서도 그걸 느끼지만 부르는 사람입장에서 보면 기가죽을정도로 테크닉적인 모든면에서 압도할 정도로 잘합니다. 고수가 고수를 알아보듯이 노래를 불러본사람... 아니 어디서나 노래잘부른다고 인정받을 정도의 실력이 되는사람,가수일수록 소향이 얼마나 대단한 능력의 소유자라는걸 더 잘알죠 이건 국내외를 막론하고 전문가들이 논리적 분석적으로 입증한 상태라 반박불가이구요 다만 음악이란 예술분야는 절대적인 기준점이 없고 주관적 관점에서 평가되기에 남이 다 좋다고 해도 자기가 싫다면 그만이라 가치를 모르는 귀를 가진이들에겐 아무리 떠들어 봤자 도리어 반감이 더 커져서 소리만 꽥꽥 지른다는 표현으로 까기 바쁜거구요 ㅎㅎ
요새 노래를 하는지 뭔지도 모르게 흐느적 대고 숨만 몰아쉬다가 사랑타령이나 하고 질질 짜다가 마지막에 소리나 지르는 사재기충, 음색충 등등 그리고 걔네들 빨아재끼는 것들이 이것 좀 봤으면 좋겠다. 난 음알못에 막귀라 발성이 뭔지도 모르고 저게 뭐 어떤 기술이고 뭐고 이런거 하나도 모르지만 하나는 안다. 진짜 잘한다.
SoHyang can do runs at upper belts shows that she has the potential to be coloratura soprano. However, I still haven't heard any real sign of coloratura passages sung by her. You guys should check out Lara Fabian's beautiful Acoustic Version of Bambina. Her singing did display some real sign of coloratura passages.

5:45 best thing I have ever heard, she is clearly one of the best vocalists ever.
I think she really does have a lot more agility than people give her credit for! She just chooses not to use it as much.
Riffing and agility tends to come much more naturally to higher voices since their vocal cords are thinner.

휴.. 소향이 고음만 질러대는 가수라고? 그렇게 말하는 사람들 있으면 아마도 3종류 겠죠. 심하게 질투하거나(우리나라사람들 종특 남 잘되는 꼴 절대 못봄), 노래는 랩이나 댄스 노래가 최고다라고 말하시는 분들, 노래를 아예 모르시는 분들.
소향은 저음부터 시작해서 고음까지 자유자제로 와따리가따리 할 수있는 가수입니다. 한마디로 레전드죠. 저런 음색을 낼 수있는 가수 전세계에서도 몇명 안됩니다.
제 생각에는 박정현도 나름 레전드지만 소향보다는 한수 아래라고 말하고 싶네요. 소향을 알기 전까지 박정현 팬이였습니다. 지금도 팬이지만.

저런 테크닉은 본적도 없다..해외 흑인들은 피치나 볼륨이 훨씬 떨어지지..그이유는 샤우트 고음 ,진성 부분 고음도 두성을 쓰는데 이 발성테크닉이 남들보다 월등하기때문에 볼륨 차이가 크고..또한 그런 발성이 되기때문에 가성으로 옮겨진 두성또한 볼륨이 차이가 난다,머라이어캐리 두성 하이노트가 유명하지만 중고음대에서 고음으로 이어지는 라인에서의 볼륨이나 피치는 소향이 월등하다.
다만 흑인 특유의 소울로 인해 소향의 에드립라인들이 그보다 못하다 평가 받을수는 있지만..소리내는 발성에서는 세계누구도 따라 올수 없다..보기만 해도 숨차서 경이로울 지경이다.그대표곡으로 여러분을 뽑는데..이노래 같은 라인 같은 피치 ..가성 진성 따져서 그렇게 부드럽고 파워풀하게 똑같이 부를 수 있는 사람은 내가 아는 한 이 지구엔 없다.ㅋ

If you want to learn sohyang's techniques in singing, do the "masque technique" and "open throat singing" if you don't have money for vocal lessons and trainings, you can search it on youtube, and see the demonstrations.. it helps me a lot, i'm a male, and my vocal type is baritone, now i can hit notes with ease like soprano.
Can somebody tell me if there is another female artist out there today that can do what So Hyang can. This video shows alot of her technique but there are much more she can do. I've seen other videos recently and i was shocked how amazing her vocal abilities are. Her volume control and her emoting ability is just as impressive.

하늘이 내린 목소리
솔직히 10여전에는 고음도 잘 내고 잘부른다는것은 알았지만..비명처럼 느껴지는게 있었음.헌데 최근들어서 진짜 완성된 느낌이랄까..이건 뭐 거의 신급...정말 어릴때부터 체계적으로 대형 소속사의 지원아래 컸다면 더 이른 나이에 엄청난 가수가 되지 않았을까 싶네여.

나가수, 불후의명곡, 복면가왕 등등.... 모든 경연의 성격을 띤 방송에서 경쟁가수들이 소향의 노래를 직접 듣는순간 이미 내 능력과는 비교가 안된다는걸 표정으로 인정하는 장면들이 수두룩하죠
그냥 듣는사람 입장에서도 그걸 느끼지만 부르는 사람입장에서 보면 기가죽을정도로 테크닉적인 모든면에서 압도할 정도로 잘합니다.
고수가 고수를 알아보듯이 노래를 불러본사람... 아니 어디서나 노래잘부른다고 인정받을 정도의 실력이 되는사람,가수일수록 소향이 얼마나 대단한 능력의 소유자라는걸 더 잘알죠
이건 국내외를 막론하고 전문가들이 논리적 분석적으로 입증한 상태라 반박불가이구요
다만 음악이란 예술분야는 절대적인 기준점이 없고 주관적 관점에서 평가되기에 남이 다 좋다고 해도 자기가 싫다면 그만이라 가치를 모르는 귀를 가진이들에겐 아무리 떠들어 봤자

SoHyang can do runs at upper belts shows that she has the potential to be coloratura soprano. However, I still haven't heard any real sign of coloratura passages sung by her. You guys should check out Lara Fabian's beautiful Acoustic Version of Bambina. Her singing did display some real sign of coloratura passages.
