  • It's getting warmer, so it's time to get the AC prepared for the hot weather, to hopefully have another flawless season of cooling!. I opened the top assembly, and secured with bungee cords. After that I vacuumed the base out, cleaned the coils, and scrubbed the base out with soapy water. After that everything got a quick wax, and then reassembled.
Now will it work?! Stay tubed!
Here is the coil cleaner product I used: www.nucalgon.c...
    Where I purchased it: www.amazon.com...
Thanks for stopping by to watch, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell!

thanks for showing us how to clean the AC . My HVAC guy only cleaned the outside and was in and out in 20 minutes. Next time I"ll do it myself!!

You’re welcome! Not a difficult job. By doing it yourself, you’ll know it’s done right, and save a lot of money.

    Very nice work!
I plan on doing ours either next weekend, or the weekend after. I never videoed that in the past, but I shall remedy that.

Probably best efficiency it can get! Maybe give the coils just one more spray down once the pollen lowers again.

Indeed! I timed it for when the pollen settled down, so I should be good there. I'll need to rinse it down again, when the Cottonwood seeds quit blowing in. It's just starting to come in a little now, and should be settled down in June.

Very nice! I’ve always been fascinated by HVACR. it’s getting warmer here where Im located, so I plan to get around to checking out our 1988 Lennox unit sometime soon. 34 years old and we’ve only had to replace the run cap, which went out last year. Hopefully it works!

Awesome! I'd like to see a video that 1988 Lennox, they were still making fine equipment during that time! I bet it'll cool just fine, when it's needed.

You did a great job as always, definitely would hire you for a job. Being that that was such a new unit I don’t know if I would’ve actually done coil cleaning on it personally just a rinse with a hose would’ve been enough. I’ve had mine several years and have never used coil cleaner on it it’s underneath the porch so I guess it doesn’t get that dirty but I do remember some AC guys saying that that stuff could be lethal when used often.

      Thank you!
I live in a fairly dusty area, and have some Cottonwood trees nearby, being R410, I want to make sure ever square inch of the coil is perfectly clean! I only use once a year, it is quite potent.

Hi. I'm in south florida in a single family 2200sqft under air home. I was quoted a Carrier 2-Stage, High Efficiency 24TPA748 (outdoor) and High Efficiency, Variable Speed FV4CNF005 (outdoor) units with a honeywell 9000 TS. Is this all a good pairing for my house? Is it overkill? Also it's a seer1 rating. Is that ok? I was quoted 8k which includes a new hurricane pad and supply plenum installed on garage ceiling. Good price right?

Sounds like a great price to me! I'm not an installer though, but that's about what we paid for this system.

After you deep clean from the inside-out, during the rest of the year can you just spray from the outside-in to maintain it?

I use a very gentle flow of water from the outside around mid-summer, starting at the top of the coil, and working down, so I don't push dirt, and cottonwood seed back into the coil fins. I could make a video showing that process, when it's time.

Attached to the roof with bungee cords.
