At first I thought the shade range was narrow, but when you mentioned the undertones were more neutral I got more excited about it 😍 looks so good on you!
Thank you thank you thank for talking about how these products do not replace your regular SPF! It is a huge pet peeve of mine and something I actually think is borderline unethical when brands and influencers act like a tinted SPF product or a foundation with SPF in it will replace your SPF.
I completely agree. I didn’t know much about it and I mistakenly said the ilia tint is a great spf step and have been trying to right my wrongs ever since !! Thank you for your comment ✨
I freaking LOVE this. I'm out of town for two weeks and this is the only base product I brought with me. So impressive that they made a high-zinc formula so sheer!
I've just ordered this from Sephora. I'm super pumped to try it out after seeing your video and rating. I like how no nonsense and honest you are about the products. Since I bought it online, without swatching in store, I hope the tint works out for me🥺 But i'm feeling so much more confident about this tinted moisturizer now. Full coverage foundations tend to look way over the top on my skin, so i love sheer to medium ones I can combine with a touch of concealer so my skin can actually look like my skin. Thank you for the video!!😍😊
@@commedecarson First off, I LOVE my new Saie Slip Tint. It's a dream in my ultra dry skin. I first got the 3.5 shade, which will look great in the summer; gives me a lovely warm glow. But I ended up getting the no. 3 shade for now and everyday use, it's a better match for my skin. I'm in LOVE with it & see myself using it possibly even exclusively. Saie was wonderful about communicating with me when I had concerns about the 3.5 not being the best match. They even offered to process an exchange/return but I'm holding on to it to use once summer is round the bend ❤️😃😍😍
Yes!! This is exactly what I have been looking for. The SPF comment is such a good point, how do you re-apply sunscreen once you already have these products on? Thank you!!
In my day to day, i put on makeup when I’m going out, so I don’t usually have to reapply. If I applied makeup in the morning for some reason, and I need to reapply later, I wash my face with cleansing oil only and then reapply everything. I know it’s not ideal as a recommendation, but that’s the truth! My recommendation for reapplying is to use an SPF setting spray, SPF powder, or use a beauty blender and your spf and bounce it on. Then go back over with your blush. I hope that’s helpful!! Thanks for your comment. ❤️
I have a skincare video and my absolute favorites are either purito centella unscented: it has a slightly more moisturizing feeling, but works great on all skin types. (Purito linked here: amzn.to/3jDKyHB ) or the klairs soft airy UV essence which is even lighter in consistency (linked here: amzn.to/2F6pt9y ). Both of those formulas will have you loving applying sunscreen as a final step and they both work perfectly as a base under makeup or anything else. I hope this is helpful!
Would love to know your comparison between this and the ilia skin tint. I'm in the market for new daily tinted moisturizer, and I'm having trouble deciding! I think this one seems to have a more manageable consistency though
I love the ilia skin tint too. Pros: it has more coverage, more shades in the range, higher spf (although you should be wearing an spf underneath anyway) cons: the packaging is messy. The applicator is a dropper so it’s more finicky. I love both, you’re not going to go wrong with the formula either way, so go for what speaks to you in terms of coverage. Hope this is helpful, let me know what you go for!
@@commedecarson thank you for sharing! I ended up ordering the Saie tint - mainly for the price and packaging! I did some research, and the ingredients are actually really similar to the Kosas new skin tint. Might as well give it a try, right? Also, after watching a few more videos, it seems other people had the same problems with the dropper packaging - messy and causes you to lose product.
I noticed Lindsey Munette made a comparison, she found the Saie tint lighter and overall better formulated than the ilia - which she eventually found too heavy + it clung to dry patches. I hope to try the Saie tint soon one day!!
What sunscreen do you use underneath that works well with Saie tinted? Also, how does this compare with Ilia Super Serum? Great explanation of the product, thank you.
Hi LjMarie! Thanks for your comment! I use the Saie sunvisor SPF underneath all of the time. Everything I've layered with it has worked though. You can't go wrong. Here's my link to the saie Sunvisor, my favorite SPF right now because it's mineral and immediately blends into the skin with a nourishing, light serum texutre. (link here: bit.ly/3qcZlw2 ) I LOVE the Ilia serum skin tint, my biggest issue with it is the packaging, it's slightly finicky with the dropper bottle. However, I've been careful with my second bottle and have been OK so far. The other difference is that Ilia has slightly more coverage than Saie and a much larger shade range. Here are my links for both: Saie Slip Cover Tinted SPF (I'm shade three) bit.ly/3pkC7Ts Ilia Super Skin Serum Tint Ilia bit.ly/35t6Oic Sephora bit.ly/2OdFmQ6
I wasn't sure what shade to get sense they all say pink or peach and I'm more yellow I ordered 3 hope it works i remember trying a sample but forgot what shade I wanted to get..lol of course.
I would order based on skin depth (how light or dark you are) instead of undertones because it’s so neutral. I think it’ll end up working out! Also if you send a selfie to Saie’s DMs they’ll shade match you!! I hope this helps!
The official recommendation is 1/4 tsp for face, and 1/4 tsp for neck, ears, décolletage. While 1/4 tsp sounds like not much, if you actually measure it out, it’s quite a bit for just your face.
Hi! Thank you so much. You know, I’ve looked through Epicuren. My favorite products from them are: their aloe calming gel, filled with incredible ingredients for calming and healing the skin, I use it on my body and face (linked here amzn.to/3j8r8t9 ). And their body lotion, absorbs immediately and feels incredible on the skin (linked here bit.ly/2IGKSaX ).
Hi Carson! Just discovered your page! Love love love! How does this product compare to the oat milk foundation? I have very dry, sensitive, acne prone skin with fine lines. Thank you!
Hi Elizabeth! I’m so glad you’re here. Oat milk is extremely luscious and nourishing. It’s one of my all time favorite formulas. Saie isn’t nearly as thick and nourishing as oat. I actually think you’d like the beautycounter dew skin a lot more, she’s thicker and more dewy. Perfect for dry patches and nourishing the skin. Here’s the link for dew skin bit.ly/2WrqG2G . However ! You could love LOVE Saie if you layered it on top of your nourishing moisturizer and sunscreen (my favorite sunscreen for sensitive dry skin is the purito centella unscented bit.ly/2N2VvUu ). Saies formula is still dewy and plays well with other products and has fantastic coverage (slightly more coverage than beautycounter). I hope this is helpful. Let me know what you decide on!
Thank you Carson! I tried the slipcover and unfortunately had a reaction to it. I have very sensitive skin :( I will check out your other recommendations! Thank you for such a kind reply! Xx
@@elizabeththompson2183 Wow! I'm so surprised, your skin must really be sensitive. Please let me know what ingredient in the formula may have done it for you? I'm very interested and maybe I can call out that ingredient for future reviews. Let me know if you try BC dew skin or anything else. In the meantime, Oat foundation from Ere is incredible and I'm just glad they have your color!
Ilia tint has more coverage, is more dewy and heavier in texture and consistency. It’s another one of my absolute favorite formulas. The biggest downside of the ilia is the packaging, it’s not reliable and exploded on me, but again it’s one of the most beautiful formulas.
At first I thought the shade range was narrow, but when you mentioned the undertones were more neutral I got more excited about it 😍 looks so good on you!

They actually use non nano zinc I think so it has less of a white cast and is more sheer
