    Thank you for this. This is the second time this has happened to me. First time was within a year so they replaced it. Can't say I'm impressed that this keeps happening to a supposedly waterproof watch.

    First Versa face came off within a year or so, and was replaced with partial credit, now second one face fell off again little over 2 years. Not good. Will try gluing back on - thanks for sharing.

    Did you have problems charging it after it came unglued? Mine starts charging but as soon as I put it down it stops 🙁 I'm hoping gluing it shut will fix it...but if it doesn't...and then it's glued shut...

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No issues with charging at all. Perhaps you have water / condensation at the back of the watch where the terminals are based. You could try drying it out by leaving it near a radiator for some time.

    The link to in your description doesn’t seem to be working for me. I also wasn’t able to find the name brand or type of glue you used either. Do you remember what it is called?

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did notice that, it's a bit annoying. They keep changing the name/brand. Search it up on Amazon or eBay and look for a similar version. It just needs to be strong, water proof, and have that very fine needle nozzle.

  • @agnosticmoron6711
    @agnosticmoron6711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you remove the original seal before gluing, if it is still 90% attached underneath edge of the 'face'?

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a decision for yourself, it's all about being making it water tight. I did remove my original seal but then again most of my screen was off.

  • @mikeyc4525
    @mikeyc4525 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Oh BTW, I used construction strength Gorilla Glue, (because I already had it), a thin bead around the edges...worked just fine. Now I don't have to order "special glue" to fix it.

  • @PossumMedic
    @PossumMedic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why would anyone do a water test?
    You either did it well and it's fine or you messed it up and might as well wait for it to actually get wet instead of just ruining it

    • @Jaffabite

      Hi there and thanks for tuning in. The glue I link to keeps going out of stock. I would recommend searching around for watch repair glue and just ensure that it is waterproof.

    What kind of glue was used?

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a waterproof watch glue (it's like a rubbery silicon). Search Amazon or eBay for something suitable.

      @@Jaffabite What about super glue? Or would that be a bad idea? I've had my Versa 2 for 3 years and the face just came off. I googled it and had no idea this was so common. I guess I'm lucky it lasted this long compared to how soon it happened to most others I've seen comment.

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  ปีที่แล้ว

      The glue I linked to keeps going out of stock. I would suggest searching for Watch Repair Glue and just check that it is waterproof. Also check how it dispenses it as having a fine point makes it an easier job.

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Strap widths vary slightly depending on where you buy them from but it is around 22mm. The Versa straps fit the Versa 2 and vice "versa". 😁

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the glue is waterproof, it's like a rubbery glue once dry, so it all depends on how well you complete the repair. Mine is still holding up well in the water 👍

    Can I use super glue?

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I wouldn't suggest superglue. It needs to be a rubbery waterproof type of glue. Search for watch repair glue and check for which ones state water proof.

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your screen is faulty and cannot be repaired (and is out of warranty) then all I would suggest is looking for a screen or replacement watch on eBay.

    • @kevinm5898
      @kevinm5898 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if you already did it, but I left my seal attached. It was mostly still on, but I figured it can only help with the sealing process and making it as water proof as possible.

      I have the same issue.. Searching for a screen

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends where the problem is. If its to do with the watch motherboard then it won't make a difference. I would definitely check the connection from the watch to the screen as if this has come loose then that would stop it from working and would be an easy cheap fix. Good luck

    • @caseygarrett300
      @caseygarrett300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Woke up and my screen is hanging off and screen isn't showing anything only colour lines at bottom would changing screen solve this ?☺️

    • @Jaffabite
      @Jaffabite  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @casey garrett it depends if there is a fault and if so where abouts it is. If it's the connection lead or motherboard then replacing the screen will make no difference. However if the problem is with the screen then this will of course solve it. I would first check that the lead hasn't become loose at either end as this could cause that type of problem with the display. As best you can try making sure the connection is firmly in place at both ends and look at the screen while you do it as it may help diagnose where the problem is.

    I don't know why anyone buys from fitbit, my girlfriend has had two, first one had connection problems after 6 months and because she'd bought through ebay the warranty wasn't honored now the face has fell off a replacement just out of warranty. Chinese quality with a 1st World price tag!

    Sad you have to do this. But used super glue. Nothing special. 😊. Obviously a ploy for the adhesive to have an end life so most people will buy another one. Not..smh.
