Today I'm reacting to the first part of Tomorrow x Together's (투모로우바이투게더) second EP, The Dream Chapter: STAR! In this video, I react to a mixture of music videos, dance practices, and colour-coded lyrics videos from the first four songs of the album: New Rules, 9 and Three Quarters (Run Away), Roller Coaster and Poppin' Star. The "itchy" thing in "Roller coaster" is a matter of cultural adaptation.
It so happens that in Korea the feeling of shivering, or tingling, is often expressed as the feeling of itching.
if i remember correctly, roller coaster was the only song from all their discography that wasnt performed not even once! that was until their 2021 fanlive where we finally got the live stage and then big hit revealed the dance practice in august 2021 ^_^

I don’t know if somebody already explained this but the song’s name that matches the album title will have the mv of the storyline:
TDC: star / Nap of the star
TDC: magic / Magic Island
TDC: Eternity / Eternally
TCC: freeze / Frost
And the title track narrates the storyline, so the lyrics of Run Away tells what’s going to happen on Magic Island. Most of their songs has doble meaning. 1. A meaning you can relate to 2. Narrates the universe
This album is so good, I can’t wait for the reaction of part 2 ☺️☺️☺️

About poppin star:
You got it right about it being like pop rocks! Poppin star is about them singing about a Korean candy that is star shaped and just like pop rocks, it explodes in your mouth ^^

20:32 lol, welcome to TXT. You will see that's a common thing that never really goes away. The lyrics tend to either be dark or they reflect something really deep and meaningful, however only a few songs have a sound that reflect that darker nature, while most tend to sound more upbeat, happy, and carefree.
I really like that their music encourages you to look beyond the surface!! Looking forward to more 🙂
44:49 they only uploaded the choreo video after the first time they performed the song (on their second fanlive), so that's why the video was released in 2021
+++ the choreo is only 1 minute long because they perform the first part of the song seated
To add, Aug 22 is Moa's anniversary. Although they performed the song back in March last year they uploaded it for Moa's 2nd anniversary

they performed poppin star in the 2021 fanlive sitting down and only danced at the last chorus. maybe so they can breathe for a bit because the setlist was tiring. we were really shocked when they performed roller coaster and poppin star with choreo!! no one expected it since it was from magic era

TXT choreos are my favorite, they are so creative and synchronized. All the members dance so well that make those hard moves look like they are easy and they move so light or so powerful 👀👀❤

Run Away is part of the story line, they went to their magic island. Yeonjun’s thumb heals cause Beomgyu’s power is healing (he gave him the bandaid) and… get used to them setting stuff on fire honestly 😂😂😂😂

The poppin star performance was mostly them sitting in a classroom setting throwing paper planes at each other. They walked up to the stage when the bridge started and danced that choreography

Something I want you to think about when it comes to the lyric videos tough is that it's usually just a guessing game. The people who make the videos don't always know who sings what part and just put the idol over the voice they think fits the best. They don't actually know to a 100% who is actually singing since there is for example no mv or live stage. Also the lyrics in the lyric videos is also not always the best or correct so when you watch the lyric videos, take everything with a grain of salt and hopefully you can find a better source to find the lyrics in the future.
I second this one. I feel like it's not very convenient to watch lyric vids 'cause most of the time they mixed up members who sings the song and that kinda annoys me

Yeah I feel you there. Something I forgot to do was turn on the captions which often have corrections. Plus people have shared some accs that tend to have better translations! So I'll keep that in mind for the future 🙂
@@kirin.m.b. Especially with all the debates that happen because of it. Like I remember people genuinely getting upset at people correcting the person, disagreeing with the correction. Like for Frost in the chorus, there are a few videos that have Soobin down as the one singing when it's Kai, but people were literally debating, insisting that it was Soobin singing but it doesn't even sound like him.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Hueningkai, Taehyun and Yeonjun have very distinct voices, and Soobin and Beomgyu sound very different too unless they sing in their lower register (it gets a tiny bit iffy who is who)
As a pre-debut MOA I'm LOVING to follow your journey on becoming a MOA too!

Rollercoaster and Poppin were first performed at their 2021 fanlive shine x together. That's why they were pretty recent. Also love your reactions.
You saying they look tall and honestly I just see tiny Beomgyu here 😂😂😂 poppin’ star performance is really cute, they are sitting most of the performance playing with airplanes (they start to kinda fight but you only can see it on t:time)

Fun fact abt Rollercoaster: this was txt first contribution for writing the lyrics and their youngest member Hueningkai participated in the work (he was 17 at the time and made him one of the youngest to be credited in their album. Also one of the members of KOMCA (kr music copyright association))

@@laurenclaire not only that he have also produced a song "Dear Sputnik" on their latest release The Chaos Chapter: Freeze while Taehyun participated in the making of the melodies of the song. Aside from him, Beomgyu have also produced "Maze in the Mirror" from their album "The Dream Chapter: Eternity". While the others have participated on the lyrics and songwriting on their future albums since Magic album. I'm so excited for you to listen to them. As you may have seen on the guide you reacted, Hueningkai have played a lot of instruments as a kid since his dad is a musician and he have always been on the stage since then.

The Dream Chapter: Magic still connects to their story about these boys transitioning from childhood to boyhood. So of course there will be moments that they felt like their different and against the world as they accept their differences. And also yes! Their tracks are a progression, it tells what's happening as you go on each of the tracks. Each track may tell a different story but it's all interconnected as you go along. As you may have observed their logo changes every comeback and they have different interpretations too. Their logo for magic era symbolizes these outbursts and angst during growing up and all these indescribable feelings that we get as we transition into adulthood.

Youre not crazy! The female voice that is heard in many TXT songs like Run Away and Puma (which you will hear soon) is done by an artist named Adora. She used to produce songs for BigHit and would sing the demos for some TXT songs. She is the only background vocal that they have had as far as I know. I honestly had had the same question until Soobin and Beomgyu discussed her solo debut on VLive in November of last year and revealed her as owner of the background vocals!

Huening kai was credited for roller coaster & he was only 17 and become one of the youngest person to be credited on komca & also the first txt member to get a credit on a song.
I've seen lots of them explaining roller coaster and poppin star. I wanna add that roller coaster is about this crush you have on someone and that feeling is like being on a roller coaster (butterflies, nervousness etc.) and at the end the narrator is nit shy to confess or be around that person anymore. With poppin star, the fandom has an inside joke that it's about two boys having their first kiss but not telling anyone other than their friends. The song IS about first kiss though explaining how it feels like eating pop rocks.
Kai got his songwriting and composition credit on Rollercoaster!!
lol the fandom was waiting for the roller coaster dance practice forever!! the first time they ever performed roller coaster and poppin star was at their 2021 fanlive which was in march (fanlives are their debut anniversary celebrations like festa and muster for bts). it was the first time we learned that they gave these songs choreo too to it was super exciting. idk why they waited till months later to post the one dance practice lol but the choreo at least didn't exist for the song until early 2021 so still a big gap from their original release ^_^ also why poppin star isn't fully choreographed. the first chunk of the song is them just sitting and singing with visual shots and acting as opposed to choreo !

I really love your reaction also for your first reaction to TXT so i immediately subscribed you!!!! Hopefully you will react a lot to TXT from MVs, performance and even fan edits [recommending Bby Yeonbin, MOAMOL, TXT VID channels etc.]
Also don't forget to react what happened in 2019 ( they had a hiatus for a long time and comeback in MAGIC ERA so alot of fans leave the fandom but the ones who stayed are very precious to the Fandom! )

The reason rollercoaster was released on august 22nd was because it was gift to moas for our 2nd anniversary being named moas. Actually I think taehyun asked if moa wanted to see popping star or rollercoaster dance practice first but moas chose poppin star first hence it was released a bit earlier in March while rollercoaster in August. Also context these two songs were performed live for the first in their fanlive !! (fanlive is basically them performing and celebrating with moa on txt's debut anniversary so it's like bts festa!!). Poppin star choreography is short because they performed the first section of it live while sitting down on some tables and the outfits worn here are from the actual performance !! They shortened the song a bit and performed until the end the chorus and then cut towards the last pre-chorus which is where the dance starts!!
I'm so glad you noticed how hard their choreos/routines are right away because i always feel like they are very underappreciated in the dance category.

Every time I hear any of their old stuff I'm reminded just how much their music has changed over the years. It's a super cool evolution and I'm excited to see where they go next! Their choreo never disappoints either, and their storyline, while exceptionally mind-boggling, is so intriguing 💙 (sorry for the big weird words, I've been writing essays for the past 4 days and I'm still in English major mode lol)

yay i was so happy to see this pop up in my feed! tdc:m is honestly such a solid body of work from any kpop group, both thematically, conceptually, and in execution. txt continue the story they start in tdc:s here in such a beautiful and cohesive way, but all of it feels new. they do that with all of their albums, but tdc:m has a special place in my heart. several of my favorite txt songs are on this album, including poppin' star, cwjltma, and magic island. and you're right- it's insane how they offer choreography to every song, and none of it is lazy. all of their choreographies are complex and detailed, and they just happen to make it look easy. i love this format of you looking at lyric videos/mvs first, and then following up with the dance practices! i'd definitely check out your patreon if you decided to start uploading the txt content that gets blocked there! oh, and both the roller coaster and poppin' star dance practices were released in 2021 because they performed them for the first time at their 2021 fanlive shine x together. the poppin' star dance practice is so short because they were sitting and throwing paper airplanes at each other for most of the song, and only the last minute is choreographed. hope that clears that up for you! thanks so much for this reaction!! i look forward to the second part!
I will also warn that the lyric distribution videos are not always accurate unfortunately. Usually the songs that they perform for their comeback show will be accurate since it shows who is singing what in those performances when the songs first come out. This will usually be the title track as well as some other songs, in this case that would be Run Away, New Rules, and probably Angel or Devil. The rest are hit or miss as they are just guessing blindly, and usually they are pretty off, especially on these videos from their earlier albums.
They have that similar vibe with BTS past work because both deal with school, adolescence, youth and that same hatred of authorities (very valid tbh)

That track from the concept trailer is taken from their first track New Rules) Really like how you're thorough with their contents. Their channel also have a playlist for each album and all their contents especially their vlog series (Talk x Today) and their own variety show (To Do x TXT). Thanks for reacting while checking on their lyrics and interpretations. As a moa, it's satisfying that someone can not only see the music but also every aspect of their discography. ... I think you are thinking a little to hard about rollercoaster. It's literally about them riding a rollercoaster and being scared at first but then happy after their friend holds their hand 😭😭😭. Being itchy can be a sign of anxiety
