“i had no idea that you guys are the most successful kpop group that’s not part of the big 4 companies” EXACTLY MY ATEEZ IS UP THERE
so proud of my boys
What minute he said that??
16:20
About 16:22
They deserve better❤
Just a reminder that when Ateez debuted their company only had 10 employees and my boys worked their a$$ off to get where they are rn. Their success is solely based on talent and hard work. Nobody is doing it like my Ateez!!
@@cathyxx7395 your comments on every ateez video says otherwise lmao

They're really admirable!
HJs English is incredible. He’s been putting in work!🎉
On their #BreakTheWall concert here in Philippines exactly a week ago, I was surprised that almost the whole duration of the show, they did not have a translator. I swear I didn't expact that! They really tried to communicate with us in English! The translator came almost at the end of the show when they were all saying their goodbye speech. I was really proud of them!!
A 3 years old can speak better English than him. What a disgrace 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤣🤣🤣
@@TalesWithElle yeah, same. I went to Berlin show in February and the only time a translator was needed was when Jongho said a joke, the entire concert otherwise was in English. That's really impresive and admirable
Knowing Ateez's discography esp their new album series, we can all agree with Hongjoong when he said that they are the songs only Ateez could do!
I view their whole discography differently now because it's so true!
11:30 " how do you know when a song is done"
One of the greatest things about zach is hes not your casual interviewer, he's genuinely invested in the people he's interviewing ..you can see he takes his job very seriously... he does his research very well and asks the best questions there can be...
I love him and his show fr
I really like them as a group. They‘ve got good energy in their music and shows.
… it might be unpopular opinion but for me they’re one of the true kpop boy groups of the current generation.
ATEEZ are such good people. They are so talented, humble and kind. I look forward to spending the rest of my life as an Atiny
@@cathyxx7395 I pity you and people like you seriously .. get to ur self a job
not an atiny, but i am so consistently impressed with ateez’s fluency in english - especially hongjoong. his ability to not only understand complex english sentences but also respond so eloquently to each one is incredible! and even more than that, they’re all consistently improving in english as well even though they’re already really good. so glad to see them becoming so successful and so recognised 👏
Zach thank you for giving our boys more exposure on your platform and letting them share their journey with you. They've put in so much work and come so far. This makes me so happy
Nah this stupid host should invite the real successful outside big 4 like IVE and Gidle
Thank you for setting the standard for what a GREAT interview looks like! It was so refreshing to FINALLY hear someone ask intelligent questions and actually want to delve into their musical history, storyline and actually talk about them as a band, as people and as artists! Such an amazing interview!
appreciate you!
After finally getting the translations for the Korean answers. I got to say that I really liked Wooyoung’s answer to the question regarding their longevity toward the end. This is truly ATEEZ’s beginning and they can only go up from here and Im glad that the guys think the same way❤
People need to get rid of the idea that K-Pop is only about big companies. They feel bad because a group from a small company has been described as successful. ATEEZ is the most talented and different band in every way right now.
people know kpop isnt only about the big companys.
look at ateez, look at gidle, look at ive look at monsta x, look at mamamoo, look at dreamcatcher.
they are all very successful groups.
@@jasminebubbles33Since I wrote this, there is certainly a reason for my saying this and my observation.I don't know about your country, but unfortunately most K-Pop fans in my country have this mindset. You rarely find groups from small companies that are popular here (I don't mean to be insulting), but all the groups I mentioned are not popular in my country except ateez, while groups from big companies receive a lot of attention. Even before their debut.and the problem of comparing the achievements of teams of large and small companies and belittling their talent and style
@@jasminebubbles33 well im a casual kpop listener since 2009, its not a lie when group from big comp got attention even before they debut no matter they had a good song or not. the only time i know smaller group exist is when they had several song that i like, same goes to atz, i didn't know they exist until 2021, i found their song from random playlist on yt, months later i saw their immortal song performance, since then i paid attention to them. I even feel bad they have a lot of good song how come i didn't notice them earlier, that's when i understand big comp and good marketing play a big role to make a group more known
Ateez is actually similar to BTS -started from nothing but gradually became known .. hoping just like BTS, Ateez and more artists from smaller company will break the barrier of company privilege with their talent and passion in music industry (nowadays, international fans can really play a huge part of Kpop artists success)
Please, KQ team, listen to Seonghwa and let us have a "Wake up" rock version for next tour, I need it!
Also, I love how soft-spoken they're in these kind of interviews, especially Yunho, it's cute and funny at the same time listening to them talking so softly while knowing how much of a mess they're if left alone. 🤣
I wish more people would acknowledge that 4th gen kpop and onwards is a different beast than previous generations. Younger generations will always benefit from the hallyu wave that brought kpop to a global stage, but at the same time bigger companies have used their lion's share of the market to debut more and more groups and squeeze their competition out. There's more attention on kpop than ever but there's also more competition than ever, and Ateez have not only survived in such an oversaturated market, they have EXCELLED beyond anyone's expectations of them. On top of that, Ateez have genuinely pushed the boundaries of kpop performance, and never compromised their musical identity to accomplish all that they have. They should always be proud of how far they've come. Many have tried, but you can't erase their success.
SPEAK!!
LOUDER!
I am so proud of Hongjoong for trying hard to speak Enlish even thought they had a translator
I noticed how Zach Sang was surprised at the fact that ATEEZ has released so many bodies of work yet he never got to interview them until now
As the boys said, it's only just the beginning
And as we Atiny say, fuck RCA
Hopefully that contract is up soon bc they're actively harming and holding back Ateez in the states. Two sold out arena tours in a year in the US and not a word on any news sites, not even US buzzfeed interview, nothing.
Ateez don't have be the part of big 4 to be BIG. They proved themselves several times and they paved the way. I'm proud of my 4th gen best pirate kings🖤🏴☠️

Oh wow! I never noticed that before. Technically they started in a parking garage underground in the KQ Fellaz Pick It Up dance video then they graduated to a desert with Pirate King/Treasure haha.
Stupid host . He should invite IVE or Gidle instead
I thought Hongjoong would say Wake Up is his favorite because of his rap, but then he proceeded to praise his members' vocals... Oh Captain, Wake Up is my favorite because of the vocals and YOUR RAP. 😍
Hongjoong's English is brilliant actually how dare he be absolutely fluent like this 😭 even the way he constructs such complex sentences bro like we get it you're SMART smart
"only ateez can do this song" well said hongjoong 11:44
i really love how Captain tries his best and talk in english, he might be not that fluent but the improvement, the courage to speak a language that's so diff. from what he's born in and the the effort to speak more english... i'm really glad and proud of Captain and i really can consider him as the best leader ever 🧡
The backstory to HongJoong writing a letter to KQ and them finding it a year later is wow. I havent ever heard about how he became the first trainee. This was such a good interview.
"How do you know a song is done?"
"When we listen back to the full song and think 'only ATEEZ can do this song.'"
If that isn't the best way to describe an ATEEZ song, I don't know what is. ATEEZ has such a clear identity, they don't have to stick to a genre or concept, what makes an ATEEZ song is that it could only ever be an ATEEZ song.
Can we please show big appreciation to Hongjoong answering in English STRAIGHT and not even breaking into korean. Like that’s dedication. Some idols would just break (which is fine btw) cuz really learning a new language is hard plus the fact that it must be nerve wracking too to speak it on an interview.
Thank you for interviewing our boys!!! I had a really good time watching this.
Omg i love that ateez really worked from the bottom up. They literally started from scratch. In other interviews they mentioned they only had like 10 staff employees! Also, can we acknowledge that its really hard for an all korean speaking group to gain international attention like this? Most groups (BTS, Stray kids, txt, blackpink, seventeen, etc.) have at least 1 fluent english speaker who makes it relatively easy to grab international interviews.
Hongjoong is is fully born and raised in Korea took it on himself to become as fluent as possible, though I know he's mentioned being frustrated at not being better recently (he's at the point of fluency where you're very aware of what you don't know). It's good that he did though, back in 2019 on their first tour there were multiple interviews where they didn't provide a translator as promised so Hongjoong was on his own to help the others understand and answer too
Bts doesn't have any native speakers either, they learned it like ateez did so I dont get why they are being brought up here like they had aome kind of "English advantage"
@@sarahj.8440 not that I'm bashing those who are bilingual or anything. I listed BTS bc RM was already very proficient/fluent in English before they debuted
@@sarahj.8440 probably because he was fluent from such a young age, from non idol reasons, and he's fluent to the point where it sounds like hes a native speaker, which is that same advantage when dealing with interviews or pulling in international fans
@@phoebeahn8941it's bcz he has iq of 148 while he learn it while watching a English tv show named as friends , it's miracles that he sounds like native but he is not, infact he accepted that he had issues as well but he just somehow managed it,
It's his talent and not advantage that he somehow think of learning English while watching the show,
And another thing BTS are the reason that big4 even exist, they are from a bankrupt company who built hybe and made it to big4 after huge sabotage, disgusting media play & political connections of big3,
You are definitely 4 th gen stan otherwise you couldn't have say that
"we will continue doing our own thing and we will continue going our own way" THAT'S MY CAPTAIN
Hongjoong talking about the letter he wrote to kq, he have come so far
i don't go here but he 8:03 could read me the phonebook and i’d gladly listen to the entire thing
HAHA i love “i dont go here”
thats Seonghwa!!
That's our Seonghwa ,he actually has a few ASMR videos up called Mars asmr! you may like them if you heck them out!

Ateez should make a book or comic book on their storyline it's so interesting fr
19:07 Hongjoong really need to make a book of their storyline
So proud of Ateez! I feel so good to hear that Ateez is the most successful non big4 group! They are the proof that hardwork always pays off no matter which company you are from...
Since they touched on their storyline, here's the story so far as simply as I can put it, and corresponding songs (but not all just ones specific to that part of the story):
There are two universes, A verse and Z verse. Ateez as we know them are from A verse, which is our normal world. They have a lot going on in their everyday lives, stress, fights, moving, that is trying to tear the group apart (Inception, and explored in the Diary Film, Turbulence), when Hongjoong is visited by a man in a mask and a black hat, who gives him an hourglass called the Cromer, that allows them to travel dimensions. They use it to run to try and find a place that will let them just be together, like Pirates looking for treasure. (Pirate King, Treasure)
The man that gave Hongjoong the cromer was actually also Hongjoong, but from Z universe. We call that group of Ateez, usually seen with masks and hats with chains, Halateez, because the first time we saw them was in the song Hala Hala. Their world is called Strictland, a dystopian nightmare run by a tyrannical government, that has outlawed all human emotion and expression, under the belief that emotion is what causes wars and causes suffering, but acts to control the population. Those keeping people in line are giant androids all dressed in white (seen in Answer and Fireworks). Halateez are a resistance group known as the Black Pirates (Halazia).
Halateez are trying to get Ateez to help them (Say My Name, Answer), though Ateez aren't sure about trusting them at first. Ateez end up in Strictland (Fireworks) and after some mishaps with hallucinogenic smoke causing illusions (Illusion, Wave, Eternal Sunshine) end up hiding with the underground resistance, and get pulled into it once Halateez disappear, and work to help break the people out of the control. (Guerrilla) They do end up split up while under cover for a while, before taking the liberation movement to Prestige Academy to try and break more young people out of the control (Bouncy).
There's also heists but make it sexy after the cromer breaks at one point (Deja Vu, their Rhythm Ta cover stage), school rebellions (Thanxx, The Real), Yeosang gets captured and put in a big glass box till they break him out (Deja Vu, Say My Name, Wonderland, Answer stage from Kingdom), and there's a LOT more going on but that's and overview of it before it get's into details and speculations/theories. The way they use it in nearly every song and every stage performance is amazing, and so well thought out, especially how they use Halateez.
They’re the first group I’ve ever stanned before they even debuted, it’s amazing to see how far they’ve come since then 🥹❤
I hope to see a rock version of Wake Up in concert someday! That would be so insane! I'm really glad Wake Up got some long-deserved love today 💜

Hongjoong is good when he explains and when he does the interview. Huge respect
Also the fact how they so successful overseas without any foreign member and how members working hard to be spokeperson in english especially hongjoong and san is also very remarkable. Like now a days especially in big3 their carefully adding native english speaker member, it does help when they overseas and easier access when talk to interviewer or to fans.
i m so so so proud of each and every member especially our captain, joong, like you did really really well. how they kept the professionalism in this interview is truly remarkable for me coz god forbid, this interviewer just pissed me off at the time of butter release and now his attitude and persona is extremely rude to ateez. like dude, be attentive a little and i don't know, make them a little comfortable. and jeez thanks for stating some FACTS
My ateez, how can I not feel proud of them? They are my greatest pride and the best of my life ❤️🩹

Zach honestly has the most chilled out interviews and that atmosphere must put his guests at ease. Loved watching this.
thank you for interviewing our boys Ateez. they are so talented and passionate about music. and we really love all their musics and their down-to-earth personalities.
but other than that, i wanna point out some things (not decreasing my appreciation for Zach), here while interviewing Ateez, you looked a bit tired or sleepy idk. is it only me who feel that way? all i know of Zach was everytime you interviewed Kpop Group, you looked so hype and so smiley (example: last interview with The Boyz).
But thankfully our boys seems still enjoyed the interview and they seems happy too.
Hope its the same for you Zach.
But other than that, this was a great interview. ❤ thank you so much.
im looking for this comment
It seems like they did a number of interviews in one busy day, in that bigger rented space, I don't blame him for getting a bit worn down, it probably wasn't easy to balance the schedules either, like we know Ateez had already done 2 morning shows at least that day. And our boys are very chill and can put people in a very relaxed and comfortable mood
I was wondering why the interview was only 23 minutes as well, but as you pointed out if they did multiple interviews, plus the translations for him being cut out I imagine this interview was a lot longer as well too. I could see that being pretty wearing. I always love Zach's interviews - he has great conversations and brings up great topics. The boys got so excited when he brought up video games lol
This was a brilliant interview. Their English was amazing ❤ They are so dedicated and talented. I adore them. Zach always seems so chill and approachable that even foreign speakers feel at ease with him. And Kang Yeosang is fluent in English. I will not believe otherwise!! He just doesn’t say a lot in either language ❤❤😂
Thank you for having my ATEEZ on your show Zach. They really are extremely talented and quite unique within the Kpop industry. Their music, vocals and performances are unparalleled. This new boost of international popularity is long overdue and essentially driven organically by loyal ATINY. It is a grassroots effort using only ATINY love and support. Please listen to their full discography and not just the title tracks. I assure you there are some beautiful gems in the b-side tracks.
Thank you so much for having our boys and making them feel comfortable :)

Thank You soo much fir inviting ATEEZ
You didn't made them uncomfortable throughout interview
You know, I can’t believe BTS’s trash fandom on Twitter were offended over this part of the interview where it’s mentioned that ATEEZ are not from Big4 and are successful. 😂 Does it scare you all that out of all Korean male idol groups right now, ATEEZ is the one that has super high potential of becoming worldwide popular and famous. I can’t be the only one who, after discovering ATEEZ, has a gut distinct of them becoming insanely successful. They are genuine and actually organic, which is quite hard to say about any other idol group. These young men started from the bottom and rose to the top with their great stage presence, facial expressions, and performance skills. All their performances on Immortal Songs and MAMA is proof of their skill level and talent. And the concert clips that I see on Twitter show that they truly know how to deliver energy to the crowd.
watching this interview and seeing Ateez lands their 1st on billboard are so amazing
I've always loved how you handled interviewing kpop groups, ever since you first dove into it!
