Okay so first of all Rennas is literally one of my fav pizza places ever and as of June 2024 fye is closed. As of another thing that thing next to JCPenneys was a cheer leading gym. It’s most likely magic allstars since they’re based around this part of NY. This brings huge nostalgia to me and the rest of my family and it’s a huge part of me that’s basically gone😢
I can't believe Kay Jewelers is still at Olean Center. At other malls that have slightly better occupancy(but got to the point of being mostly dead, i.e. Golf Mill in Niles, IL, and Northfield Square in Kankakee area where the latter store relocated to a nearby strip mall), they pulled out of both malls a little while ago. I wonder if Kay and the arcade are just riding out whatever time they have left on their leases, then will close for good? I do see a parallel this mall has with the now closed Concord Mall, in Elkhart: the last place left to eat at is a mon and pop pizza place. Great video!
This mall has a special place for me for so many reasons over so many years. I am almost 48 and it opened just a few months after I was born. I watched Return of the Jedi there and afterwards ate at the Ponderosa Steak House. In 1992 I moved back to the area at 15 and this was where I would spend many Saturdays just walking back and forth, shopping at Chess King for the silkiest 90's shirts, eating at the MdDonalds, walking past Poor Cow Leather and looking for cassette singles at FYE music store. After a long time away I returned to the area in 2006 and since I wasn't quite 30 I shop at Rue 21. A trip to the mall wasn't compete without a slice or two from Renna's Pizza. I haven't been back in a long time and feel sad about how it is turning out, but I understand that is life. Thanks for posting.
What are your thoughts on Olean Center Mall, and what do you think it’s future holds?
I think it's sad future is pretty much sealed, but it is a great looking mall!

Nice looking mall, I’ve love the aesthetics! Great video.
Thanks! It's a nice mall. Sad to see it so dead.
I grew up near Olean. Rennas pizzeria is still my favorite.

Great video
Thanks Alex! Thank you for joining me here!
I miss the old styled communal benches around trees that malls used to have.

This should be a mall museum!
amazing video ! Keep the content coming !
Turn them into Condos for seniors.
Only about 2 minutes in, that mall looks like a mixture of really nice and also aged/warn out. Definitely dead, though.
