Gotta love it when the furry-in-denial insists that they are, in fact, not a furry yet define exactly what a furry is when trying to describe who/what they are. The irony truly writes itself.
I was at FC 2007 and was in the room when that was filmed. Never thought I’d unlock that memory again!
Its wild when you experience something like this and then come across it again in a video like this
Good god that brought me back that was Legit my first ever furry convention and got to see it live as well. God im old now haha.
Tbh I’ve never seen or heard about this music video at all, I’ve never heard of “Dead Bones”until you showed this to me. The art style and animation looks nice and aged well for the 2000s, now “this” beats “All The Single Furries” by miles. This actually is a classic. At times the song reminds me of “Numa Numa” or the song from Eiffel 65 “I’m Blu”. This truly is nostalgic and a piece of history Ash.
I've always thought of "The Furry Song" by Kurrel The Raven as the furry anthem. I like the 2009 version, but the first version of that song is apparently from 2001 (I didn't find the fandom until 2013). It's very cool to see another of these types of songs. I can relate the the fondness over the newgrounds days. I remember playing games on miniclip and armor games, watching animations on newgrounds, and going to odd websites my dad showed me. And playing a bunch of Worms 2.
Oh gosh yeah Kurrel the Raven's "The Furry Song" is absolutely still what i think of.
I found the feature in this video around the same time as Lennox's animation of "Hardware Store" by Weird Al
@@SnepperStepTV Oh god, the Hardware Store animation. I had forgotten about that.
Thank you for taking me back. My gosh... i heard this when i met my first furries IN REAL LIFE. I'd been a furry online since i was 11 or 12. I hadn't met another furry in real life until I was 19.
Thanks for bringing me back to the early 2000s
This is WILD because I only knew Zarla through their JTHM AU fics waaay back in the day. I had no idea they were behind the flash animation of this.
Thanks, I wondered about where the song came from since seeing Zarla's cover animation. I also liked her covers of Italobrothers's "Stamp On The Ground" and the Slalomicide theme. She (?) has a DeviantArt page, too.
Damn. I remember enjoying that one quite a lot! Super catchy and danceable. It's a shame that the creator seems to have a bit of a negative viewpoint of furry fandom. Granted of course it's not for everyone. I never really thought of it as an anthem but it completely makes sense. It was great to be reminded of it again!
I think contextually its important to remember that there was a very negative view on furries at that time which could be the reason behind not wanting to be seen as one.
@@AshCoyote true enough. Hell even in more recent times there are plenty of controversies to go around. The hardships of large fandoms.
Oh heck I haven't heard this in forever! But I better not admit to remembering anything...
I'm a lostwave fan and there's apparently a rumor going around that the song "Your Eyes (Come Back 2 Me)" was created by a furry but I have absolutely no idea how that rumor even started.
Remember Rockoons and the Seperate Ways animation? That's another big throw back from back then
I absolutely love that song, I've seen Zarla's work, I've seen the video, and it hasn't left my head in I can't remember how many years. It's silly and crazy and for whatever reason has stayed rent free in my mind since.
I had not forgoten ... man!! I am such a grey muzzle!!
👇if you are a grey muzzle too!
Hilariously, I found the animation, first. I loved it. I knew of a few of the references, FFIX, JTHM, SH, and it was the reason I even found out about the movie and watched it... Decent movie, BTW, so I'd watch it if you like B-horror movies. It still lives rent free in my mind to this day, so when I saw the image to this video I just was like "Okay... I have to watch your video." So, you got me!
I first heard this song in Barton Fox's Furpocalypse 2015 - Random Clips video where Maibu was playing it.
I HATED horror movies back in the day while simultaneously loving horror anime. So when 30 days of night came out with the first episode of blood+ you but your butt fluff I bought a copy. So it makes sense this was a doofy extra.
And now it's an ear worm... thanks, Ash, truly.
Woooooow!!!! I haven't thought of this in years! I recall seeing the original flash animation back in my Newgrounds days, too! Didn't know this became a furry anthem though. :3 (I was still very much in the closet at that point in time. X3)
Yeah it was popular for a little bit! It's funny how these things get around
and i still listen to this song and didn't even know that it was an anthem
WWOOW I never knew about this song or music video, when I saw the title of the video I thought you were going to talk about the Kurrel the raven furry song! Since it used to be so popular but died out quickly
Man I remember this. Tbf I wasn't around for the Newgrounds release of this and it was semi old news when I joined in. But I remember Kurrel the Raven/ Kwookie Womble (might be spelling either wrong it's been literally FOREVER)'s furry song both the 2007 I think and the 2009 version lol. Good times :3
First Pokemon now reanimator DAMN YOU FURRYS
So, I do want to say, before even watching the video... love the pink streak in your hair. ... not that I'm biased in any capacity towards pinkness. Don't recall hearing that song before though in 11 years of attending Confuzzled.
There is one song that, because of Confuzzled, has kind of become a furry anthem for me however: Nightwish, 'Over The Hills and Far Away'.
Hey thank you! Pink is my fav color X3. I need to give that nightwish song a listen
Heyyyy happy to see my favorite coyotw
Its like The Beast (a capitalist critique song) ended up in The Collector (horror movie), but I am glad I found Nico Vega thru it, long before the Bioshock Infinite trailer used it more aptly.
Pawsome!!!!! I like the song and saw the furry themed music video. Move Your Dead Bones by The Reanimator was an 1990s dance hit. LOL! :D =^.^=
Awesome video. I am still new to the fandom and have no idea this song existsed. Looks like a hilarious one to me. Love the video. Keep up the awesome job.
@@AshCoyote sure did. Had a huge laugh. Oh, tried to look for this video but it's not in anywhere. Can you link me to it?
Awesome video, great piece of nostalgia! Thanks for making this!
Wow I remember this song, I didn’t know there was a music video lol
Love it whenever there's a weird link between horror and furries.
Ooooh fuuuuuuck! Yesh, this and the Dance on the Ground video Zar did is absolutely burned into my head forever. 💚
0:30 - WHEN I WAS, A YOUNG... oh... whoops X'D
1:18 - Oh! I always just knew of this as 'Reanimator' - I think I only ever saw re-uploads because they didn't have this weird gravelly intro. I never knew it became this influential because I'm not that in touch with much of the local fandom (because they're based a little too far away for my travel range). My extent of interaction with the fandom at this time was exclusively small pockets of the Internet.
5:19 - I know a community hall in my area that uses these tables, they're quite solid despite how they look.
5:37 - YOU BROUGHT ME BACK FROM HEAVEN, YOU B*STARD!!! 🤣
9:22 - Having done a lot of research (namely checking all the actors, and the guy who made this song), this chiselled dude in the video is nobody related to the movie at all, and isn't the song's creator either. They just got some weirdly hot actor to dress up and dance.
Wow first time seeing you out of the suit... tbh ive only seen a few. But still now i know the face to the suit.
I woulda figured Kurrel the Raven's Furry Song was more of a Fandom Anthem ahahahahha
I thought whistle stop was the real furry anthem
That was fun and I get to add another song to my Halloween playlist
I found out about this song from Dead meat! haha I'm a big horror fan
"Totally *not* a Furry, it's just an anthropomorphised representation of myself and my personality that I find represents me in a more appropriate way.."
Great
pls reaction skibidi toilet
Omg! I can’t believe I forgot about this.. I now vividly remember it playing in furry malls in Second Life, how nostalgic
Yasssssssssss same
