Whats odd is back home in the Thumb of Michigan it was ok rut activity, but drive 9.5 hours south to IL and the bucks where in full blown rut frenzy. I dont know if doe density has alot to do with it. I almost had a 1 to 1 doe/buck ratio in IL where I hunted. Up home in MI its closer to 3 to 1 doe/buck. Also maybe density of mature deer vs immature. In IL I seen that the majority of my bucks where 2.5 years and older with some 5.5 and 6.5 year olds vs MI where 95% are yearlings
I hunt in Georgia where sometimes it will be 90 degrees during the time that is supposed to be the rut. You can imagine how little activity there is in 90 degree heat, and we still get it done here. Sit in one stand, or one state at bare minimum, and ride it out til they come out. I have killed deer in Kansas and Georgia.. sometimes it is not easy.
Where i hunt in Georgia it feels like your huntin in Cambodia it gets so hot
Va has been slow starting on the rut as well. Figured there would be alot of movement but barley any during daylight hours
That's a huge 8! I'd be losing my mind holding that rack. Btw I hunted Michigan for 3 years and nothing. The only state I've ever hunted and not be successful. I won't waste my time up there anymore.

How did u get sponsored by realtree I mean like what steps did u take. B/c I have lots of land and some nice bucks. I bought a good camera and my buddy for a camera guy. I guess what I am asking is how do I get sponsored like u, maybe not as big as realtree but how do I get sponsored?

Fight back. Don't surrender your firearms. An armed society is a polite society. Every gov would love nothing more than to disarm every citizen because once that happens, they have 100% control.
The day I am told to surrender my firearms is the day I become an outlaw I guess. You have the right to protect yourself. Have you ever thought of moving to the US? Don't believe what you see about us on the news. The media makes the US look horrible to the rest of the world and it's simply not true.
Very surprised Realtree would even post for this gentleman. He is in no way shape or form a true sportsman, he doesn't have that obsession in him.
They were rutting you just weren't seeing it cause some years all their business is at night under moon and stars.

+Austin Bradford To each his own. For us, the point of deer hunting is to actually hunt deer. We can sit in the woods any time. November is a time for killing deer.

criticizing your every move is common among bowhunters who know that your in the rut window and you need to make good decisions. If you know what your looking for and you don't see it you have to make the right move and some come to that by weighing the facts. Great hunt and I for one understand the frustration of this year's spotty rut!
It's called having fun in the outdoors, what's so great is that you see everything out there. You don't have to be acting so pissy and whining over everything that you can't get. Time and patience, including having faith. That's just me.

Hard to believe this guy has anything to do with Realtree, it doesn't add up. Doesn't seem to even understand deer hunting very well at all. It just doesn't make sense he would be part of them. I smell a rat, lol. I don't believe he is connected to the company...just a life long hunter listening to him talk...something is amiss.

why do people shake and speak rapidly like they were just in a car accident after they shoot a nice buck? I have shot many deer in Kansas, Georgia, Wisconsin. I have never got like that. Last year i shot a 140 in Kansas on private land and i just got out my tree and walked over, no big deal. I just love the outdoors and being in the hunt.
Because where I live a 140 is a giant. The time and money you put into killing a buck is insane when you think about it. When it finally adds up and you put a buck down I guess your nerves dont know how to respond appropriately. I can shoot a doe and start shaking like a leaf
