Denver Police Department will turn on that mayor once ICE rolls in to town. And that guy should have his house raided and then arrested if he attempts to deter immigration authorities from doing their job.
These blue governors, and mayors wont be in power long. The citizens will get sick of this soon enough. And sick of paying for it once our tax dollars stop going to these "cities".

We do need more Judges for claims, how difficult is it for a border agent to determine what country they are coming from to know if they are fleeing for their lives, economic claims are not acceptable asylum claims. My point is at the border agents can determine which migrants have legal asylum claims, those then get a court date the rest are denied entry into the country. It is a matter of allowing Border Patrol to do their jobs. Catch and release should illegal. As it stands approximately 99% of the 10-20 million who came through the southern border do NOT have valid asylum claims, they should NOT have been given a court date they should NOT have been set free into the interior of our country. This is criminal, period.
How much federal (taxpayer) $$$$$$$$ will be lost by these local politicians after the new administration steps in? Why else would they allow this to continue anywhere? -- Texas

Short answer: Absolutely. Trump already mentioned on the campaign trail they will withhold state funding from the federal government if they go against federal orders of national security / immigration controls. Since you are in Ireland you might not know US Citizens pay both a federal and state income tax. We also pay separate taxes on every paycheck for welfare recipients, not just social security.

The problem with that is most blue states add to the federal pot whereas red states take. If the feds withhold funding, the blue agates with their net positive would hurt the federal government's bottom line. So like tariffs and deportations, this will further add to the poor red states problems.
My personal hope is that the Trump administration is legally able to find a way to cut off federal funding for sanctuary cities and states Trump tried last time but it was overturned by the courts and it died before he had so many other issues to deal with
