I adore Auron's Katana, and you guys did an amazing job on it. Actually you did an amazing job on all of them. You got every detail, every color just right. It's nuts how perfect you made these weapon transition from polygons to kitchen utensils.
Personally, I think it should have been a Gilgamesh block, with the swords sheathed on his back (and hey, where was Excalibur?), but that's still a really cool build!

As someone who has studied Jewellery manufacture, I have to comment that the way the woman sawed out the Tsuba for Masamune in brass is not at all how you should treat a piercing saw blade.Putting WAY too much pressure on the blade. You should just guide it and let the saw blade do the work. The way it was done in the video is how you break a lot of saw blades. Also a cheaper way to place down images onto metal would be to use cheap nail polish remover, (from a pharmacist or something, just the cheapest you can buy) print off a monochromatic image in reverse, quite bold, place down onto metal, apply small amount of nail polish remover, then place a piece of paper over the top of that and rub gently over the entire image. It should print down a very bold line, if done correctly that won't come off unless you scrub. Very useful for engraving. Another Lubricant for saw blades is wax, or your own spit. (lick your finger and run it across the back of the saw blade. Works every time.)

this is some beautiful sword making. The details you put in it are amazing ! i would really like to see more of this combination of sword & shield and super fan builds for detailing . Just great :D
Awesome build. I can see how most of the swords would have a real knife counterpart: the buster is your large santoku chef knife, the katana would be a carving knife, the other katana could be like a boning knife, the only one I see being a problem is that awesome gun blade since the downward angle would make it difficult to chop or make easy cuts. Still freakin sweet
They definitely did a good job. I wonder why Ultros though... I mean, it's cool, but he's not exactly the one monster I'd attribute to Final Fantasy. Why not a moogle or chocobo? Or if it has to be an enemy, why not a Cactuar or a Behemoth?

Crisis Core was okay. I liked the gameplay, but Genesis was quite possibly the worst written villain out of the whole FFVII compilation and with as much of the plot revolving around him as it was, it really brought down something that could have been so much better. ALSO! I cannot forgive them for involving him in the Nibelheim incident.

This is one of the most traditional katana fan builds I've ever seen! She did falsely say that same is shark skin, but then she correctly used ray skin. I can't believe she made that tiny habaki. I thought brazing a habaki for my tanto was small work!
I seriously need to see a real Greatsword of Artorias from the game Dark Souls. It's a gorgeous sword. If you could ever make one... I would be one of the happiest people alive. I believe in you, you do AMAZING work!

It's more about knowing that you're the only one in the world to have this piece and not wanting to damage it, rather than using the knives for their intended purposes and risking damage. Who knows how valuable that thing would be if it went up on eBay. probably thousands of dollars

I've noticed you guys have a lot of artistic licensing to the patterns (stingray dots, rough contrast on the square of buster blade), but this is still pretty cool.
absolutely awsome my the only complaint i have is that Auron`s katana has the leafing on the blade and doesnt have that gold plate at the bottom of the blade however with them adding the plate with the leafing it matches the rest of the knives better as a cutlery set.
From a chef's pov, im very curious on how well they'd work in the kitchen, obviously i mean with household use, but considering Baltimore Knife and Co, and the fact that they are full one pieces knives ( unlike the cheap on with a very small tang that goes in the handle ) im assuming they must be very durable and of remarkable quality. From my nerd pov.... OMG they look awesome and i want them very badly!!! haha great build!
I'm no chef, but i guess you can already tell that with (maybe) the exception of Auron's katana, they would suck in terms of practicality... not becuz of the quality of their make (something tells me they might just be some of the best blade to be had in that sense), but becuz of handle designs & overall shape, which make shit unwieldy as practical tools...

I'd be terrified if somebody nominated me for something like this. There is no way I would be able to express the sheer level of euphoria and gratitude that would be required in response. I don't think I've been capable of those emotions since approximately the christmas of 1992.
I'd be afraid to use those knives for cooking. The thought of dulling them on a chopping board, or ruining the luster, or ruining the leather would make me reluctant. On the other hand, it must be a lot of fun to open envelopes!
Its really cool overall but there are a few things i wanted to point out. First, official in game art shows that the Buster Sword in this set is not clouds version but Zack's version since the quillon has that fancy detail work and is made from or covered in Bronze. Clouds only has a metal band with some round rivets running horizontally. (Nit-picking on my part). Second, Squall's Gunblade has a black or dark gray Grip panel and not a brown wood Grip Panel. Lastly, Auron's Katana tsuka (or handle) has a green and Red Tsuka ito (or handle wrap). Other than that they look really good. I'm jelly.
I see one glaring problem, the handle/tsuka wrap on the Masamune looks terrible, it should have been redone by an actual swordsmith with experience in wrapping Japanese swords/katanas, not to mention, it should have been scaled down to the size of the knife/sword using thinner pieces of silk (or whatever material she used) making the typical diamond pattern found on katanas smaller and tighter to match the scale of the piece... Other than that, this was an excellent build! I'm sure she's extremely happy with her new knife set!

I don't even play the game and I'm a bit jealous! Beautiful job!
Its really cool overall but there are a few things i wanted to point out. First, official in game art shows that the Buster Sword in this set is not clouds version but Zack's version since the quillon has that fancy detail work and is made from or covered in Bronze. Clouds only has a metal band with some round rivets running horizontally. (Nit-picking on my part). Second, Squall's Gunblade has a black or dark gray Grip panel and not a brown wood Grip Panel. Lastly, Auron's Katana tsuka (or handle) has a green and Red Tsuka ito (or handle wrap). Other than that they look really good. I'm jelly.
my wife walked down the aisle to First Love from FFVIII. Ignoring the lyrics, the music is beautiful.
I see one glaring problem, the handle/tsuka wrap on the Masamune looks terrible, it should have been redone by an actual swordsmith with experience in wrapping Japanese swords/katanas, not to mention, it should have been scaled down to the size of the knife/sword using thinner pieces of silk (or whatever material she used) making the typical diamond pattern found on katanas smaller and tighter to match the scale of the piece...
Other than that, this was an excellent build! I'm sure she's extremely happy with her new knife set!
