The fandom joke with Dami is that she has a demon that takes over when she steps onto stage, and there are clips out there where insomnia show the moment when that demon enter her body.

I’ve seen a few groups live in my relatively short time as a kpop fan, and Dreamcatcher is by far the best. Their talent and charisma on stage is crazy
Mamamoo overwhelmed me with talent, charisma, and unfiltered comedy like that in 2018-2019, then Dreamcatcher took over during Scream era and ever since.
I remember feeling this overwhelmed as well when I was first getting into Dreamcatcher :D . To me its interesting how when DC is on music shows or showcases they emphasize more the performance aspect of the songs. It almost feels like you are watching a play, but during their concerts they get more playful and engage more with the audience. Also, you nailed it with Gahyeon! She is all about those facial expressions!

siyeon is still moving at the end of shatter because she is supposed to represent medusa i think. her snake-like eye makeup and braids in the performance video hint at it! 😊
And also the only member with a cross on her outfit. They sort of trying to restrain her power
Yeah, they all freeze when she looks at them, she's definitely the Medusa in the ending scene.

"Bang it on me" is a bit jarring, but oh well. It is VillainS (villains or villaness?) after all.
Turning into stone for me means being immortalized. It has been a main goal of poets, Olympic athletes, and whatnot. This album is very classical mythology-influenced. I think the first for Dreamcatcher.

This just makes me think of the Venus, Nephthys line from the title track. Isis (whom Venus was assimilated with) and Nephthys are often depicted with wings or as birds, the kestrel (or rather hawk/vulture for Nephthys as the falcon is more associated with Ra?) or black kite. This was related to their role of transporting dead souls which they revived to Duat, the land of the dead, by carrying them into the sky. Venus too was associated with doves, sparrows, or the peacock.
"Bang it on me, shatter" just makes me think about certain gulls who drop stones from the air on shellfish to shatter them. Venus was born in a shell, after all. Although here it really seems to mean reviving someone turned to stone, no?
So Siyeon is Medusa at the end? That makes some sense to me. She's dressed like a Knight Templar, which I love. All this mention of Medusa just makes me look for Perseus though, and I thought that was what she was going for. If she turns to stone at the end that means the villain won, though.
The title track is more about Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection, thus all the selfies and craziness. How ironic to see all the people reacting for the first time to a song all about the danger of first impressions! "Rising" really makes me think of Daedalus and Icarus (who tried to fly to the sun but fell to their deaths), and I think it may be about vainglory, striving for something one cannot reach. That leaves "We Are Young". If the whole thing is a sort of four directions mandala that would be the opposite of Medusa's immortalization in stone, I don't know something Eleusinian, the shameless exploiting of youth?
Love everything Siyeon, but the skull pants on "OOTD" coming in like that? Perfect . . .
I'm looking forward to the reactions of the other albums. In my opinion, Dreamcatcher is one of the groups with the best discography. Definitely they are another level.

Dongie really ate this comback up! They all killed it but Dongie just really stands out to me with her vocals and how they utilized her!
Gahyeon ATE Shatter, I think she stands out the most to me in that song and honestly - you go girl!
Edit: They are AMAZING in concert, and I hope you guys are able to go to one next time they come back! Also, JiU is so good at emoting in their videos - you should really check out R.o.S.E Blue, it's a game collab video/song, but JiU especially acts her ass off in that video!

I saw them live for the first time in July 2022 and JiU was so thankful at the end of the show, waving and everything to insomnia, she started to cry bc she was so happy and thankful. And that's when I fell for her lol and she shot to the top of my bias list right next to Yoohyeon.

Shatter is just stunning. One of my favorite choreos of theirs.
As you note, they are the complete package when it comes to stage presence, choreo, visuals, vocals. But they also are hilarious on variety shows--or just hanging out. I'd say try a self-made MV to experience that (beyond what you glimpsed in the "this is" series). Since you've already reacted to Odd Eye, then try Poison Love, which is a b-side from that release that they made their own video for, and it's the goofiest, most charming thing ever.
also: if you want to experience how hard their choreo can go (as well as more amazing powerful vocals), Wind Blows, which is also from that same album is, imo, one of their most impressive choreos.
I second this. Their self-made videos are what finally turned me into an insomnia after listening to their title tracks for some time. There's Sahara and Break the Wall too, which are so much fun, and awesome songs as well

I was thinnking that maybe you could react to the DC member's solos. You know? in the Apocalypse: Save Us album, all the members wrote and co- composed their own solo song. I guess you would enjoy these, cause each song showcased their personalities since they created their songs based on their tastes and interests. Check them out.
Ah, and now you see why I consider them THE BEST live performers in Kpop. The only other group that I think dances as much as DC does and still sings live? GIdle and Itzy are about it. They are so, so good. InSomnia bought them microphones because we know they actually use them. And boy do they know how to play for the camera.

Yoo’s been flexing that well-earned main vocalist role (she started as lead vocalist but in their reality show a couple years ago was finally introduced as main vocalist, a role she shares with Siyeon) and OML Dongie and Gahyeon just keep leveling up Istg. Fun fact, those last two only trained 6 months before debuting with Dreamcatcher. Their growth over the years has been exponential!! And yes, all their live vocals can be heard even above backing tracks and Sua and Siyeon sometimes sound like they’re gonna blow up the whole sound system 😅😂

Also my point for the ending where Siyeon take times is that maybe at 14:28 Jiu is lifting Yooh, like you mentioned, maybe she’s passing her the power then again like you pointed out yooh is like mirroring w Siyeon and @ the bridge we clearly guess that Siyeon is probably in charge of being the “host”. And at the end she’s pointed out them while delivering her last word. She might not be stone that’s why she’s posing. Idk that’s my theory. I've been watching your DC reactions and I like how you're Benjamin Button-ing you're way through their discography, working your way backwards. lol When you go back to their very humble beginnings you'll truly appreciate their hardwork and perseverance.
