    I love your videos bro. Very inspiring. I started my blackout on my lower left arm, not because I disliked my tattoos but they reminded me of my younger self and how much I have grown since then, so it was like starting fresh to me. Keep up the great content and I wish you and your family well!

    Always glad to see more videos from you Remy. Life has been rough for me as of late, but I get a lot of enjoyment from your videos. Something about your voice and presence is calming for me. Always enjoy hearing more about your blackout story as well. Still debating on taking the plunge and blacking out as well. People say I'm crazy to even think about covering the artwork I have now because "It's so well done". Perhaps well done for tattoos in the deep south. Anyways, I hope you and your family are doing well man. Take care and keep up the amazing content

      Honored to read that man; I’m glad to be of some help to you in any way I can be through these videos. I know exactly how you feel there man; people still wonder how I could possibly have started my own blackout work even after I’ve gone to extremes to explain it. It’s something you’ll only ever understand once your ready, or perhaps if you’re ever ready. Best wishes, and thanks for watching.

    Wow, I've used the same terminology. I do 6-day running (and walking) races where I'll do 200, 300, or 300+ miles during that time. And then there is my tattoo passion. People often ask if I like or am addicted to pain because there is a lot in my hobbies. I had thought about it this for a while and started to wonder if I am addicted to pain. Then I came up with the realization that I am addicted to "overcoming". I was very pleased to hear you use that same philosophy and terminology because many do not understand.

      I think you only “know if you know” sort of thing; as I’ve heard people say the same about extreme weight lifting as well, there’s something in the struggle that I don’t know if I want to live without. Thanks for watching

    Thx for sharing your experience and explain what is behind your blackwork. I really do love to watch video about bod mod and extrem tattoo where people explain what is behind and thier philosopy and give you a sight of what is behind. You might already know it but I watch a lot of video of Lily Lu youtube channel. There is video where is talking about his old life as tattoo artist, bod mods, ritual, extrem tattoo, ... I found it really intersting and helped me to learn a lot of what is behind all of that

    Another great video Remy, very informative and also very personal which is refreshing. Your tattoos are amazing, the black on black works really well and vey effective I have two questions......any plans for adding to your face tattoos and will your journey ever end or will it remain a work in progress? Thanks for sharing

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know that it will ever end necessarily, but I do think it will slow gradually. (it’s already slowed down a bit) as far as my face goes, I’ve given thought to bringing the filigree up further around my ears and blacking out the flower and dagger to combine the whole thing to my head, but no farther into the face itself. Thanks for watching!

    Remy. Thank you for guinea pigging yourself for the sake of tattoo science. I've enjoyed watching the progress and seeing where you take things.. and to the point of overcoming and life experiences and detachment from items qnd the restlessness.. I can relate in the sense that life has not been kind to me and at times I in the past have felt like death and bad luck follows me. People die, go to prison, commit suicide, get addicted around me. I felt a lot of survivors guilt because no matter what, others suffered or died, but not me despite me doing the same shit that seemed to destroy everyone around me. But enough about misfortune. Only throw that in there to say I understand and I want to share my reasons for my tattoo journey for anyone who cares to read... first and foremost. From the day you are born, until the day you take your last breath , you only experience yourself.. fortunes come, qnd fortunes go,other humans come and go. but unless your skin is entirely removed it will cling to you until you rot. Tattoos will never leave, and they only die after you die. There is also a need for me to have them because they are sort of an armor for me. My life experiences have left me on constant edge. Seeing danger everywhere and feeling like I must protect myself. Tattoos send a message, especially extensive work. I CAN WITHSTAND A PROLONGED PERIOD OF PAIN AND COME BACK FOR MORE. It feels like extra insurance against being another mark. It negates the need for violent encounters. Even with my past there is only so much I am willing to lose over some stupid altercation so avoiding it altogether feels like the best option.Other reasons worth mentioning are how I feel a sort of connection to the primitive via the practice of inserting ink into my skin. An appreciation for the cultures that came before. I also have been building my portfolio and tattooing myself (although I will conveniently neglect to mention that when I go in for an apprenticeship). I hope to someday dedicate a good portion of my life to this artform. Hopefully break new ground somehow. Maybe discover a new style, but for now, I will just aim to get my foot in the door first, and worry about trying to be a game changer when I am actually in the industry and have experience.

    I’ve got a black out half sleeve. Was wondering are you concerned with any health risks with this amount of ink in your entire body? I wonder if at any point your kidneys may try filtering this out and have I’ll effects.

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not worried about it at all honestly; many things can kill you in life, but there has been no link between tattooing and liver failure. If in some event it did happen to me at least I’d have died doing what I loved. There are also many individuals out there who have previously gone far than I have into tattooing as well

      @@EphemeralRemy for sure. So I have only done one session on my half black sleeve and there are some “low spots” where the skin is showing. Do you recommend a full reshading or can you get away with just sorta reworking those low spots? Thanks for replying

      @EphemeralRemy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’ll want to do some blending, but if done by the same artist it should be fine to not redo the entire half sleeve; there will be some differences in the black tones if you don’t blend the area out

    Hello, can you help me?
    So I'm between (168-173lbs bodyweight) and my height is 5"8.
    My body isn't really fat to were my body looks out of shape, you can see the muscle indention there but I just have a little high body fat. So my abs and vascularity is a little bit covered.
    What I want is not to lose lbs because I wanna weight 200lbs eventually. But at the weight I am currently I wanna look leaner. And have more detail in my muscles and have my bicep vein to show. But again I "DON'T" wanna diet and go from 170lbs-150lbs.
    I either would like to stay between the weight I am or go up a little but over all a leaner appearance. I don't wanna look fat and bloated.
    Here is my workout schedule list:
    Arms BFR (blood flow restriction)-barbell curl, brachialis curl, alternative curls,tricep extensions, twist curls, concentration curls, triceps dips, bent over rows, tricep press
    Chest & HEAVY Arms- barbel curl, alternative curls, bench press, flys, alternative fly press, bent over dips, decline floor press
    Back & Traps-upright rows, armpit rows,barbell rows, bent over rows, dips, bent over back flys, db trap lifts
    Shoulders- shoulder press, front delt lift, side delt lift, kneeling rows, double press, upright row
    Here's the thing, when I lift I usually stick with high reps going 10-15 reps with 3 sets.
    The weight I use is:
    10lbsx2,
    15lbsx2, 20lbsx2, 40lbsx2,
    45lbsx2, 50lbs, dumbbells
    About 200lbs of cement & steel plates 1"inch in whole with and a 11lbs bar that can little weight nothing over 200+ and I bench press that till I'm tired so maybe 4x.
    That's all I have to work with so I'm very limited on heavy compound exercises
    My overall goal is to have a nice easthetic look that shows good detail and development in my arms without going into a crazy diet.
    My workouts are between an hour or an hour in a half long and I always chug down a gallon of water inbetween that time.
    I also wrap my stomach in 8 layers of plastic and wear a sweatvest to sweat the water out going along the workout.
    Thoughts? will this do anything? Will I see progress? My nutrition is...I eat below my maintenance weight so I eat 1 or 2 small meals a day. What should I do I wanna look good for hot boy summer?
