    Great stuff! So much other content seems to focus on card choice, so I’m really pleased to see more attention given to miniatures and movement. Can’t go wrong with more like this!

      Admitting you are making mistakes with movement and decision making is a tough barrier to get through, but it will help you become a much better player in the long term. Deckbuilding is a lot more fun as well :P

    Now we need part 2, so you can explain how to play vs hold objectives warbands

    • @nachomancera5526
      @nachomancera5526 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This! As a Keinan player myself I've got the most trouble against longboards hold objective warbands. They usually have all the tricks to keep you away and jump onto objectives, you can't outscore them with passive glory by the time you reach them in late 2nd round they've already buffed up enough to kill whoever gets to them first

    • @blacksabbath9631
      @blacksabbath9631 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Three pushes and two plus +1 move to (almost) everyone persisting ploys? This pack works fine for me against HO.

    • @nachomancera5526
      @nachomancera5526 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blacksabbath9631 Moving 4 with the morteks won't help you get many charges with supports in round 1, so you'll use that move 4 just to get closer (if lucky and against 6+ fighter warbands you'll get a charge off Nohem or Khenta if you're willing to risk him). Then you need to have the other global +1 movement in round 2, again (which happens, of course) but it is still an awkward scenario if the other player is scurrying around trying to deny your charges. The issue may be that I only have 1 push (the in faction) and no speed cards though, and of course that I play them quite aggro and the lack of attacks and kills really slows me down. I'll have to try a more flex approach as suggested here

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It can be tough, that's for sure but you typically need to play aggro with holding objectives as you go in. I tend to place aggressive objectives (See objective video, specifically deploying vs aggro warbands) to force them into the centre. You shouldn't have much of a problem winning the fights vs Hold, just closing the distance in round 1 (Hitting one of the 2 move ploys will help a ton with this). One advantage is that with your supports, your attacks become pretty reliable, so removing them from objectives isn't the difficult part, it's just making the distance.
      Maybe I need to do a Part 2 on this :P

    • @blacksabbath9631
      @blacksabbath9631 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nachomancera5526 well, again, I just run a lot of pushes and it allows me to be very aggressive with my surge pack. Even use Perfect Strike because of it (lol)

    Hey buddy, great stuff you got there. Always pleasure to see what you prepare for us. I'm rather new to game and like models and specialities of Starblood Stalkers but seems kinda hard to master and optimize all of their hidden gems so I would like to hear your thoughts on them.
    Cheers and keep it up ❤️

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! If you love the Starblood Stalkers, go for it. You might not instantly understand all the little strategy but that's something you will learn the more games you play. I'd argue a lot of the newer warbands take a bit of time to understand anyway, and it's always better to choose a warband you love the look/models/playstyle of over an easier warband. Starblood are a great warband as well, when you've picked up on all the small rules, you'll get some great results with them!

    Nice to see these videos! I would love to see a "masterclass" on The Crimson court. And also on hunger tokens in general. I'm quite new to the game and can't see whether you want them on your characters or not. Quite a few of the general cards give a hunger token to a fighter but is that a punishment or something good?
    This channel is a bewdy!
    Cheers from Sweden!

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a ton! Hunger tokens are neither a good thing or a bad thing, they're just a thing. If you're playing Crimson Court and you load your deck with objectives related to hunger tokens, then they support you in your attempt to win the game and in that case they're a good thing.

    Did you see the news for the new season of underworlds? The first warband for the starter kit is kruelboyz and I am HYPE, also the model looks awesome and they seem to be an objective grabbing warband, keen to play them as NOT that

      It's good to confirm there will be a Season 5 as well! Hopefully there is some focus on non aggro warbands too, with Beastgrave leaving, a lot of great Hold X cards will rotate out.

  • @brydee301

    Really enjoyed this. These are my favourite warband of the season and I've been doing ok with them. I'm defo gonna give your deck a spin as I do struggle sometimes for passive glory which can cost me a game.
    How would you play this deck against an objective warband? Who are you charging with first? And are you still being in just one support?

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on if you get 3 objectives or board placement. In board placement my first turn is about 1: stopping them from scoring big in the end phase and 2: Setting up for turn 2. The charges are less important than getting everyone forward, although if Kainan can get a scything attack in, that would be great (but I'd activate him later so he doesn't get crushed turn 1). Turn 2 is your turn, mortek should be in range, Kainan too. You should be killing off 2-3 fighters this turn on average, and shutting down their attempts at end phase scoring. By turn 3 you can focus less on letting them score as it's difficult to get dominant position with 2 fighters unless you fall asleep :P.
      Against offset boards I try and hold my 3 and pressure the 4th objective. Try and poke them off it with nohem later in the activations, or get Kainin close enough to make them not want to take it. Keep the Mortek in range of each other so they don't get picked off without a countercharge blowing up the poor enemy that did it. This is warband dependant, the less mobile they are, the more you can just throw your fighters foward into the fray. Zarbags is all about taking out their key targets asap (Fanatic and squigs), whereas ghouls and lizards is about making sure they don't suddenly take the objectives on your board.
      Remember you might want to play aggro, but the key is stopping them from scoring and scoring yourself. Hit the guys on objectives, get on them yourself if you can. Objective is the hard matchup, but pressure forwards if they have safe objectives, and focus on stopping a big end phase score from them.

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I play Kainan I struggle vs Vamps-hunger build, since they sit back and I cannot really engage r1, score quite a bit of points and once bloodthirsty the Lady with scything can blend my Morteks. Commanding Stride can help me r1 but if don't draw it I am kinda starting from a loosing point IMO. Any suggestions or tip?

    • @blacksabbath9631
      @blacksabbath9631 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use three pushes (any) and two +1 move to everyone persisting ploys. Should really help, imo. (Also, discard power hand before first round if don’t see any of those in your first hand).

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Play the matchup slow. You're playing commanding stride so your deck is different to mine, but there should be some passive glory in there. Spend the first round scoring whatever you can and moving up your army up and in a ball. You aren't going to make reliable attacks round 1, so don't try and throw a few pieces down to the back of their board as they will miss and die in the counter, instead move up, sit on objectives in their territory (which you place during setup) and setup for a great round 2. The key with hunger decks is that they score big at the end of the game, your gameplan is to deny that.
      Your round 1 glory is to get some upgrades to make your attacks connect. Without supports, your attacks without upgrades are not reliable enough, so take things slow and pick them apart in round 2 and 3.

    Great video! I really would like to see your opinion on the old warbands. How would it be possible to make them work versus new warbands?

    • @TabletopSydney
      @TabletopSydney  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a tricky question! Some warbands are simply outclassed by the new ones (Steelhearts, Old Orcs, Chosen Axes) but a few have some potential (eg: Skaven). I'll keep the suggestion in mind, Thanks!
