Steffi looked very good in this match. I wonder why that form didn't last because she didn't look nearly as good at the Olympics and she looked even worse at the U.S Open. And while she did win four indoor tournaments after the U.S Open, many of those victories were by the skin of her teeth and were fairly unconvincing IMO.
When Steffi lost at the Olympics, she told the German press that she was "mentally tired". I think throughout 1991 and 1992 she really struggled for motivation at times and often looked like she didn't really want to be there. Most probably a kind of burn out.
