Her relationship with Henry was the best in the series. Even if it was short, you could see how much they loved each other and how amazing they were with each other. Sucks that he wasn’t brought back :(
I thought we gonna get to see Henry again in this episode. Remember Henry, her tumor patient husband that she fell in love with and no one ever mentions it?
Teddy's story is so heartbreaking. Teddy lost both her parents and Allison the same year. Poor girl. I think she was looking for something to make her feel alive. Allison did that for Teddy. If Allison was a man people wouldn't care about this pairing
No the problem with Teddy and Allison is it came literally out of no where. And it ruined one of the best love stories/families in the series, like really you named your daughter with Owen after an ex he thought was just a good friend for over 20 years. Teddy and Owen had the kind of relationship that she could of told him but the writers just wanted to ruin everything out of the blue.
@@chloewu2760 yes Owen told Christina about her even but Owen was always told they were just good friends. Teddy said she wore the bird scrub cap because of Allison but she NEVER said Allison was more than a friend. Thats what is frustrating and truly out of no where. I always liked Teddy remembering her friend in such a sweet way, it feels ruined by the writers rewriting that history and cheapens the moment Owen and Teddy said their daughters name at her birth.
So much sympathy is given this white woman just because she's a white woman who feels bad, like gross. She did so much terrible things and to make it worse, her writing has never truly been interesting or consistent.
Not really. She disassociated calling Allison more to protect herself. That was the whole point of her story. She loved Allison, and when she died she ran away and closed off to survive. Henry was the first time she thought she could really be happy, and she lost him and ran again. It doesn't make it cheap, it makes it real that the way she copes is to not address it. @@jackintheville
So happy that they finally developed her character more! She’s always been a favourite of mine since season 6, and the fact that she’s compiled her PTSD from losing her parents, Allison, Megan (for 10 years), and Henry is heartbreaking. I don’t think this is a redemption arc though, as it implies that her character should be “redeemed”. People are quick to judge with her character, and all along we never even knew her full story.
My mom was in shock and grief when my grandmother died, no one had pushed her to go through the belongings because she kept refusing out of shock and grief. I wish we had an Allison to take charge because to this day my mom regrets not being able to go through items, everything from the house was thrown away. Makes me heart ache to remember.
The part where Teddy's father tells her,in his own way, about the heartbreak that comes from losing a pet/ a true loved one struck me because I lost two of my beloved lovebirds of four years last year and so far, I haven't really been able to condition their loss or able to cry much since they came at a point in my life when I had no 'human' support to vouch for. They were the first of God's speechless creatures I ever had, basically Teddy's relaying of her pain is a metaphor and symbol of how hard it is to grieve and grapple with loss. I absolutely agree with the words used. That's why GREY'S ANATOMY continues to be such an emotional experience, fifteen years down the line, for all of us.
This made me hate her more, I don't understand. Came into Season 16 trying to find the Karev episode and I find these episodes confirming her to be a serial cheater. She's just awful and I'll probably remain repulsed by her character. There needs to be more focus on Ellen Pompeo.
@@artemisc749 - Yes, and not having processed or accepted any of it completely yet.. I mean, she still thinks Allie's death is her fault. That cannot be healthy.

It was OK, why couldn't they tell her story, everybody else had their time of the show telling their life story and the reason some are the way they are now, she deserves her air time I was also getting sick of them showing Meredith on the beach but I did love seeing Lexie and Sloan together again in their after life. You can tell this show coming to am end and the COVID didn't help it, as long they keep station 19 going
It's not re-writing. It's pretty good (IMO) backwards storytelling. Allison was the first love she ever had and she lost in a very traumatic way, and she closed off and ran. She met Owen, and felt a spark but didn't pursue cause he was engaged at the time (and she was probs still healing). Henry was the first time she opened up since Allison, first time she thought she can really be happy, and she lost him and left and closed off again. The thing with Owen is that he was always there for her, for the first and second time she lost someone and truly loved her the entire time. As Amelia said, the timing was never right with them until it was but she coped with her trauma differently than most and it ate away at her. She never fully confronted her pain, but now she finally did, she can move forward.
all of sudden, they relieved her a couple of season when they went to the conference where teddy meet Allison fiancé. Plus she named her daughter after her. That’s why Owen was mad
teddy always had a best friend named allison, we knew about her from early on when teddy first showed up but the backstory was revealed last season in 16x19
They actually talked about allison when teddy first came on the show, which is why she would wear that bird cap because it was in reference of Allison. The viewers just never paid attention to when teddy first came on the show.
