    I cannot wait to see how you piece your quilt blocks together. As someone who often sews with my handwoven fabric I think cutting and piecing small seams might be challenging, especially where the seams meet. What a lucky girl your daughter is. The colors and weave structures are beautiful. Looking forward to seeing progress on this project.

      The project is a little on hold at the moment as I'm working on 2 classes but I look forward to getting back to it 😊

    This is awesome! I love hearing about your thought process with this project and how you execute your ideas. It’s basically how I work most times too. However, I tend to get caught up in the details and I have a hard time forging on. I tend to overthink everything, but I do end up getting the job done eventually. I can’t wait to see how this ends up. Thank you for sharing!

    21:47 there's two ways that I save labels. 1. Stick the label in the middle of the spool. 2. Attach the label to a page in my design notebook, along with about 30cm or 12" of yarn wound into a small flat ball.
    (I usually do method one until I get around to method two.)💖🌞🌵😷

    I love your videos! I found it very interesting to see the difference in your fabric depending on your tie-up and the weft. Looking forward to your blocks! Honestly, I don't think I've ever cut my weaving... the idea is so scary to me. Good luck!

      I was scared the first time too! But I learned to look ahead to where the cut was going to be and I machine sewed the weaving on either side of where I wanted to cut. It really works beautifully!
      I always machine sew the ends of my weaving now, whether I leave fringe or not. It gives me peace of mind.

      It's really not as scary as you think, the first time feels a bit hairy but after that it's not much different to cutting commercial fabric 😊

    I made a quilt with ONE handwoven quilt block...it was kinda hard to incorporate and didn't look quite as good on the quilt as it did as just a stand alone fabric. A fabric that came out really well but did not call me to use it in any specific way. It was going to be a table runner but it was just too fine a fabric for that application.
    I was happy to incorporate it in my first full size quilt though, so in the end it was a good experience.

    Kelly I love your videos, even when it's something above my head! Off-subject...I have a rigid heddle loom and am just starting out. While weaving, I am getting a "ridge" on one side (left) of my project, along the warp, just one space in. I'm also having trouble with a "frown" in the last 1/2 inch or so, on the right side. ?? What am I doing to cause these?

    • @KellyCasanova
      @KellyCasanova  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you tried threading your edge warp threads in a hole on both sides? I have a video on how to do that here - th-cam.com/video/7oqxiPZ3ul8/w-d-xo.html
      The frown could also be a result of tension being inconsistent, especially at the edges. If this is the case, you can use weights or targeted wedging to firm up the areas that need more tension.
      It could also be the result of an uneven beat, so pay attention to how you're beating (most of us are more heavy handed on our dominant side without realising it). Stand back from your weaving every couple of inches to check your beat is straight, if it starts to go a little one sided you can correct it if you catch it in time.

    • @OriginalLacytoo
      @OriginalLacytoo 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for your help! I will look at the things mentioned. I have tried being more conscious in my action when beating and will check out the video. Again, thanks!!

    How do I roll the fabric towards myself? I have to make a loom from a open end frame and wanted to attach a dowel at both ends by an L bracket so I can extend to make a scarve. Where did you get your look that is in the frame?
