Never thought it could be so easy to make after avoiding it for years, hahaha, now i am in the process of making a block to see if it works, thank you Leah!
I truly love all of your videos! I watch a LOT of your vids and Rob Appeal from man sewing because you both CONSISTENTLY explain why you do things the way you do, and offer alternatives. I guess I don't care as much for "do this then this followed by this" and I don't know why I had to do that! Thank you so much for all you do for us newbies and keep up the great work. Your projects, your work, and You are absolutely beautiful.
Thank you Edward! I really appreciate your kind compliments! I try hard to explain how and why because sometimes I take extra steps that others wouldn't and that can be confusing. I'm so glad I'm hitting the mark for you!

HI Leah, I am a beginner quilt and I finished my first queen size for a friend after washing it came out puffy and stretched in places that it wasn't before. Do you have ant ideas as to why this is. Thanks.
It might be that there wasn't enough quilting over the surface...that would be my best guess. The quilting stitches hold the layers of the quilt together securely and make the quilt wear better over time. If it's not quilted enough, the layers can shift against one another causing issues like you described. How much quilting did you do to hold the layers together?
Hi Leah, thanks for getting back to me. I pieced it with the Ohio stars with a two and four inch boarder. I quilted it in the ditch of the stars and the boarder. The center of the stars four inches were puffy and the boarder were also, and I forgot to mention that my binding was rippled. Thanks for you expertise on so many matters and I very much enjoy you video.
Hmm...that's worth a try, but I doubt you'd be able to control it enough to keep it from making a mess on the whole block. That's just my opinion though and I'm not a big fan of adhesive spray.
I found tips in different sizes at pileofabric.com/products/glue-tips They screw right onto Elmers school glue bottles ( I believe up to the 7 oz bottle)

Awesome! I'm so happy to help you with quilting!
Learned some great tips! I have never uses glue before. Great video! Thanks again!!!
Excellent! Glue is awesome and it's such a great way to stick fabrics together temporarily.
Great way to do the Dresden Plate, going to give it a try for sure, it could make good placemats or table runners!
It's a very versatile block!
love any Dresdan plate patterns and this one is especially cute. might have to try this one
Awesome! I'd love for you to join in the fun!

Hi Leah - what stitch length is your machine set on for sewing the petals?
I usually have my machine set to 1.5 mm. Unless I mention doing something different, that's the stitch length I'm using.
For your top stitching, are you using aurifill or isacord?
I use either thread for top stitching. For this block I believe I had Isacord already in the machine so that's what I used.
thanks. wasn't sure if I should buy matching thread in both or just one.

What brand/type of straight pins did you pin the center of the Dresden plate with?
I believe these were Clover patchwork pins.
Instead of glue can i use the adhesive spray?

is this the same size as the other block

Walmart sells the Elmers Glue in an spray bottle
I wouldn't advise any sort of spray bottle because it will be very hard to control.

Great find! Thank you Edward!
