A catalyst does not alter equillibrium constant but it just speeds up a reaction (both forward and backward) following an alternative pathway with lower activation energy.
My question is why a catalytic reaction gives more conversion of substrate compared to an uncatalyzed reaction under identical condition. More conversion indicates change in equllibrium constant. Please explain.
